@@elbowz_ now my mate 20 pro arrived and my friend show me his p20 pro and we compared them. To be honest 8 times of 10 I preffered the images from p20 pro. I know the colors maybe not accurate but the photos looks better for my eyes. Before someone start to cry I don't understand the color accuracy, I'm a wedding photographer in UK.

The picture on your P20 Pro has flares. Indicatibg a smudged lens or dirty. Make sure to wipe it clean next time.
Did they correct the drawbacks you have mentioned in the launched phones ????

According to other youtuber, mate 20 pro tunes down a bit on the color saturation, when AI is on, to produce the image with vivid color but not over saturated.
Watching this on a mate 20! I needed a phone real quick so I just bought the first one I saw at mediamarkt but this thing isn't bad at all!
P20 Pro is a beast though. I prefer its photography, especially the night mode, which is a big plus thanks to the monochrome lens.
Another important thing to mention is the sound quality which is amazing on the P20 Pro, and the microphone on it also does a great job compared to Mate 20 Pro.
Actually, I've been using the P20 Pro for recording my own music clips, and it works like magic indeed.
The only drawbacks on the P20 Pro, for me of course, are:
- lack of stabilization for 4K video recording (though I don't need it as fhd is sufficient for me)
- the camera set is located on the side of the device, which makes you struggle to adjust for the right angle while taking photos from a close distance. I wish the "LEICA Trilogy" had been centered on the back of the device as on the Mate 20 Pro, instead of being put aside.
This is what matters for me as I'm into photography and A/V recording.. but others may prefer the Mate 20 Pro for other stuff like the design (which I see is better), under-sceen FS, and maybe the battery 200 extra mAh capacity for heavy users (P20 Pro does a great job in this respect too), and also the pixel density for some.
All in all, the Mate 20 Pro is a nice phone, but the P20 Pro is my mate.

Ha ha! I'm not p20pro. But I have already used Android 9 Pie. Android 9 Pie feels really good.
Mate 20 Pro got around 7-10 points more than P20 Pro in DXOMark test.

I prefer the camera on the Mate during the day but i hate the curved screen design 😭 The P20 looks better in low light so since being a nightowl this might be better for me.
Here's my opinion: Both of these phones are awesome.
P20 and Mate 20 both have different advantages im different scenarios.
P20 might be more of a daily driver, where as the Mate 20 is more of a "higher tech" phone.
Also the Mate 20's software is more up to date.
So for me the Mate 20 Pro is better.

I wish the Mate 20 Pro would have a monochrome sensor and no round edges. But I have to say I rarely take photos in low light. So I might buy it.
I bought it. I I've been texting with Huawei a lot. Suggested to get rid of the edge display. And some other stuff. I'm shocked that there are not a lot of outdoor cases that fit. In fact. Only one. Love mei.
People might have choose mate 20 pro as the best but I think p20 pro is the winner since it got OIS in all 3 rear camera. It's a great phone for a concert you know

Very interesting comparison. Tbh the p20 pro looks great with the night mode, but the mate 20 has a better selfie option and the wide angle lens. I'm stuck with choosing both of them :P

Huge advantage in the Mate 20 Pros image stabilization. It’s one of the best there is. P20 0ro is a great bargain right now. You can get one for under $200!

Interesting. For photos its a bit of a mixed bag between the Mate 20 pro and the P20 pro. The Mate was better for daylight shots in most but not all cases. For night shots the P20 pro wins. But with video the P20 really sucks, having fuzzy looking image and no stabilization on 4k. The Mate 20 is better for the rear camera, but strangely has no stabilization for the front camera. Portraits looked kind of poor on both, with the skin details completely smoothed out.

I have literally just boxed up my p20 pro to give to my son while ive just got a mate 20 pro and i have to admit there is a lot i prefer about the pro. Prefer ther flat screen and not a fan of the edge, smaller bezel is a plus on the p20 pro and i generally thin the design and looks of the p20 pro is a much nicer phone....really regretting upgrading now tbh but time will see
So have they fixed the "Night mode" on the mate 20 pro ? It looks so much worse than the P20 pro in this video. Any mate 20 pro people confirming this issue? Im a S8+ user and looking to switch to MATE 20 pro due to the insane camera / nightshots.......but p20 pro seems better at night here? dafuk

Please compare them in pro mode, both the P20 and Mate 20 Pro aren't designed to be point and shoot, what's the point in the 40mp sensor if you don't use it?
The 40 mp is used for pixel binning. In 40 mp mode, there is less dynamic range, so it's not always the best choice.

1:00 P20 Pro has a better overall photo. Look how weird the Mate 20 Pro one is with a light overcast the left side of the photo making it looking like some kind of mist there.

When you’re brought p20pro , first u should learn how to take a good photo.

i don't know why but u take very bad pictures from other youtubers using the mate 20 pro but if this is the picture coming from mate 20 pro(which u took) then even the single lens iphone xr is better but if its from other youtubers comparisons, then its mate 20 pro but yeah i agree p20 pro is better at night but lack the details of the mate 20 pro

Actually the camera setup is are the same but mostly the winner is P20 Pro. Huawei is made a big success with the P20 Pro triple camera development but the Mate series is don't have this kind of improve actually it's just some of software tricks. Probably the Huawei is kept this movement and crow for the next monster which is P30 Pro :)...

+izurite Actually, the camera set up are nearly identical with each other. The only difference between them are the:
- B&W/Monochrome lens from the P20's 20MP lens,
- Wide or ultrawide lens from both 20MP lens (27mm for P20, 16mm for Mate 20),
- different aperture from the 20MP lens (f/1.6 on P20, f/2.4 on Mate 20),
- Optical zoom (3x on P20, 5x on P20).
The rest... are just exactly the same.
