    I've never seen a towrope as puny and short as that. It might suffice in a flat calm sea close to shore but any swell would part that in minutes. No mention of an in-date liferaft either.

      Thanks for your comment. The video is showing what's required by French law in coastal waters, a life raft isn't required until your >6NM. Granted tow rope could be better!

    Nice to see that the gendarmerie have encouraged thinking about safety. However, that item is not a pump! That little sucker will drain water/oil from small spaces. A pump moves lots and lots of water! 😀 so best get some buckets. PS also you could recommend a first aid kit, thermal blankets, radar reflector, bottled water etc etc. Remember the requirement is just a legal minimum, you as skipper are responsible for safety.
