I've been making these for ornaments for our Christmas tree. Im not putting faces on them, they still look really pretty and retro. They are so cute and adorable. Very easy. I dont have my sewing machine set up, because I have painting projects going on too, so I'm hand stitching. It's so fun.
Hello. I’d been searching Cathe Holden & your YT popped into my feed. What a delight to watch your tutorial on this clothespin Angel. I’ve never seen these before, and appreciate your tips for creating each. They are very pretty! Thank you for sharing. Watching from Canada, Gillian
so sweet! How many inches of fabric for each angel before ruffling to have proper fullness? I'll have to use a basting stitch as I don't have a ruffler. Thanks
Hi Moira! About eleven inches! The strip starts out at 45 inches long and 2.5 wide. (Actually 45 inches wide and 2.5 tall because the strips are cut across the width of the fabric from selvage to selvage...) The “jelly roll” strips are pinked along both edges so there is no need to hem and no fraying!
Have you tried making a male one? I'm deciding if I want to try one. Making pants are hard, I've made them for my daughter's Monster High, and Barbie dolls. Tiny clothes are challenging.
Ok, I'm so excited, I made a boy one. He turned out so adorable. What I did was cut 2 small.pieces of fabric and wrapped each leg, then glued them to the back of each leg overlapping slightly. Then because the fabric ends at What would be the groin area I wrapped about 1/2" tall piece of fabric just above that and glued that in the back. I then cut and glued on the arms. I cut a small pice of fabric about 2 " long and 1 1/2" high, to make the vest. I marked on the inside of the fabric where the areas would come out. Then cut a small slit. Put the arms through. Then for the front of the vest I only had it long enough to slightly over lap, and cut the top like a vest would look like. Then I closed it and tied it with some brown yarn. I glued his hands like the angels, but sisnt out anything in them. I had found some 3d butterfly wings at the dollar tree. I took them apart and now I have 2 of each wing. Ones plastic and the bottom was card. I glued that onto his back, and put a string to hang him on the tree. I wish I could show you. He turned out so cute.
Hi Lynda! Mine is a Gemini. It’s electric and easy to use. There are many types and brands of die-cutting machines. My first one had a hand-crank. I think it was a cuttle bug.

Adorable. I like the wings and bodice on this one. TFS.
Thank you Carolyn!
Just love these angles. It's hard to pick a favorite, love them all.

Do you have a recommendation on a beginner sewing machine? It’s been over 15 years since I’ve had one
Hi Amy! I always recommend a used Bernina purchased from a dealer. That way you can get a warranty and classes. And obviously a good price! XO
What is the name of the machine that makes the butterflies?
