Mr Vajpayee was a true statesman. He never held political grudges. His politics was driven by consensus and his speeches or rhetoric were civilized. It's hard to imagine this kind of leader in today's highly polarized and partisan polity with a power hungry mindset.

Long gone is the time when politicians respected each other and kept the national interest well above the political interest.

Although I have heard these stories from Shekhar Ji before, it is a joy to hear this with regards to our beloved Atalji. Shekhar Ji should definitely consider penning his memoirs - he carries many memories from our collective consciousness between 1970s and now

Vajpayee ji words on starting a war was perfect and unfortunate that Putin has not heard those words… otherwise he would have thought twice before attacking Ukraine

Make a difference and not to worry about them.

We salute the great leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. However, in present times, much like the poet Chand Bardai, who authored Prithviraj Raso and was known as a 'Chāṭak' (A "Chāṭak" poet refers to someone who praises and glorifies the ruling government or leadership, often creating works that highlight their virtues, accomplishments, or vision. The idea stems from historical times when poets or writers often composed verses to please kings or rulers, either out of genuine admiration, loyalty, or sometimes for personal gain or favor.) in his era, we see a similar role being played by 'ThePrint' Editor-in-Chief, Shekhar Gupta, and many more in our time.

Imagine if India could find someone like Atalji again. Someone who can unify, can reach across the aisle and build consensus. Create laws and regulations with India’s future in mind without deceit and conceit.

Same Arun ji saved Amit shah in the courts for years. Remained Cabinet Minister after losing the elections. Finance Ministry in Mr. Modi 's full majority government happens when u are his close guy. Sushma ji was an External Minister and a very respected one. Her daughter is an MP. Has a great future. Try harder. 😂

Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayi ji was a poet and a gentleman but he was not a powerfull leader that India needed at that very moment of crisis. That's why communist journalist adore him so much.
