I do not know how advanced you are, but do what you can on your own to create your own dances with what you already know, while you are still learning new steps It is fun.
Excellent combination! I've been meaning to ask, since your shoes seem to have a nice bit of buildup, did they have that when you purchased them or is it a custom addition?
My tap instructor, Tommy Conine, taught me to use a built up heal. It keeps you more on your toes while your feet are at the floor. Tommy was my teacher for ten years, beginning in the mid 50's. I am working on getting my chops back enough to share some of the steps he shared with me, which he created himself. He was the best. If Tommy ever learned to stay away from the booze, he would have created a name for himself in show business. I saw him dance with the Vince Geraldi Trio, at an event in Stanford, California, near the college back in the mid sixties. He could improvise. We spent many, many hours in front of the mirror together.
In keeping with your comment, the standard waltz step is "the old soft shoe". This is more of what you might expect to see in a waltz. However, the moves Anthony is making here are top notch. They might go better with more of a Jazz feel. I am an old timer, so I would have preferred to see him dance it to the tune he mentioned in the opening remarks.
Love what this channel is becoming
Fantastic. So stimulating.
WOWZA! Excellent! Well above my abilities, but something for me to strive to become!

I really like the begining and end of the combination, but the hoofing in the middle takes away from the characteristics of a waltz IMO.
