So, will you be pairing a RX 7800 XT with a Ryzen 5 5600X ?
at 1440p yes! at 1080p no!
This is my current setup 😂 upgraded from the 5600g and 6600xt
no, at least zen 4! and 13th/14th gen intel
@@DarkTyrantTenebria but X3d Zen 3 better than non x3d zen 4
not true. 7600x beats or matches 5800x3d also there's value in switching to am5 for upgrade path years later. @@alenzandria3743
I've the exact pair Ryzen 5 5600x + RX 7800XT but with 16GB of ram & MSI B550 Tomahawk. I get more fps than you on 1440p. And then your ram usage in your test games looks outrageous. You're cooking them.
With the arrival of this new generation a games, are we seeing the end of "6 cores are enough for gaming", like we saw with 4 core CPUs ?
CPU's will be fine with 6C standard for a good while
it's not aboute the core count but how powerful the cores are. It's like saying that a 4 cyl engine is not useful, but some are more powerful than a 8 cyl. If you compare with a r5 7600 there is no such bottleneck...
True...@@hflx
like what hflx said it really depends on the strength of per core, you could have 64 core epic cpu but your going to see arguably worse performance for gaming compared to say a 11 or 12th gen i5 in a very heavy cpu heavy game like star citizen, but to say 6 cores is going to obsolete is definitely wrong, at least for the next 7-8 years at worse.
Yeah it's clearly bottlenecking at 1080p. Almost the same fps at 1080 and 1440p also the gpu usage is almost in the high 70s at times when it should always be above 90% especially in a demanding game like Cyberpunk.
The bottleneck is most likely coming from the motherboard and the ram speed but primarily the motherboard. Cpu and gpu are not running at max capacity in terms of data transfer due to the limiting pcie gen 3 of the b450 chipset which is being used in these tests.
Why is you ram usage so high?
Great graphics card. But it needs a 5800X3D beside it
Im getting much worse FPS, like 50-65fps and worse on any quality setting in Cyberpunk with a 7800XT and 2700X on a X470 Mobo on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Would upgrading the CPU help at all? When I look at the CPU utilization it's around 80-85% so it's not maxing out but I cannot get the FPS up above 60 fps consistently in any graphic preset. Even in the medium preset the FPS never goes above 70, and the average is like 58fps. The fans on the GPU aren't even really spinning all that much which I guess means it isn't being taxed a lot. Im thinking it's the CPU but the utilization isn't maxing out so idk.
Yes, upgrade the cpu to at least a 5600, if possible to a 5700x3d since that will give you a massive boost in performance. You need to see if the GPU is at 100% not the cpu. In fact if the cpu is at 100% is not a good thing
@@SinNumero_no41 thanks for the info! The GPU was like 80-90% on utilization. I just ordered a 5700x so I'm hoping that helps!
@@SinNumero_no41 just an update. I installed the 5700X. What a difference it made. Huge jump in performance between this and the 2700x in game. I'm averaging like 80-90 fps with high settings at 1440p now in Cyberpunk.
@@Slider712Thats great to hear.
@@SinNumero_no41 Hi! sorry to bother, but i have a ryzen5 5500 and am about to order the 7800x. would i need to upgrade my cpu as well?
Based from your experience, would you recommend it for 1440p gaming especially to games that are more CPU bound?
The 7800xt is a great 1440p GPU

hey man, I am currently running a system with 5600x and 3060ti, been thinking about upgrade to 7800xt, my system struggle with staying 60 fps in cyberpunk, I wonder how the 7800xt perform in area like dog town, is it possible to run the game above 60 fps in either fhd or 2k?
Would highly recommend you upgrade your CPU
I want to change from 6750XT to 7800XT. 2k monitor.
I have Ryzen 5 5600 without X.
Can I rely on this video?
This video is made for cases like yourself
Dude don't. 6750 us a super card and its gonna be good for like 2-3 years. Save money and upgrade at rx 8000 gpus 😂😂
7800 XT is 17% better.
@@DanielFernandez-pn3ed well unless he was a realiable way of selling his used gpu thats a really big invesment for just 17% improvement
Did you use native resolution or fsr?
Native
Is the 5600X too different from the regular 5600? Asking because I own one, and I'm thinking of getting a 7800XT. Obviously I will upgrade the CPU in the future as well, but the budget is a little tight rn.
Not much difference better stay at 5600
@@LieLoops Oh I didn't mean I wanted to upgrade to a 5600X haha. I was asking just to have an idea if that's how my PC will run games with a 7800XT. Definitely intend to get something better in the future, CPU-wise.
@@Arthur_url Only difference is 200mhz from the 5600 to 5600x
i have rx7800xt+ ryzen 3600 im using 1440p monitor 144hz should i change my cpu to 5700x?? tnx
Ofc you shouls, the bottleneck with that CPU has to be very bad, careful if your motherboard is NOT compatible with the ryzen 5000 gen, i would recommend u 5800X3D instead but as you please thats my opinion you can do whatever you want, good luck!
Yes that would be a significant upgrade. If you can go with a 5700x3D that would be a significant upgrade. Don't forget to update your bios and so on.
And go for B550 mobo & not 450
Is it good for 1080p gaming? Coz o have 1080p monitor and cannot spend money for 1440p monitor :(
It's a beast at 1080P
Gracias por el video. Tengo Ryzen 5600 y quiero cambiar GPU a 7800 XT con monitor 1440p. Este video me aclaro dudas
Ya lo adquiriste? De ser asi que tal te fue?
Thanks for the video. Correct me if I'm wrong on the following: So the b450 chipset already limits the gpu to only pci gen3 which reduces the data transfer of your gpu by 50% as opposed to pci gen4 (b550 and up). Ram speed could also be ramped up to 3200mhz which could give a bit of a boost in performance as well. Upgrading to b550 might be an excellent path
No it would be a waste of time. the pci 3.0 standard will not bottleneck in any measurble way outside of advanced benchmarks. the upgrae to b550 now is a total waste of money - it is a dead pathway. save your money and put it towards a ryzen 7 platform
@@georgebishop4941ryzen 7 3700x still runs on the am4 socket 🤪
where are you getting a 50% data transfer loss? That is wrong.
You mean *am5 platform@@georgebishop4941
What gives with this insane ram usage. Something is wrong.
is 750w powersupply enough for rx 7800 xt + r5 5600x and 32gb???
A good quality 650w will be enough, 750w even better since you have headroom for upgrades. I have a seasonic G750w PSU, a Merc 7800xt (factory OC) paired with a 5600 non X Oc'ed to 4.7 and 32gb of DDR4 3400 and my total system power with 5x 120mm fans, 2x m.2 NVME ssd and gaming keyboard\mouse hovers around 550w with OCCT PSU test measured at the power outlet. Make sure to use 2 separate cables for the 2x 8 pins on the GPU to reduce voltage drop. Hope this helps!
I think about bought a ryzen 5 5600x for my rx 7800xt, if i want 4k 60fps i get bottlenecked?
ofc not
please someone tell me 5600 and 7700xt will bottleneck on 1080p ultra settings
Pair them with a B550 mobo & not B450 & 3600mhz CL16 ram kit.
i have 5700g, can i run with 7800xt at 1440p ?
5700g=3600 in game
B550 over B450 wont bottleneck Ryzen 5 5600x + RX 7800XT

Bottleneck calculator says about 6% bottleneck at 1440p on a 5600X.
Upgrading to a 5700X drops that to 0%.
There's barely any difference between a 5600x, 5800x and 5900x
