Yeah, so Nightmare Mode has a two-strike system for executing Residents (that way you can't "cheese" the harder difficulty by killing everybody indiscriminately), you got one get-of-jail-free card, after that, you're toast.
Nightmare Mode's doppelgangers are much more subtle with their abnormalities, their documents tend to be very minute in what's wrong with them (such as the D.D.D logo chevrons being upside down, or having 2 chevrons instead of 3), their names can also be very subtly misspelled (using a "u" instead of a "v", which look almost identical in the font used for names on IDs), their appearances are even more subtle with their differences, such as a scar hidden underneath Yog's hair, one too few or too many horns/eyes/teeth on certain residents, tattoos being slightly altered, facial features being too large/small/spread-apart/pushed-together/etc.
Also, the Clown is essentially the final "boss" of Nightmare Mode and is almost entirely dependent on RNG, you can get given a bad hand of cards which'll make you lose, even if you play your turns perfectly, but if you win two out of three rounds, the Clown leaves and you "win" Nightmare Mode.
Also, the "Mask Ghost" is a special character with a certain requirement to appease her, you'll know it's her when you see her, but when you DO see her, the way to get rid of her and move on, is to allow her access into the building three times in a row, then you can continue as normal.
The same rule also applies for the "VIPs" that might show up on Today's List except you only need to let them in once (and you don't need to worry about them being doppelgangers, they're 100% safe to let in).
