Good initiative by your brother. We don't have any right to judge people and make joke of their appearance. Its high time that we decide where we are heading to, a more open minded, tolerant and more accepting world or a narrow minded and intolerant world where people just judge another one.

I m short heighted since childhood I m facing such kind of humiliation by my friends n relative .i can understand how does it feel when people jugde you by your Appreance not by your qualities. I really admire this video and thank you dove for bringing such kind of evil mentality in notice.
This bought tears in my eyes... While the male in comment section be like "men are also judged on the basis of their salary so its ok to judge the girls on the basis of looks."
They are doing a great job by marketing the story with the times.. ultimately the end goal is to sell products and keep the customer base happy with these stories.
Salary is something that depends on your hardwork bro..looks are what you are naturally gifted you can't do anything for it, it'snot that we are southkoreans to go for plastic surgry for little flaws....better salary means the man is hardworking...not everyone can do that.
Let me Rephrase the tag line :- “Kamiya nehi, wo khubiya hai ” I don't know if this was good enough but what I meant to say, None of this physical traits are *kamiya* , they are what makes us different from each other and unique in our own ways 💖 #Spreadlove 💖
They can't say that only because of the obese lady. Health is important. You're right about different kind of hair, skin tone etc. But they have to be a brand promoting acceptance but definitely not promoting obesity. So, they asked to see how even the obese lady has stunning skin. They're showcasing smooth skin of all these women. (That's their product). Like can you see what's amazing about her instead of looking at what's not great (in the eyes of the beholder).
There is ,color height discrimination, selling boy and taking dowry, and forcing two strangers to stay together and have sex without any internal connection, and forcing them to not take divorce If their marriage is not working, There is everything wrong with arrange marriages still they say it's 'sanskari'and "bado se Kabhi galtiya nyi hoti bade Kuch Soch samjhkr hi faisala krte h"
I am not pointing out anyone but Often what happens and I personally feel is that women only criticise a women! when a women will stand for a woman na then no man, actually no man can dare do this! Everyone is beautiful and perfect in their own way.Not only that particular person has to appreciate that but we ( society )also should accept them with all their imperfections and yes, as shown in the video, whatever we do with someone else's daughter can happen with our own daughters as well as what goes around comes around in unexpected ways! Don't know about others but yes its my promise to me : neither will let any such thing happen to me nor with anyone around me! and Yes thank you Dove for sharing such a lovely message!
I m 29 years old. I met a guy 4 months ago for marriage purpose. He rejected me with a reason that i m not beautiful... I accepted the reason then after 4 months his mother called my mother and asked my mom about my recent pictures and fixed a meeting. And then his mother rejected me again...then my parents asked the reason then her mother replied that your daughter is not beautiful and she has scars on her face. My mother gave her explanation that she had lot of pimples when she was 20-21 for 5 years then what his mother replied why didn't you stopped your daughter when she was scratching her face at that time. My parents were stunned and hurted I just want to simply request to all the boys and his parents....please don't insult a girl and her parents on her looks. Respect her and her parents by simply saying no instead of commenting on her looks.
This is so cruel. Tbh before meeting guys and their parents I used to think that world is not that bad. One time I just get to know about meeting 2 hr before they came so I can't get ready, I had oil in my hairs so I just made braids. But the lady said I am not the one in the picture. The girl in pic is someone else and she don't want to get married because she had an affair and I was just a replacement. It was my birthday and she told all this to my parents and I was listening because I was standing just behind the curtain. And one other time a guy family wants his whole joint family to see me. They already came 2 times and they wants to come again to judge me. It was humiliating. I used to think karma is real but I guess it's not, because all those people are now happy without any guilt. I will never do something like this with anyone (boy or girl).
Whenever any of my relatives[male] get married my parents and my aunt make fun of them, calling them ''Moti ladki, kaali ladki, aged ladki, batsoorat ladki.....'' etc. And the most hurting thing is that it's women who are more interested in making fun of other women.
A girl born in india want to be only fit,. Fair, average height, no curly hair ,no skinny , no scares in face , is a perfect girl think by the people of india ,but I think the perfect girl, is who has more kindness, she is perfect girl.
Highly appreciated to bring out this biggest hidden and not so hidden menace in our society's thinking ! A girl or a boy is silently butchered with these stereotypes. I am glad Dove brought this up. I was using its products. Now I have a reason why I do. Thanks Dove❤️
Yes. I've always pointed in every discussion why do people say "saaf/safa" for fairer skin. (As if the darker are dirty?) I'm sure they're clean. Few shades darker yes, but if people don't stop uttering these words to define complexion, nothing can change.
Once a boy's family came to my house. They started talking about how women should definitely know how to cook even if they don't know anything else. My father looked at them with a smile and politely said, " it's equally important for both boys and girls to know how to cook, it's a necessity not compulsion" I am so proud of my father. Unrelatable to the beauty standard but this is also one of the standards us girls are measured in
The story tells every second women struggling.. the judgment, comments, thoughts of mind set i mean I'm one woman who face has every second . How many are...
Such a beautiful ad with a heartbreaking truth. Made me cry. I hope one day we are able to look past these standards set by society in the name of “beauty” and see the actual person and not just the physical appearance.
The first add which touched my heart deep within ...❤️ ...I feel every girl is beautiful ❤️ every girl is unique ..it's not about how they look ...its about those incredible qualities they have in them...❤️ So to all the girls reading this comment ... "You are beautiful inside out" ..
This video can go viral even if we don't promote. Most hit hard message conveyed. I can feel rajeswaris father 🥺 total act brought me to tears. No matter how much a beautiful girl can be society has its own name to say
Who said that fair is beautiful or that only fair is powerful?? People have beautiful features in dark skin tone too! A dark person can have beautiful face cut, beautiful eyes, beautiful lips, gorgeous hair, glowing and healthy skin which might not have looked prettier on a fairer skin instead. A person can be beautiful in any skin tone. In my perspective, one who is confident is beautiful. However what majorly matters is the inner beauty-the beauty of your soul. Your perspective must be beautiful. Let's not abide by the illogical rules of beauty, the beauty standards set by the society. Let your own authentic selves shine❣️☺️ "We're not born ugly, we're born in a judgemental society." ~Kim Nam-joon(BTS)
Army 💜💜 and yes rightly said .... Many western people get Tan and want to get darker and here we are neglecting such natural beauty for light skin and everyone is beautiful the way they are..
I guess DOVE is the only brand who puts real efforts in their ads. When i was a kid i used to watch dove ads nd always thought that why they're not showing that we can be fair by using their soap unlike other brands nd why there are only dusky tone girls in their ads why not the fair model. But now i get the real meaning of beauty. Kudos to DOVE. Ur ads and motto is always inspiring.
But this true...even I was facing this and everytime I wish I couldn't be born...being ugly is a sin for girl in my opinion. Society judges so easily.they won't think about feelings they just judge their own way.... But I think when a girl is born she should be beautiful otherwise her life will be like hell.when a girl is beautiful her life will be heaven.

Not to belittle the intention but it's time that we stop seeing fat/dark/short etc etc as "khaamiyaan". The whole motive of the video falls flat when these factors are refered as FLAWS. It comes across as though being fair/thin etc etc are considered to be beautiful??? Sounds like am whining but just saying. What needs to be changed is our perspective of seeing things. The flaw lies right there.

There will always be people who point fingers , it's wired into our brain to enjoy humiliating others . No point in objecting them, it's only like you pluck one weed and the next day another springs up.( I learned the hard way) Only solution is that. We have to love our selves and force it on other.
The whole concept of arrange marriages revolves around choice and hence we are presented with these facts Its high time now the concept of arrange marriage should be abolished and it should be a fundamental right of an individual to choose his/her life partner. #noarrangemarriage
You think these things don't happen in love marriages? The only difference you're seeing here is in arranged marriages, someone might actually say it to your face why you're rejected. In love marriages, they just subconsciously know why they're rejecting you but they won't tell you. Arranged marriages don't take away the choice of a person. You can still decline if you don't want to get married to someone. Tell your parents they're trash for wanting you to marry someone against their will. Half these problems come from the fact that the parents are controlling and abusive, then it is the parent fault for being this way.
This is nothing but woke capitalism, a marketing technique. Remember guys this is the company which used to make fair and lovely products. Don't fall for this nonsense.
Absolutely, u said my heart out. These are ridiculous marketing gimmicks. None of this is a kami, they're all beautiful girls the way they are. Society is changing & accepting diversity. No point making such ads & pushing the society 10 years back again.
Well if ads convey the right message instead showing fairing skin message, there's no issue. Many will see this and understand the right thing. There is no harm in changing their fair lovely ads to something real and important. Its a great marketing technique. So its perfectly fine!!
I know that very well. Half the people in comments also judge the people they date equally harshly, then preach morality 😂 It's just a virtue game. Nothing more. They were the ones peddling fair skin products until last year. A company is no one's friend.
Really really appreciated and a huge respect from my side to DOVE🙏 Thanks for understanding all these kinds of stuffs which every girls and their parents suffer through.

Every company is doing advertisement for it's profit but ur story is very heart touching & u HV shown d reality . " .Even my colour is dark & since childhood , so many people commented on my dark colour . So ,,, I can feel that pain . & The worst part is that ,,, when Parents feels bad .
Why we prove ourself in front of anyone? Girls should make their own identity and she should live independently also. Girl don't need society but society need the support of women.
Many men and boys will agree to your statement, but no sooner they get married to an independent woman, they'll ask her or even force her to stay at home and take care of house lol.so I urge girls not to be fooled by them online or offline
Concluded the advertisement with "KHAMIYAN" nahi khubiyan dekhe.... These are not the KHAMIYAN.... I hate when brands like these created market out of women's insecurities..... and now came up with an advertisement.... Well Dove has been little kind as compared to other beauty brands ... Like pond's, fair n lovely, Garnier....
An apt example towards the saying " A woman's is only a woman's worst enemy". It has to start from our grandmothers and mothers first, and we, women need to learn it (before moving towards the men)🙏🙏
This ad feels so personal ... This is something that has always stayed with me since the "marriageable "age. Like something so heavy in my heart that I couldn't move with its weight.. As if this ad spoke for me .. In tears, while watching this...
The idea is amazing. Kudos to the sensitivity and aware minds behind it. But I don't agree with the tagline "khaamiya" is being dark, short, curly haired a "khaami" then that means being fair, tall or slim is a "khoobi" . Please change the tagline if you can #dove
With the tagline they are reflecting this judgemental society's standers, it's not like that it's their opinion on beauty standards. I have curly hair, I do get bad compliments from society, I hated my hair once,Back then I thought they are my "khamia" but now I know that they are actually my "khoobia" we need your love ourselves, love who you are, and what you have. We need to be confident about yourself. Maybe I'm not on point, but j hope you can understand..
The height one hits hard , i have been told it so many times that its a joke now and i also laugh but inside it does hurt but i also joke about myself sometimes because im use to it
Dove...u meant having a dusky skin is a kami in a woman? having a curly hair is a kami? being fat is a kami? being short is a kami? what khoobiyaan should we find in these women then?.... that fat one is at least fair? that dusky one is at least slim? that short one has at least straight hair? and the curly hair one is tall enough? rasta theek pakda tha....end mein gobad kar dala saara dove..huf....we have a long way to go still!! ufff
finally find a girl who understands the real mindset of dove behind this.....i just commented and girls came out of nowhere and tagged me misogynistic , element of patriarchal society and all 😂😂😂 they just can't understand that this add is just for promotion of a beauty product nothing more than that
Mam don't you know any overweight or dusky skin girl who is happily married?? Don't go by what's shown in news reports and mass media. Think logically from your personal experience . Don't we have such "Not so good looking" friends who are happily married or in a happy relationship?? Majority of Indian society never discriminate or judge based on outward appearance. I personally know so many good looking boys earning handsomely getting married to so called "Not so good looking" girls and treating them like Queens. And those minority who judge outward appearance judge both genders. Don't good looking girls judge boys??Will any good looking girl get married to someone who looks like Rajpal Yadav? These people just love to generalise and divide people. That's it. If good looks are the only criteria for a Happy marriage or relationship, 90% India will die unmarried, single and virgin
The concept of Beauty : Men want women to be pretty and men invented make up !! The Corset were must for ladies which was made mandatory by men.. Chinese foot binding or girls covering their head are all different kind of male chauvinism.!! Now, women are under constant pressure to wear make up inorder to look appealing... !! Why should their looks matter more than what they are capable of ??!!! I don't like painting my face !! But sometimes I feel like I should do and I hate making me look appealing... I mean for what !!!
Yeah you are right. This gender expectations suck. For both and men and women. For women it is hard to not get judged for there appearance and for men the same. For men if you're not hot and cute enough, you aint gonna survive your youth same goes to women. No one wants a partner Who is not good in appearance and who is a straight minded career guy/girl. Infact i got judged by my appearance and my economical issue. You know if a men don't have a strong economical status hes doomed.
@@dracomessierrr1977 @DracoMessierrr My case, I was so confident till my 12 or 13 years of age... But then i started getting all these comments about my skin color and constant comparison with my fair skinned siblings, my confidence really levelled down ... I gave more focuse to my looks than my capabilities !! And I am done with it... The most important thing is don't treat anyone or judge anyone the way you have been judged !
Very true .and people blindly foloow Kardashian And their makeup.and its worst even when light colour foundations are more demanding and ...thousands of women jave to hide their natural skin problems from world😕
Most of these facts are plain untrue Corset was invented by a woman named Roxy Caplin. They stayed in trend for about 20 years, by which time they started declining in popularity. It was never a must but definitely a beauty standard back then. Make up was invented by ancient Egyptians. Queens, yes queens such as Cleopatra, the one who conquered Egypt and married Julius Caesar was one of the first ones who started colouring their lips and face to appear more glamorous. She didn't do it for any man. She was the most powerful woman in Egypt. Men bowed to her. Caesar traveled to her to make an alliance. Besides which, make up isn't exclusive to women. A lot of men, especially Rockstars and film actors use it. It's a part of societal beauty standards and men alone don't make up those standards. For instance, the perception of buff, slim males being seen as highly attractive and preferable mates isn't something men invented. It was chosen by the society to be an ideal male figure and it still is to this day. Fat men are never or rarely ever accepted as heroes in movies and hosts in TV shows for this very reason. The only ones pressuring women to wear make up is other women. Men don't care as long as you take a shower every day and keep yourself hygienic, fit and healthy. I can't even tell you the first thing about make-up as a man. I don't know anything. Don't give in to peer pressure and cut off contact with everyone, guy or girl who pressures you into putting on make-up. Chinese foot binding was definitely an atrocious thing to do. And I will concur it was imposed by men. Girls covering their head has different reasons in different religions. In Hinduism, north Indian women started covering their heads during the Mughal invasion so as to not get abducted by rapists. In Islam, the Quran dictates women to cover their head/body in public. I don't know much about Islam but my friend tells me it is the word of God and their God told women as well as men to dress modestly. So women were to aspire to wear hijabs/burkha in public and were to be accompanied by a man of the family whenever they had to go out.
Thank you Dove, For making such a beautiful and relevant ad. This society has been imposing unbelievable beauty standards on women for centuries. And no one is saying anything about it. In fact people are normalising it. Look at the ads some beauty product companies are making today. That is so frustrating. I hope you never change your stand and keep on supporting women for who they are. ❤
So touchy and so realistic.... Proud that dove made it....tired of judgements, tired to explain.....see my inner beauty and qualities not my outer self.....
As an independent video concept, this is extremely touching and gives out a powerful message...But as soon as we bring in the brand element into picture, the hypocrisy becomes evident - an organisation that started beauty test in the first place with shade cards/beauty meters with fair and lovely is trying to take a high moral ground here...Just saw Preganews new video-its a gem!
It's all about changing through time. They only have morals and standards to understand people psychology at this point. What can marketed best. Manufacturing sector especially cosmetics(related to women) has always uphold biased institution in delivering advertisement just to survive in the market. There is no conscience of them, they are influencers hence they doing their job.
People even judge on the basis of what we wear and how we keep our hairs. If I kept braids then I am bhenji type girl, but girls with open hairs are modern. This is also one of the scale to judge others.
One of my colleagues was engaged recently. The guy's mom took her out in the sun to check whether her face is clear. Not only that, they made her walk in a straight line to see how poised she was. The sad thing is her parents did not find anything wrong with this.
"BEAUTY COMES IN ALL SHAPES, COLOR AND SIZE" Either a boy or a girl, everyone is judged on the basis of skin color, their body, height, weight and their clothing style. Can we just STOP and make others stop too!

My parents were stunned and hurted
I just want to simply request to all the boys and his parents....please don't insult a girl and her parents on her looks.

Let your own authentic selves shine❣️☺️

The whole concept of arrange marriages revolves around choice and hence we are presented with these facts
Its high time now the concept of arrange marriage should be abolished and it should be a fundamental right of an individual to choose his/her life partner. #noarrangemarriage
💯
You think these things don't happen in love marriages? The only difference you're seeing here is in arranged marriages, someone might actually say it to your face why you're rejected. In love marriages, they just subconsciously know why they're rejecting you but they won't tell you.
Arranged marriages don't take away the choice of a person. You can still decline if you don't want to get married to someone. Tell your parents they're trash for wanting you to marry someone against their will. Half these problems come from the fact that the parents are controlling and abusive, then it is the parent fault for being this way.

Very true .and people blindly foloow Kardashian And their makeup.and its worst even when light colour foundations are more demanding and ...thousands of women jave to hide their natural skin problems from world😕
Most of these facts are plain untrue
Corset was invented by a woman named Roxy Caplin.
We r born to be real not perfect....
A perfect is not real and real girl is not perfect.... Choice is yours... 😊🙂

WE WANT PART-2 OF THIS AD PLAYED BY THE SAME CHARACTERS STANDING FOR THEMSELVES AND HENCE CONCLUSION.
