Romina, I truly understand what you are going through. I lost a friend that I had known since I was five years old. To this day, I don’t know why she removed me from her life. When my first husband got sick and died at the age of 39, people who I thought were my friends stopped talking to me. In life, when going through bad times, you find out who your real friends are. I also know what it is like to feel like you are losing yourself. You have a great support system, and you WILL get through this. You WILL find yourself again. Sending you positive thoughts that the upcoming surgery will improve your quality of life. Sending you huge hugs. I am almost 74, so I have shared with you a lifetime of experiences. ❤️

It happend to me too , last year , when I got chronicly sick..I have no explanation for this. They wanted to engage with me , when I was healthy , full of life and fun. When I was not , they even forgot my birthday. They tought me a lot. I never expected this... broken trust.
Dearest Romina, I’m so very sorry you are going through all of this. 7 years ago I lost 7 family members in a years time. One was my mother, my husband of 44 years and a niece. I sank very deeply into a depression. 1 dear friend was there for me. None of my family or long time friends . It is very hard to dig yourself out. When I finely realized I was going to have to do it myself the pandemic came. I got a puppy to make me get up every morning and took him to school. I found utube and you and Dacob among others brightened my spirits.
Hug your lovely husband for me. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh darling Romina. I had sepsis /septic shock 10 years ago. I was in the ICU for 3 weeks and in a rehab center for 6 weeks. I was then in bed for a full year. At the 1 year point I had my toes amputated and was back in rehab for 3 weeks. People I thought were my friends disappeared. People stopped communicating with me completely. To this day, I have no idea why. It made me loose faith in people for a bit. I now have maybe 5 people I would consider actual friends. They are people that if something were to happen, they would show up in any way they could.
One thing that happens to a lot of people who have an extended health crisis have a bit of an identity crisis. We end up having our illness be our hobby. It can be hard to do things we once loved for lots of reasons. Sometimes our bodies just won’t let us do what we used to do. Sometimes our minds have shifted and things that were once a great joy to us can actually cause a little anxiety. It’s ok to move on. It’s ok to no longer find joy in things we once did. It’s ok to say meh.. luxury doesn’t do it for me anymore. You can’t FORCE joy. Either it is there, or it’s not. No one will hate you if your joy changes. It just means.. you changed. Those who were here only for the luxury will move on . Those of us who love all of your little quirks and all of the little bits you share with us and are here for you, will stay. Viel Liebe.

Exactly what I thought. It has happened to me too (i wrote a comment about it but deleted it again because of giving maybe too many personal details). But let's say Germany in particular has a very strong culture of jealousy. I grew up there and have experienced it for many years with German friends/acquaintances. Haven't experienced the same level of this since moving abroad
Yes! And because we love our friends and want the best for them, it is hard to be real about all the little red flags that let us know that jealousy is there.
Dearest Romina, so sorry to hear of yet another surgery! Even though we are across the ocean, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. From personal experience, I have fought both cancer and Graves' Disease and had very little support from either family or so-callled "friends." I have no words nor reasoning for their behaviour but I do know that I have disconnected from them. There is no more hurt on my side because when someone is giving you only 10% and you are giving the other 90%, there is no contest anymore! You will overcome all these obstacles and be well! I believe that. If I can do it, so can you and I am a bit older than you are. You shared a beautiful trip with us and I am so appreciative of that. We no longer travel very much. Take care, my Dear. It's so terribly sad that it's only when we are at our lowest point and really struggling, that the people who we thought were our support system, (for reasons only know to them) , can't cope and abandon us. Stay strong. Feel all the love from us your on-line family. 🤗🤗🤗😘

Health definitely is the most important thing. Luxury is just exactly this: luxury. We probably only know who our friends are if we really need them, and we shouldn’t even have to ask for their help … my heart just goes out to you. Wishing you lots of strength for the upcoming surgery and fingers crossed that it'll be the end of your struggles.
Oh, and never feel bad about not posting videos because life happened. Life is definitely more important than this and I am sure that everyone is here to support you.

I can relate on the friends issue. It is so hard when we reach out and the person never asks or makes the initiative to stay in touch. I have this issue with my sister. She never messages, I always have to do it and it's causing distance and tension. I do not know how to resolve it. I try to accept that's how she is.
It hurts the heart but I will say that we need to always have hope and be grateful for what we have in our life especially when so many people are suffering in war right now who have lost their homes and belongings. I focus on charity work and helping those in need around the world. It is really rewarding.

Your mentioning you kind of lost your luxury mojo is very interesting for me. I've very recently gone through a break-up after 16 years of relationship, have moved across the country, left more behind than I took and am trying to sort my life right now... For the first time my bag collection got nice display cabinets, but I seem to have lost the urge to hunt for more, have not even watched my fav TH-camrs ... It's like: enjoy what I have and heal. Maybe the hunt, the urge, the extreme enthousiasm were a way to divert me from being very unhappy before....

12 years ago I suffered a health scare. Took me almost 2 years to get back on track. Through my experience I know you will be better from it. It's a temporary sadness you'll feel with losing what you thought were magical friends... moving forward you have hope ( in the surgery) and your hubby. You'll get thru this ( because you know you have to) and come out the other side wiser and stronger. No support is confusing and scars the heart but you'll get thru this. You know, I don’t have a passion for handbags, most of the time i don’t wear one, but that doesn’t stop me from finding them beautiful and what hooked me on your videos was first and foremost you and your personality, which every time i listen to you, that you take us with you, makes me have a good time and no matter what day I’ve had, with you i forget everything! Lovely Romina, all I want to say is, you are wonderful don’t forget that - in life friends come and go and it is particularly difficult when it is when you really need them. I have found real friends are hard to find but when you do they will always have your back in both good and bad times. I will tell you a few stories about this when we catch up. Hi Romina! Yes sadly, I can totally empathize with your disappointing experience with old friends. Its happebed to me too, many times. Although it hurts to see them go, the people who are true friends will stick by your side. I am 46 years old and have been through that cycle many times. Now i have 3 good friends and thats it. As an extrovert i would love to have a wider circle of friends, but you just cant trust people nowadays. I have lived and learned just to stick to those who i know are " true blue".

I truly enjoy looking at you and seeing, how you like the Tenerife resort. Those rocks look like the backside of the moon or some Mars photos. Above all, you certainly needed this rest and now you need to face the - hopefully - last operation and recover from that. Summer is nearly here and you can spend a few weeks at home in the garden or in a park nearby just relaxing, maybe reading and watching the world go by. Losing friends is a fact of life and it hurts. I used to have a friend from my very first year at school, but she died in her early thirties. My only other close (?) 3 friends live in Italy, Iceland and Estonia. My dear, dear German friend is suffering from dementia and just turned 35.
She no longer remembers me. When my cancer - years ago - was found, one of them made her point very clear on the phone:" My dear, I am so sorry for you. As I do not have any idea of how to speak or treat a dying person, it would be better, if you no longer called or contacted me. Bye." Currently, I have my Estonian and Icelandic friends, who often chat on the phone, but even they would never rush over to help me. Life is like this, perhaps we just have to accept it. Nevertheless, it hurts. Please take care and try to enjoy the summer and the warmth.

It’s so beautiful where you are. My thoughts on friends and luxury. Unfortunately when we go through difficult times we learn who our true friends are and sometimes we find new friends. As far as luxury goes your passion for luxury may return once you are finished with all surgery and are healed. You may also discover it no longer brings you joy, but that’s okay be true to you.

Sometimes people have things going on that you can’t/don’t know about which impacts their ability to show up in the way you need. I have been on both sides of this friendship equation. It’s hard all the way around, but sometimes friendships just don’t last forever and it’s a very sad, hard part of life. Take care and be kind to yourself ❤

So sorry for your trials… in 2022 I had 13 surgeries in the month of May. I almost died and it definitely put life in perspective for me. I love luxury bags but just don’t have the desire to purchase anymore. I’m happy with what I have and would rather have memories with my family and friends than all the things in the world. I can now just appreciate the luxury items from afar.

I Have learned it by myself too that many people cannot deal other people's pain or health problems, even though you would be strong and not show most of your pain to others. Illness really shows who our true friends are!! I have learned that people can only understand if they go through same kinds of health issues. All I can say more that you are not alone!! Your journey immersed in chronic pain is something I've experienced, painwise not sourcewise, and it is not easy, and your husband has been an important partner, lover and friend. I am so sorry for all your heartaches, struggles and troubles at the moment. Life is full of ups and downs, and I'm sure this moment in time will pass, and I pray your surgery goes well and life turns for the better! The time in my life when we had difficult incidences, and it seemed as though I could barely go on, well, somehow I got through them. You just have to be strong and ride the wave ~ it will get better I promise. I know it’s hard to swallow but you’re better off without people like that in your life. I’ve been where you are and it’s so upsetting and I honestly don’t believe it’s you, it’s them. I’m a cancer survivor and a decade ago I was serious ill and not expected to survive. I lost some friends I considered to be close and a couple of years after, I found out why. They just simply didn’t know how to talk to me so they stopped.. then time goes by to the point they don’t feel they can reconnect. Illness and life changes I still believe bring out the ultimate best in people but also the absolute worse.
You have an amazing loving supportive husband and friends that stood by you the entire time. That’s all you need ❤

I lost a friend of 44 years last year. I was there for her through thick and thin. When she was hospitalized, I drove to another city several times a day to visit here even though I was working full time, had two small kids, and was in school. I was so exhausted and stressed, but that is the type of friend I am. Last year was the first time in our friendship, I was very ill and I lost my job where I worked for 17 years. She was abandoned me. I was so shocked that when I needed her the most in my life, she wasn’t there. I decided to end the friendship because I realized I deserved better. I have literally grieved everyday. I miss her terribly, but I know that I want real friends in my life. I deserve more than fair weather friends. The good news is it made me reevaluate my priorities and as a result, my husband and I have grown so much closer. It is the happiest I have ever been in our 30-year marriage. Silver linings for sure ❤

I am focusing on my health and the people who are here in my life. I have found that in the times of your greatest success and greatest trials you find out who is with you. Get well Romina, your health is a priority and is a luxury too ♥Friendship is such a difficult thing to navigate at least it has been in my life, in my 35 years living on Earth I still haven't cracked the code on that. The environment I grew up in largely to blame for my hesitation and skepticism towards it, who knows maybe as a child I was so deeply betrayed, wronged, humiliated and shamed in such a way that I cannot trust and even allow people into the deepest parts of my life. Only my husband of 15 years, my children, and my siblings are allowed into the deepest parts of me - yeah therapy in the past 4 years has peeled back layers and layers upon trauma, but one thing I have learned, only the people who care and love you will stay. As painful as it is, maybe this purge of friendship was long over due (honest to God there is something magical about hitting 30 where you cannot tolerate bs anymore and I love that), only your true people will stay and please take comfort in that and this is me saying that as someone who always gets deeply hurt when friendships that I take effort to cultivate to end up being just a one-sided thing (omg especially the type of friendships you think that they will become your ride or die only to be reminded that you are at the absolute bottom of their priorities). "Friendship for a reason, friendship for a season, friendship for a lifetime" that's what I've been telling myself to make sense of all this

Romina! I had missed your videos and hearing your voice and laughter while showing us gorgeous bags! I am sorry about people disappointing you. My thoughts are that people sometimes don't know how to react to someone else's pain or tragedy, and therefore they just pull away from us. I experienced something similar a few years ago after my brother's passing away and having some of my allegedly closest friends completely absent while I was in so much pain and loneliness. So I guess it's just part of their own path and process to experience something like that on their own to learn how they can actually be empathic with a loved one. My advice on this, if I may, is perhaps to look into some bibliography instead of people to find for that comfort. Lots of love and support always!!

Hello Romina. I love your travel uploads and I think you can recover naturally. I didn't realise you are in so much pain and I totally feel you when i was hit with joint pain brought on by menopause. It is sad about lost friendships. I have experienced the same 2 years ago and after that, I feel people in our lives will come and go. Try not to dwell on lost frienships and look for new ones. Romina, thank you for sharing and as much as I love your shopping vlogs, I always enjoy hearing heart to heart talks in your videos. Behind every camera is a live person with feelings and various challenges in life just like so many of your viewers. Life is more than just bags. I'm so sorry to hear about you losing friends during difficult times. I can't imagine going through one surgery after another and then having to deal with chronic pain. I have definitely lost friends along the way in life. Most are just ones who drifted off because we live different lives than before and we just don't really keep in touch. A couple are friends who I cut off early on because they were not healthy for me. I also met great people through working together and somehow they never really take initiatives to keep in touch and I got tired of initiating. I have a small group of friends who are there for me and even though we don't see each other daily, I can say that they are still part of my life and can reach out if need to. Sometimes people who show their true colors at your worse time in life can be a blessing because you learn to make space for other people who care about you. It hurts, but as we grow older, we get more selective with friends and for anyone flaking out at our worse times, they don't deserve our time and effort to maintain the friendship. I'm glad you had a getaway and I will keep you in my thoughts as you go through your next surgery. Please take care.

Can't believe you've been able to even function with so much pain. You'll know when the time is right. Here's hoping this last surgery will be THE LAST, and they have finally figured this thing out. There's always hope. Very sorry to hear about friendships dissolving. Yes, it has happened to me, and It's so very disappointing when that happens. Some people just aren't as interested in keeping up with friendships unless they're convenient! It's always hard to be the only one trying. But, the ones who are really your people will stand by you always. Keep up hope, and continue to rest and let yourself heal after this surgery. Thinking of you and continued prayers for your health. I know some people just say that, but when i say it it isn't just saying it. ha. Sending love from alabama usa....PS...through the most difficult times in my life, my writing has rescued me, kept me grounded. It's what i love, and i could never stop doing that. I'm sorry to hear of your continuing struggle. I definitely get it. Seems I get one thing after another with my health. It gets very depressing and frustrating! I'm having surgery in September because I have an umbilical hernia. Plus dealing with being itchy and then I did something to my jaw while I was sleeping so I had pain with chewing! lol. I'll continue to pray for your health and that you will get back to normal real soon!! ❤
