What does even “clean” mean? For me it means primarily hitting through the ball instead of mostly brushing up on the ball for spin. Obviously everyone hits with a mixture of spin and flat, but I consider “clean” hitters who rely mostly on hitting the ball in the center of the sweetspot of the racquet and using less brush up motion, meaning a bit more linear swing path and more flat. Hence Fonseca’s forehands don’t seem that “clean” to me. Hitting “clean” is just much easier when you are using a linear swing path. For example Federer is the ultimate clean hitter on his forehand

Fonseca is by far the most exciting prospect from this bunch. His body has filled out significantly from when I last saw him. Game reminds me of Sinner’s. Van Assche’s backhand is a carbon copy of Murray’s.
Fonseca’s ball striking is so good and has great depth being able to cover the entire court really well too. Hoping to see him more on the main tour in 2025. Shang has unfortunately been disappointing in Jeddah so far. He hasn’t played all that well since after winning in Chengdu. Looks like he was dealing with a bit of an injury here. Hoping he gets a win against michelsen (although unlikely) to gain some confidence for 2025

Serve used to be just a way to start the point. Now it's a weapon for every player, playing the let serves just adds a bit of surprise and excitement, and reduces waiting time
