  • Hey everyone, here is a Temu Dollhouse Miniatures Haul where I try to only buy things that would work in a late Georgian aka Jane Austen era doll house. There is also a channel update at the end of the video.
I have a pinterest board where I try to link all the supplies I use in my videos:

I absolutely hate moving! I wish you luck! It Hass to be quite nerve-racking to not really know where you’re going. It always seems like such a mad scramble trying to organize the selling of one place and figuring out where to go into a new place along a certain timeline. I selfishly hope that you will be in a place where you can continue to do videos! I love the idea about doing things in a normal life scale and a miniature scale, like you showed the sun catchers. I’ll pretty much watch you do anything, even if it’s not some thing that I would be able to do. I’ve always been interested in trying embroidery, but I’ve never actually made a start. I hope that you are able to soak up lots of wonderful memories and sunshine and time on the lake before you move onto your next adventure. ❤

Aw thanks Jen, that is what I like to hear. All the things I make bring me joy, and that is my goal in sharing- to help others bring joy into their spaces, whether they be real size or 1/12! ❤

I have many interests as well and sometimes I despair that I cannot stick to one or even two. LOL would be much easier and cheaper. I love your videos and your art so I'm here to stay. The resin windows look great. I've just started to make moulds and use resin to cast. Best of luck during your moving house. Terrible and busy time but hope the new place is going to be home as well. xo

Lol, you should know how many time I think to myself : I don’t need an other hobby , I don’t need an other hobby …. No I am not going to try it out … just ending up starting an other craft hobby and trying it out . I do miniature, soap making, scrap books, painting, paper making, embroidery and slow stitching , Minhwa painting, korean paper art, pottery painting, clay sculpting …. So I am already interested in the window glass thing .
I will just go along with the flow on your channel.
I don’t understand about the moving part . You are moving but you don’t have a new place yet ? Is that correct ? That must be stressful . Good luck and see you soon in a new video 🤗

      You understand me!
Yes, we are moving and we haven't found another place yet. We invest in real estate so it has to be the right place. We may rent for a while if necessary.

Wow! I haven't seen most of the miniatures you bought. What search term did you use?
I think the jewelry box I bought is completely sold out, but I'm glad you at least got a little sewing box. I got one, too in a haul I haven't posted yet. I'm thinking of using my heat gun to see if I can remove some items. Just curious.
Buying small items as dollhouse decor was a great idea! I love those little animals.
I've seen channels from artists who dabble in a range of hobbies and post them all to one channel. I would probably stick to the miniatures but would watch something else from time to time, if it interested me. The Nesting Dolls are really cool. I'd watch you paint those.

I just searched for the word "miniature" at first. Then I did just "doll" which is how I found the nesting dolls and peg dolls. Then I think I searched for "brass statue". I just logged on to check. I stumbled upon a "mini Chinese retro cosmetic box" which looks promising.
I was thinking that if I taught a skill that could be used to make Minis or full size items it might appeal to a wider audience. But, I think what I struggled with the most was sticking to filming and editing that whole nook to roombox conversion. Most of my other miniature projects don't last that long so it might end up being easier than I was thinking to just demo miniatures in general.

Special thanks to the person who suggested an inconspicuous tone to alert that text is on the screen.

As far as the white statue is concerned, try putting it in boiling water and leaving it there for a few minutes. You can easily slice off the bottom with a sharp knife. And you can move her back so she doesn’t look so hunched over. That plastic resin that everybody’s using gets extremely soft when it’s hot

Good idea. I'll try it after we move.

Sounds a bit brutal but I would probably cut the head off the statue at the lowest part of the neck and reglue it to a base and repaint! I had been considering getting one of those but felt it was too large as I do 1:24 - cutting it also helps with the large size!

That statue is totally getting surgery once I get done with my move and start working on my cabinet house. 🪚🪚🪚

Have you looked at The House of Miniatures kits on ebay? I got a couple lots and they are perfect for the time period. Maybe I will do a video about them.

How much did this TEMU haul cost?

    • @TaraFinlay
      @TaraFinlay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Good question! I meant to talk about that and forgot. I spend about $100 USD on this including the clothing and nail stuff, which made shipping free. The miniatures were cheaper than retail for the same quality, but artisan pieces would cost more and be higher quality, obviously.
