2003 Ninja turtles series was my favorite series of all time. Great production quality, highly variable voices for every turtle that were absolutely perfect fits for their characters, awesome animation style, it had it all. Except for season 7, Back to the Sewers, where, for some reason, they decided to give them all visible pupils that made them slightly less intimidating, and the relatively consistent and serious overall tone of the series took a turn toward being more kid friendly and graspable to children. Fast Forward was season 6 of the 2003 TMNT.
I'm glad he's doing blindbags all week. I recently introduced my 60 year old father to Ashens and me and him can finally sit around together and watch something we both like.
"Cody"? Really? Imagine how disappointed a kid would be if he only got one of these bags, and it had Cody in it. I don't care if the kid likes Cody or not, it's Ninja Turtles/Splinter....or Cody.
There's a Power Rangers crossover with Ninja Turtles (Yes, really). But in the UK version of that episode they awkwardly cut it so the Yellow Ranger says "It's the Teenage MutantTurtles!".
three sectioned staves(plural of staff) are Chinese also samurai used shuriken more than ninjas also a kunai is a farm tool used to dig up potatoes, spread tar, irrigate fields and, hunting
Epuslso well, the start of ninjas were farmers who assassinated their samurai rulers through their tools, don't remember how shurikens came to be At least, that's what I think I remember from school
@@hector-m-carrillo then you remember wrong. Ninja were basically the inteligence service of feudal Japan and they recruited both commoners and Samurai alike. Most ninja weren't even trained fighters - there were ninja propaganda specialist, ninja accountants, ninja cartographers etc.
1:10 I love how he says its clearly from the future because the giant mutant turtles are holding lightsabers. Because giant mutant turtles are so 21st century. ;)
Normally, it's more entertaining when Stuart burns things he doesn't like, but there's definitely something satisfying about watching items ascend to shelfhood.
The funny thing is, Ashens doesnt really care about the action figures, video games or merchandise he reviews either This channel is a big ol' I dont care fest. And I freaking love it.
I think he's got a system whereby the Shelf is a rotating system, meaning that it won't end up too cluttered and that the lower number of figures means that they all stand out as opposed to having to look through a crowd of figures every time. Also, that Leonardo figure does seem pretty decent; actually kinda impressed there.
Fast Forward was the sixth season of the 4kids 2003 TMNT cartoon series and yes they got sent into the future. Also nice collection of Sega Saturn games, I approve. ;)
I watched one episode of that cartoon when I was younger and from 2:13 - 2:35 you said just about everything I said when I watched that episode, which really shows you their overall quality.
Ashens. I'd love to see a video of all the items that have been and are still on the shelf of interesting items. maybe like a 1 minute long clip every week of an update of the shelf. that would be badass.
Just in case Ashens doesn't know. They rebooted the TV show in the early 2000s, and were allowed to use the word Ninja and all the proper weapons. I quite enjoyed watching it growing up. At some point (after I stopped watching), they were able to go to the future, which started a series that was set in this place.
yeah, a few years ago they made this series where cody is april and casey's son in the future or something and he makes a time window that lets him look back at the turtles adventures, but it misfires and drags them into the future! so the goal of the show is to send them back to their own time
Don't recall hearing much about the "Fast Forward" series, but hear the quality dropped from the initial 2003 series before. The first episodes kinda amusing if your into seeing the turtles (and Splinter) buck naked for half of it as they get whisked away into the future and go through trying to figure it out.
I do know the answer to this - the BBFC (film censors) and OFCOM, in the early 1990s, had this thing about martial arts weapons and "imitable techniques." Basically they didn't want little Timmy to hurt himself with improv nunchucks by doing what he'd seen the Turtles to do and the producers didn't want to get sued over that.
i never remembered the turtles looking so humanoid... maybe its just me, but their shoulders look broader than usual (maybe its armor?). and your description of those cards made me laugh
The weird padding was actually brought in as part of the world building. In the future, Earth has some many aliens that zones have different gravity and such to accommodate them, and thus these are required pieces of technology that regulates that to your specific needs. I don't think they ever really followed up on that though, lile they never made it lighter to jump higher or whatever. Still, a nice touch.
I loved that series as a kid.not the fast forward, the first part. You get what I mean.like the 1st to 3rd(?)season(?) I think were the good ones...I can't remember.
I don't collect or really care about the toys and action figures or videogames/merch that Ashens reviews, and yet, i eagerly await every new video. "The Ashens Conundrum"
I was excited for about half a second before I finished reading the title and saw it was Fast Forward. Then I was hoping it would burn. And look at those swords: completely impractical draw set-up there.
If I remember correctly, TMNT fast forward was on air for a month (note that a new episode came out once a week) That cody kid was the ......great grandkid? of casey jones and april o'niel.
i use to love teenager mutant ninja turtles when i was a kid but am sure they where always called tmnt when i was a kid. Great vid ashens keep it up ya spolin us lol.
Well kunai are a valid alternative to Shuriken, and the three-sectioned staff is actually the eastern weapon that the two-sectioned pseudo-nunchakus bastardized, so those changes are actually pretty excusable (even sensible) in the grand scheme of things...
I've never seen these before and as a huge TMNT fan I'd love to have at least one. And for some reason the below comments aren't showing up so I can't tell if it's explained, but Cody is Casey and April's great-grandson.
The shelf of interesting items is always in flux! Its too good for the world of Ashens, so different items phase on and off it from time to time. It actually took Stuart 19 months to get a shot where the turtle would stay on screen. This is what he is doing between videos.
Nope, TB now has full say on it, Northern Lion he invited previously also is from another network, machinema. It really comes down now to if Ashens would have time and desire for it.
I read somewhere that there was a law in much of Europe (started in Germany I think) that stated no product could contain the name Ninja in any way. Seriously. Go back to the NES library and read some of the PAL titles. Shadow Of The Ninja became something like Blue Shadow.
the shelf hasn't seen anything for a while. hooray! actually I legit wouldn't mind having the splinter one of these. Ninja rat-guys are the best kind of rat-guys.
In this cartoon the turtles were brought to the far future by Cody who's a descendent of April O'Neil and Casey Jones.
I would kill myself if I knew this information

Still the best tmnt.
I remember watching this TMNT series back then in 2007. It was actually good and this video bring some memories to me :)
I'm glad he's doing blindbags all week. I recently introduced my 60 year old father to Ashens and me and him can finally sit around together and watch something we both like.

TXF Cody the Fifth... Turtle? Nah, the Fifth Wheel.
+ThePreciseClimber Why not Casey Jones?
+ThePreciseClimber The 5th Ninja Turtle was Venus
+周歡悅
You know what they say about Venus...
IT'S A TRAP!
bah dum tss XD
Just imagine the rage that would have been had if he had got the cody one.
Yes?
The funny thing is The fresh Prince Of Bel-Air is on when I watched this video.
Uncle Phil voiced Shredder in the original series.
Thank god Leonardo survived "The Shredder". Get it?
Back in 1980s "I wanna be a ninja when i grow up!" -gasp- "YOU SAID THE N-WORD!!"
Ninja, please!
Jspyster
Wow, your profile picture is perfect for that statement.
RobotSnake Not really
dont you mean Back in 1980s i wanna be a hero when i grow up
Really ninja
Hero Turtles doesn't sound as badass or as catchy as Ninja Turtles.
You literally just finished explaining why they were called Hero and not Ninja as I was pushing post. D'oh!
There's a Power Rangers crossover with Ninja Turtles (Yes, really). But in the UK version of that episode they awkwardly cut it so the Yellow Ranger says "It's the Teenage MutantTurtles!".
Every time I see a new one of these I watch it and then check the channel for more in the hopes I'd missed one. Nope. Love it!
"Do what, John?"
kudos for Python ref.
It's been so long since we had a new addition to the shelf! Also, lovely display you set up, with all the freeks and mutants gathered around.
... wat. Aren't Kunais associated with Ninjas as much as Shuriken are? And same with 3 sectioned staffs? How does that even make sense
three sectioned staves(plural of staff) are Chinese also samurai used shuriken more than ninjas also a kunai is a farm tool used to dig up potatoes, spread tar, irrigate fields and, hunting
Epuslso
Also, ninja hardly used kunai at all, and they weren't for throwing.
ChickenPika I am a ninja, just ask me if you have any questions guys. :)

First time I've seen anything I can recognize on the shelf. I feel proud.
I'd love a Cody figure so when a friend comes over and say "What the heck is that?" I say "That's Cody. Yup. Cody. Praise me."
1:10 I love how he says its clearly from the future because the giant mutant turtles are holding lightsabers. Because giant mutant turtles are so 21st century. ;)
Shhh, nobody tell them how old TMNT is
Nostalgia from Saturday mornings as a kid. How did I ever love that show?
Normally, it's more entertaining when Stuart burns things he doesn't like, but there's definitely something satisfying about watching items ascend to shelfhood.
sega saturn collection, very nice
You are an amazing judge of character, you know that?
To be able to see what kind of person i am just from a few youtube comments. Truly remarkable.
Yeah thanks to the UKs stupid rule on the ninja is bad thing Michelangelo didn't have his nunchucks anymore and that stupid grappling hook
Seeing them make it to the shelf makes me so happy for some reason.
The sound of the foil packaging is killing me in the best possible way. I love it.
The funny thing is, Ashens doesnt really care about the action figures, video games or merchandise he reviews either
This channel is a big ol' I dont care fest. And I freaking love it.
Leonardo survives the torch and makes his way onto the shelf of interesting items yayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!
It's... it's not awful.
Holy shit, it actually looks pretty good.
I think he's got a system whereby the Shelf is a rotating system, meaning that it won't end up too cluttered and that the lower number of figures means that they all stand out as opposed to having to look through a crowd of figures every time.

Wow, I would kill for this set! So cool! There are none to be had on Ebay.....
YES! Oh I do love it when something nifty goes on the shelf of interesting items.
Stuart sounded absolutely delighted.
I love the song that plays when an item is put on the shelf
The Shelf of Interesting Items song never fails to make me smile.
Hmm... Shades of Battletoads.
I like when the item makes it to the shelf, It makes me feel like I can achieve anything.

I've to say Ashens has gotten a lot more funnier lately... the opening ''song'' cracked me up.
Just in case Ashens doesn't know. They rebooted the TV show in the early 2000s, and were allowed to use the word Ninja and all the proper weapons. I quite enjoyed watching it growing up. You have earned my whole respect with your picture.
I used to really like TMNT fast forward. The 4kids TMNT stuff had an entire race of alien triceratops. Not so good on the rewatch but I loved it.
I suspect that if he'd have gotten this "Cody", we may have witnessed another torching instead... Glad a turtle graced the holy shelf instead. :)
Ashens really is a triumph of objective criticism.
Don't recall hearing much about the "Fast Forward" series, but hear the quality dropped from the initial 2003 series before. I remember this series. Long and drawn out, but I liked the art style more than some of the football-heads of the time.
The Shelf of Interesting Items is shaping up to look like a display of the most awesome and awkward super hero squad.
This looks so much nicer than the new blind bag figures for the current TMNT cartoon.
That is probably the biggest collection of Sega Saturn games I've seen in decades.
Ashens must need a library-size shelf of interesting items by now.
Ah, it's been a while since he's found something this good.
I do know the answer to this - the BBFC (film censors) and OFCOM, in the early 1990s, had this thing about martial arts weapons and "imitable techniques." This couch is legendary at this point.
I hope that, since Ashens is a fan, he'll be covering some Doctor Who blind bags in time for the 50th Anniversary.
He looks like a fucking badass on the shelf and totally belongs there xD

Cowabunga! Leo joins DK, Bigfoot, scooby, the skeleton head, and others on the shelf :D
Thanks for the reminder, almost forgo about my steering wheel on the attic. i should go get it next time :)
If I remember correctly, TMNT fast forward was on air for a month (note that a new episode came out once a week) That cody kid was the ......great grandkid? of casey jones and april o'niel.
god, this show is ancient!!! (about 6 years) It used to be my favourite.
I love how you used hero!
i use to love teenager mutant ninja turtles when i was a kid but am sure they where always called tmnt when i was a kid. Great vid ashens keep it up ya spolin us lol.
tmnt fast forward was amazing, the same 20 episodes were on citv for 5 years. EVERY WEEKND!
Not any more. It was only the 80's show that was 'TMHT', but the 2003 show was called 'TMNT'.
Still haven't watched all the episodes. The maltese hamster is my most memorable one
Don't Know why, but....i get excited when he adds a toy to the Shelf of Interesting Items.

Excellent collection of Saturn games!
I remember watching TMNT fast forward when I was like 8 ahhh the shit old days
good thing you got the best turtle as well.

awesome to see you have a sega saturn collection, you should do a video on that at some point :D
a piece of the shelf of interesting items would probably be worth more then a piece of the "true cross"
yes, the rest of europe got the UK-version... with all of michel-angelos nun-chuk action cut away and them being called hero turtles
I remember that show! It was the season they decided to just tell you in the title to fast forward and skip it, it was so bad.
"Hero" has the same number of syllables as "Ninja" so I'd guess it'd go about the same.
