The 80’s brought the love of my life into my life who adopted all 3 of my children and moved to Hawaii. So many great memories of music, jelly shoes, mixed tapes, and the list goes on.
My youngest daughter was born in 1982. She loves quilting. I just gave her one of my embroidery machines and now she is in love with embroidery and Kimberbell designs. We both signed up for the Wallflower Mystery quilt. I live in Utah and she lives in CA, so we FaceTime and make the blocks together. So much fun!
I loved the 80’s that’s when my life changed forever! I purchased my first home, I became married and had my 3 beautiful kiddos in the 80’s. I began construction sewing in the 80’s for my family then I began sewing formalwear and bridal gowns - fashion of the 80’s was fun! That’s when my love for sewing began!
All three of my children were born in the 80’s❣️ We did cabbage patch kids, rainbow bright, jellies and as Kim would say, “the list goes on…..” Very special years ❣️
I was in High School in the 80’s! It was great. I miss my super BIG hair, the music, the clothes, wearing jelly band bracelets 😂 dancing in the parking lot at lunch to Prince. (Yep!) & rapping with Sugar Hill Gang. Blue eyeshadow. What’s Up, Willis?
The 80’s started with high school and ended with my son. Permed hair, Day On the Green rock concerts, pastels. I still have a Christmas sweater with shoulder pads that I wear every year.
The 80s started with me playing with my Barbies and Cabbage Patch doll while wear my jeans with the roller skate patch on the back pocket (complete with shoelace embellishment). As the 80s progressed, I lost my mother, graduated high school, got married and started college. Looking back, it was a busy, wide swinging decade!
80’s favourite memory: Jazzercise classes and trying to act like I meant to be going backwards when everyone else was going forwards! My quilt shop is “My Sewing Room” in Calgary Alberta. Would be fun to go to the 80’s event. Thanks.
I graduated high school in ‘82, got married in 1984 and had my first son in 1987. I haven’t thought about like a ‘80’s decade’, but that is really cool!

I loved trying to record songs on the radio onto cassette tapes and trying not to record the DJ. Loved Jelly shoes and had many because the would break. Loved strawberry shortcake everything and big hair and big earrings. 80's were great!
I failed at luck of the knome, but to Kimberbells defense, I don't always follow directions and the parts I did follow directions were amazing! I learned a lot and this was my first attempt. I will try again down the line. :)

Newly married n having kids in the 80's. When Cabbage Patch Dolls came out they didn't have enough to fill the stores. My kids got their CP Doll made by an old woman who did a great job fixing them up. My kids were little n didn't know the difference of where they came from. They loved their babies!

1980 was a big year for me. I went to the hospital 6 weeks early to have a baby. But I had twin daughters instead! What a blessing they are!
