The mystery part looks like a spare fan belt and holder. Many old German cars I've worked on had a spare belt holder and the belt looked like an "8" when installed.

Easy contest...aside from the takom kit,those are all older 70s kits with very basic detail. The dml kits from the 90s were pretty good and far better but had their issues too....
"Greif" looks like a good kit - may give it a try. Not much of a fan of Takom kits anymore, finding way too many fit problems (or I really stink at modeling). Have built the ancient Tamiya version of this kit.
That Tamiya kit was good for it's day but is very dated now. Although it was much easier to build than this takom kit and even the dml kits from the late 90s.
The 250/3 is kind of a mixed bag based on the ‚sprue show‘ here in this video. Some nicely detailed parts for sure, however some other companies do better for example on the tool clamps right out of the box. I like what Dragon did in some kits, tools with clamps molded on and tools without any clamps, so aftermarket ones can be fitted for a much better representation of the real thing. Also, all wireless sets in kits are notoriously neglected by most producers, microphones, loudspeakers and headsets are omitted and there is never a diagram how to wire up the radios. What I dislike most with Takom are the connections of part with sprue, they are quite thick and sometimes in unfortunate places, making them hard to remove and requiring cleaning work on each and every part (just look at the shovel at 6:14 - FOUR connecting points for such a small part?? All of them requiring some cleaning up….). And their microscopic instructions not really being that user friendly when it comes to part identification and placement.

Coming from Asia, I suspect the ships will take the shortest route that being the Pacific Ocean, and will dock on the West Coast thus negating any East Coast strike.

We should hold a contest about which company created the best Sdkfz 250/3 "Greif" : Airfix, Tamiya, Takom or Nitto Kagaku.
