I think people need to go easy on the commentators. It was a little painful but I like that UP blood new people in the role and they will learn to keep the chit chat for podcasts and concentrate on the actual match, shot selection, tactics, etc when they are commentating
Less talk about your personal life and more insights into the game. They didn't say anything about the actual game for like 4 frames!
Here's an idea commentators. Start commentating on the game in progress, and you don't have to talk ALL the time either.
Oh my word !! Please don't let these commentate again !! Flipping terrible 😫, I now know their life stories !! Commentate on the fucking game ffs
Hi guys!! I was the commentator on this game! I’ll admit at times in this game it did go off topic and I do apologise for that, however in a lot of areas in this game clearances are made to be formalities that don’t need commentating on, maybe I’m a little unorthodox in that I try to get the background of players out, at the end of the day no sport makes progress without personalities and I hope to portray that in every chance I get so my apologies if it’s not your style, on top of this all conversations were pool related and do contribute to the bigger picture, I hope that’s understandable, luckily for you guys there are 8 other commentators you may also prefer! :)
@@luketell8311 thanks for your feedback, one of my biggest gripes with commentary these days is the need to speak all the time, sometimes silence is golden, not everything needs talking about, but maybe thats just me, and also you say that a lot of clearances are formalities, and yes to people who know how to play the game but you may get people watching who are learning the rules or are just basically starting out and know nothing about the game.
@13slays I totally get that!! Truth is I kind of just entered this world randomly about 8 months ago, when you’re in with the pros at times I am very cautious about what I say in case I’m a mile off so I tend to go down that conversation route, but I will 100% keep this in mind!! Just want to my best for the majority of those involved if I can! :)
@@luketell8311 fair play tho i appreciate you responding to us, that's pretty cool, it's not just you tho, my comments apply to commentary as a whole. One thing that i'm guilty of too when i watch other people play, is when you watch other people play, you always play the right shot and never miss. It's easy when you're not playing.
I timed the commentary remarks between commenting on gameplay and anecdotes. 27% gameplay including pre-shot analysis, 70% anecdotal. It should be reversed, keeping in mind thatwe really appreciate pattern predictions even if wrong.
