There are a few historic hiking trails in Fairfield Bay, but there’s nothing quite like the total experience you take in when deciding to hike Sugar Loaf Mountain. There are two trails you can explore:
1. The Terrace Trail - from the base of the shore and climbs up to the bluff line and goes around the island, 1.6 miles round trip.
2. The Mule Trail - from the terrace trail, it climbs to the top and bisects the level dome of the mountain, .5 miles across the dome.
