Nice mate I get a few around that size in the shallows at night they come in hunting whiting .... no need for big leaders 10 to 15lb is ample got a 40+ on a plastic with 15lb they'd rarely bite off Good release

Caught it fishing under the lights at the local boat ramp (Coffs Harbour) on light Bream gear: 1-4kg Daiwa Laguna 702LXS, 1000 Stradic FL, 5lb Fins Braid, 6lb Sunline FC Rock leader, 1/10 TT Lures Nedlockz Jig Head, 2in Zman Greasy Prawn GrubZ. I know it's not the biggest fish but on super light gear my adrenaline was pumping.
You should have taken that fish home and eat it, instead of feeding it to the crabs, Jews are the most fragile fish in the estuary. i have released fish that i thaught was in healthy condition, only to find it floating upside hours later. now if i planned not to keep a jew, i don't even lift it out of the water.
