    I’m originally from Georgia. Grew up in this park in the 80s and 90s. First roller coaster ever was Great American Scream Machine. It was cool to see a few spots of nostalgia, but even crazier to see the amount of change it has had in the last 25 years which is the last time I was there.

    Oh man this brings back summer memories. There’s some hidden gems in the park but man does it need a major face lift especially with it being one of the original true 6 flags parks

    I’m a local in Georgia and I’ve been to Six Flags Over Georgia ever since I was a little kid (I’m 15 now). I love all the rides there and I’ve rode almost every single ride there. I rode the Catwoman whip a couple of months before this video was posted and it’s definitely not for the faint hearted. It definitely makes you feel sick and it does get scary at certain parts (I don’t tend to get scared on rides or even scream on them, but this one scared me a bit). The Batman ride is fun, but it does make you feel sick too. Superman and the Goliath are two of my favorite rollercoasters there. The Minetrain (Mindbender is good too) is also a fun rollercoaster for younger kids and even older people. I can go on and on about the rides at Six flags, but I’m glad you enjoyed your time there.
    I also wanted to add that the place where you said that it looked like there used to be a ride there, well at one point there actually was. I rode it when I was younger and it was a very fun, but a bit scary water ride. It went fast and it had a big drop at the end and water would splash all over you.

    Thanks for sharing Six Flags over Georgia-I live only 2.5 hours away from Atlanta, but I have always preferred the Disney World parks and as I have gotten older, the other aspects of Orlando (I have close family there). You sharing this vlog, makes me want to return (after over 20 years since my last visit there). Thank you again for going off of beaten paths and visiting other great vacation destinations of America

    we lived in atlanta for 10 years before moving to florida to be near disney. we had annual passes to six flags and went maybe 2-3 times a year compared to probably every other weekend to the orlando parks here. shows you the difference! it's just not on the same level as disney and universal but the coasters are fun. :-)

    This brought back so much nostalgia for me. In Middle School we'd always do a yearly field trip to Atlanta for Band competitions and we'd always go to Six Flags over Georgia. Monster Mansion was my absolute favorite ride too (I'm not a big coaster fan but water rides and arcade games were my jam!)

    That derelict water ride was called Splash Water Falls. I visited SFOG several times during the late 80's to early 90's, and I loved Splash Water Falls during hot summer visits because that ride could get you absolutely drenched. We'd get soaked on the ride at the bottom of the drop, then follow the exit path to the bridge that crosses in front of that drop. Then we'd stop there and hold onto the rail and wait for another boat to take that drop. That splash would just completely drench us a second time, and on a roasting hot summer day, it was amazing! R.I.P. Splash Water Falls.

    The last time I went to the park was on the Fourth of July a couple of years ago, even with Covid the crowd size was in insane. I remember going to The Monster Mansion and seeing the line wrapped clear around that section of the park. The wait time for most rides was ridiculous but that’s what you get for going on the busiest day, still had a blast!

    Thank you for going by Six Flag's rules by not filming on the rides. Kyle Pallo just did that on every single coaster at Six Flags Great America and it's a huge slap in the face to those of us who do the right thing. I'm a photographer who collaborates often with Six Flags and if my camera rights got revoked because of idiots like Kyle I would be so upset.

    • @coasterland325
      @coasterland325 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with the method of filming being wrong, never ever use a phone, but using camera glasses secured with a strap A. does not risk other riders safety and B. does not put ride ops in a tough spot because they never see the small camera, but what kyle did is unsafe and irresponsible, I rode with him actually and warned him about the phone, he did not listen. And btw be glad you even have filming permission at all, it is a privilege most of my friends in the coaster community do not have and have to get creative to work around.

      Yeah, the people who told him to check it out certainly did him a favor. I loved it as a kid and still love it as an adult. I believe they run three, if not four or five, boats, which each hold nine people. So even when there's a line, it's not unbearable. And he was right about the air conditioning; it's a great ride if you've been out in the heat all day.

    I've never been on this Six Flags park. When I lived in New Jersey, I went to Six Flags Great Adventure. Six flags looked a little old and dated. I used to go when I was a young tween pretty often and haven’t been in many years and I guess I was surprised to see how dated it looked. I am sure it was nice that the crowds weren’t anything like Disney but kind of sad to see that crowds were not like they used to be. Wish they would update the park a little. We had heard it was looking run down. Thanks for sharing this video though it brought back some childhood memories as I’ve not seen it since I was a lot younger. Love the fact that they have signs out saying which places have mobile ordering only. Because IMO that would make me go somewhere else that way I'm not on my device all the time.

    We live about 1.5 hours south of Six Flags Over Ga and I grew up going there. I’ve not been in a long time and have heard so many negative things about it over the last few years. Thanks for the video and bringing back so many great memories for me! Looks like Six Flags is coming back!

    I have to say you made me laugh when you said you're getting old, and can't ride the wooden coasters anymore. I'm 48, and my mama is 67, and we both still love riding the wooden coasters.😁

    I live about 30 minutes to six flags and I go maybe 1 every 5 years. I recently went and I was SOO disappointed. :( the coasters made me feel so sick and I never feel that way on any of the universal or Disney coasters

    Glad to see you enjoyed Six Flags and hope you enjoyed visiting the ATL. I live here and love it but we also love Orlando and Disney. We will be there in October.

    Awesome video Dev! You got lucky with a slow day this time of year! We covered thins park before moving to Orlando. This park does have an awesome coaster line up. Happy that you had a good day there you showcased this park well. see you in the parks! The mind bender was just re tracked last year and new cars where placed on it as well. The scream machine was also just redone as well. It was a few years for the scream machine to get referbed, it really needed it. They also count that as a 3 loop coaster and it is an ACE landmark. All the flat rides that where added into Gotham where placed there about 2 yrs ago, and that batman coaster is one of the oldest ones out there and does need some love. The merch in the park has always been really affordable. The axis theater was used for the batman stunt show. That ride was splash river falls, they took that out a few years ago. That superman is the only superman coaster that used the lay out of the land into the track design. This is the 1st year for the fuel rods in that park. This park also really doesnt have many characters out in the park ever. That valet parking is new to that park as well.
