Deadpool 3 is currently shooting. Karan Soni, who plays Dopinder in the films, confirmed in an interview that not only will the film be Rated R, it wikl be "as R as ever." With Reynolds stating that Deadpool has always been a passion project, is this is a surprise? The topic of budgets in films comes up again in the slate of Comic Book Movie films. I completely respect your opinion but I really don’t understand how people don’t like the end of Chang chi. I think it’s beautiful and they earned it with a great story. The usage of the rings, the music, the dragons. It all just sings to me.
I think most of the dislike comes from the cgi noise fest. I still enjoyed it though

I love Secret Invasion. It's heading to the top of my favorite Marvel show's. I agree with Coy and want this to do well.
Ok Fridays are now officially my favorite episodes, not just because of Comics news, but we get Story time with Harloff, between the meathead at Disneyland or him spending hours getting balls stuck in a tree, these are hilarious.

BUDGET TALK: Totally agree they need to get these budgets under control but I think an important way to think about it is to separate the ABOVE THE LINE, from the actual PRODUCTION budget. For example the 300 on Indy 5 included probably 20 for Harrison, 10 or more for Spielberg, 10-15 or more for Mangold, 5-10 for Frank Marshall, and then all the writers including David Koepp who can’t come cheap. Also most of these people all take some level of points on the back end. So you have to consider that before they actually start making the film, they’re already close to 100 million. That’s how you get to 300 or more after post and reshoots

Great show today everyone! Thanks so much for the laughs especially Joey Pickles ha ha ha. I think deadpool is going to be a huge success and is my most anticipated. I really want xmen and mutants to make their way in sooner rather than later as the x men were the reason I got into comics to begin with. You all have a great weekend!
Top Gun: Maverick's budget was in the 170$ million range. Even more impressive considering the bloated budgets that seem to get thrown around these days.
That movie was backed by taxpayers.

If Superman: Legacy is an excellent movie but fails at the box office, I think Gunn & Safran will be given a long leash to repair and rebuild the DC brand and the goodwill of Legacy will build into the next film, similar to how Into the Spider-Verse built goodwill for Across the Spider-Verse.
Yup. And they probably know that going in. Any better received films help repair the brand up to that point too, so I hope Blue Beetle and Aquaman are good even if they don't rake in the Benjamins.

Kristian been a fan of yours since collider I love what you’ve created from a studio in your house, truly happy for you.
In regard to Deadpool I believe they are going to pull some themes from the 5 run comic Deadpool vs Old man Logan with the killing of the multiverse. Where I will be pissed is if they underuse the Reynolds / Jackman relationship in the movie because that would be such a waste. If the story is Deadpool kills the fox X-men / marvel verse how does that play out between Reynolds and Jackman. Don’t get me wrong I have faith in Ryan Reynolds and Sean Levy but one thing Hugh said in the beginning is in no way will this film mess with Logan since it’s taking place 4 years prior.
I do believe there’s going to be some hilarious murder like Deadpool coming out of nowhere and just shooting both Ben affleck and Garner on the seesaw lol
This is the problem I have with current MCU. They introduced new characters like Shang-Chi, Eternals, and others that don't get a follow up sequel right away, to their movies, or series.
This is the downside of one studio putting out stuff for all their IP. They can only do so much at a time.

I swear you always have the best stories about your family and the way you tell them makes them that much more entertaining. Over the years, I'd go so far to say you have enough material for a comedy series lol. I would love to see the photo of Joey Pickles, but I get why you can't make it public. There could be some legal issues, I guess. As for Deadpool 3, it's already been confirmed to be R. It annoys me how so many people are still worried about it not being that way just because Disney owns Marvel. They also have Fox and they once had Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, and Miramax/Dimension, all of which make R-rated movies. Disney's made adult-oriented material for years. Everyone keeps forgetting this. It's funny Coy mentioned certain actors who played Marvel characters in the Foxverse because it was reported earlier tonight that Jennifer Garner will be playing Elektra in the film. I don't know how this is all gonna work, but I'm looking forward to it. Sticking with Marvel, I'm also bummed out that Secret Invasion isn't doing better. It's a fantastic show. The blend of spy thriller with alien invasion thriller in the MCU is just awesome. However, I'm okay with waiting for Shang-Chi 2 if it means it's done right. Marvel's in a tight spot right now and it's better they get their shit together first. And I'll never disagree with you that budgets need to come down. I only disagree with the idea that it should also mean scaling down.

Finally saw Guardians Vol.3 scooped on Amazon today! Loved it and wish I saw it in theaters! I’ve found myself not going to the movies lately and I used to see everything all the time when it dropped. Clearly I’m not alone considering recent box office. I have no excuse off the top of my head but this seems to be a “thing” these days, myself included now I guess🤔
Because waiting a mere few weeks is all you have to do. All the studios are screwing up their own Box Office because they can't figure out how to use streaming properly. They are so focused on getting content onto their streaming services as fast as possible that they have abandoned the Box Office. This is why there are so many "flops" anymore. They have killed enthusiasm and excitement.
I am happy to keep Deadpool Ripped Rugged and Raw R…I can’t wait to see the movie and the Hot Toys that come from this film too!!!!

I grew up in Orlando, been going to Disney world since 90. Best memorie ever was the meet and greet with Anna and Elsa with my 6 and 9 year old daughters just before covid hit. ❤❤❤ And I've got quite a few fond memories.

As a young kid maybe about 7-9 or so, my mom and dad took me to Disney world. during the late night parade & fireworks I had a grown ass man push me outta the way (I don't remember doing anything wrong but I might've been in his kids way of seeing not too sure) my dad who i've never seen get mad enough to fight anyone got so mad that him and that guy almost threw down during the parade. I remember my dad yelling at him for pushing me but nothing physical ever happened, i'll never forget it lol.

Due to the nature of Image Comics, shows and movies based on material published through them will, rightfully, be through agreements with the creator or their company. The Walking Dead and Invincible fall under Skybound. Spawn is Todd McFarlane and Savage Dragon is Eric Larson. Witchblade is Top Cow.
Even DCs upcoming Authority movie comes from material published by Wildstorm, initially through Image.
The company has had crossovers a few suggesting a shared universe (especially in the early days), but that would be very difficult to manage for a movie. At best, we might see visual easter eggs in the background during episodes of Invincible.
38:30 Right here is the real talk about these ridiculous budgets. This summer is the wave crash of the pre-pandemic agreements, and times and fads change faster than ever now. We've seen basically all big studios slow things down because there's too much content that has to be speed dealt like a possessed Uno card-spitter in too many directions.

Secret Invasion and Andor are both for more mature audiences, and both of them being on Disney+ is working against them as the general public’s perception of Disney is that they are a family friendly brand. If those two shows were streaming on Netflix or HBO, they would be talked about much more since those companies skew more mature and will have more of the audience they are targeting seeing the show on their home page and taking an interest. Disney+ to me is not the best home for them - younger viewers dominate their demographic and will see them on the homepage and choose not to click because they don’t jump out to them.
True but I think Disney understands this is their weakness and might be working towards more mature content to attract an older audience.

However, I think they may have left it too late and already built up a reputation and lack of trust from the audience. They should have diversified their content much earlier from when they launched.
Except Andor was a breath of fresh air in a wrecked Star Wars universe, whereas Secret Invasion is yet another Disney+ splattering of content in a tired franchise that effectively ended ten movies ago. I haven't bothered with the MCU in years. Bored with it. No _End Game_ to keep me interested.

After this last movie, Deadpool (Reynolds or re-cast) will be pushed into the family-friendly MCU so he can play with the X-Men. Disney's Hollywood riches came from selling tickets to the family of four, not the single dude or the married couple.

I personally feel like there isn't enough connective tissue between the movies and film in the Multiverse Saga so far, for example I would love to see more animated content filling in the gaps in between films/ live action shows. I fell like they have attempted it but not really invested in it. They could do budget friendly content similar to Dave Filoni's Clone Wars/Rebels in the Star Wars universe or like James Gunn's approach to the new DCU, I feel Marvel needs to take a similar approach using other forms of media to take their time telling a much larger story.

I'd love if the first real trailer for Deadpool 3 was cut as a PG-13 movie and at the end of the trailer it say "Rated PG-13" and then Deadpool comes in and is like "Wait WHAT THE FUCK?" and a big blood spattered R goes over the PG-13 screen ala the blood in the Invincible title card on that show lol
Best fireworks I've ever seen was at Mount Rushmore. It was such a crazy visual, they also had like goats or lambs freaking out on the grass wich was hilarious 😂.

When it comes to lowering budget. I would agree, depending on the character. Deadpool doesn’t have the same power set from a visual stand point as say Green Lantern (different universe I know) So theoretically they should do it as a case by case based on now just lower the budget on all of them. But the first thing is to get better writers who actually know what they are writing about. Don’t make a movie about Muhammad Ali if you’ve never watched one of his fights. Don’t make comicbook movie, and not read a comic book lol

Has it been a week of release & maybe if I wanted it not to get spoiled should I have HAD seen it already…maybe. With family summer plans & work haven’t been lucky enough to find time for it (or blessed enough to get a screener for it) & I get slips up can happen with movie talks but this one kind of sucked hearing about it beforehand.

I don’t see a separation btwn the movies and tv shows. Of the Marvel shows you had, Hulk, Falcon, Winter Soldier, Wanda, Vision, Nick Fury, and Hawkeye in them. Most being the main characters.

Coy said that David corenswet needs to put on something like 60 pounds for his Superman role. That is absolutely ridiculous. The movie starts shooting in 6-7 months. And there IS a lot you can do in that amount of time. But even if he had years, why would you ever want to add that much weight? That is pure and total insanity. 20 pounds of muscle in 7 months is totally impossible without a crazy steroid stack. We should be hoping he does something around 15 pounds(MOSTLY muscle) and it looks really good on his frame, which I’m sure it will. But I don’t think a lot of people realize just how different someone can look with that much more size.

Sometimes you have to wait forever, and then you don't get to meet the princess you wanted to, but hey, at least you still got to meet a princess.
Same with movies, sometimes you have to wait forever, and then the movie isn't what you thought it would be, but can we all just start being happy we got a movie in the first place?
Because even if the one we got is bad, hopefully that'll lead to a good one in the future.
