Hi Andrew it was a pleasure to meet and chat with you on the beach during this very windy session and to see the final results from your day. We chatted for a short while as you were making your first painting shown here. I love your colour accuracy and impressions of these scenes and am grateful you took a moment to talk and show me through your set up. Hope we meet again, I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful work as it unfolds in the future.
Hi Sam great to meet you too! Thanks for stopping by to chat. I really enjoyed my painting session on the beach and look forward to getting out again this week - weather permitting! All the best - Andrew
As I was watching it might work that if you put a couple screws into the business end of your clamp with the points down you could paint around it better without messing up what’s done when you had to move it. Screw them back out to get the full face back when needed or devote a clamp for this size. No charge. Let me know if you try it and it works.
Lovely to see someone else working in all weathers and love the work you're doing! There's nothing to beat plein air painting. A colleague and I are working on a year long plein air project and moving from acrylics to oils now.
Thank you so much 😀 You can't beat the experience of plein air work. It filters in to studio work which I also enjoy. Good luck with your project - sounds like fun
It's always fun to watch you paint in all weathers Andrew. How do you adapt to working on such a small surface with a brush that size? I always struggle with that. Your weather is actually quite nice down there in Cornwall. Part of the English Riviera isn't it.? Here in the Seattle area today it's a rainy, windy 37 degrees right now. (I don't know what that is celsius.. but trust me it's cold..!) Cheers..!
Thanks Bill, always nice to hear from you - even from a freezing cold Seattle! It is quite a challenge going down to this small size but I like the fact that it can be finished quickly and it stops me fiddling with the paint. Can't add too many details at that size which is a good thing! Cheers and have a great Christmas

You paint with what seems like complete abandonment and finish with such lovely expressive little studies. Well done.
