Bro im so glad that I ZEALOUSLY, OBSESSIVELY went through as many youtube videos from channels like Parktool before i ever tried to service my own bike ive had multiple learner bikes and ive let all of them slip from me one way or another… but i’ve learned enough to know what he’s doing is- futile. Thumbnail made me think he was gonna get a new fork bars and seatpost and then i realized how dumb that was he’d also have to do a complete drivetrain switch to single speed if he really wants to achieve that wheelie bike feel but at that point you’re reaching the investment amount equal to just buying a complete from a mid range brand
I like the colourful red look of the big ripper but cant wheelie and dont care about learning, so i just used my old mtb, wrappd red duct tape around the frame and cleaned it up a bit. The thing was falling to pieces so i decided to just mess around with it 😅
Bro, you got potential. The fact you made and posted this video shows that you have the ambition to take the first step. But before you plan on taking ‘that bike’ to any kinda’ ride outs, there’s sooooooo much more you need to do to ‘that bike’.
Honestly, I thought he was going to mod the bike to make the transition look like the bikes in the initial video pic post. That's why I watched this video, because I wanted to see myself if he could pull it off, or if the build was possible. But like he said, for starters, he still needed to swap out the handle bar stem, preferably to a 40mm or 50mm mountain bike handlebar stem. Also you would probably wanna swap handlebars. If you plan on wheeling, go with a higher rise, like a 50mm. Most steering tubes on forks are compatible, or 1 1/8. So if you wanted to go with more of a BMX look, you could probably also put a BMX handlebar stem on there. If you do that though, you would have to pay attention to the width and rise of the BMX handlebars you would use. They can't be to high, or it will make for a funky feel and ride. The head tube on that bike looks like it's a 33mm, so you could swap out that headset with a cheap aftermarket one with sealed bearings. You would also probably want to replace those forks with some cheap air forks. Do your research and find the air forks that are the most durable and can handle the abuse you're going to put them through. You could probably use some rigid cruiser BMX forks too. But you would have to make sure they're compatible with the bike's frame dimensions, and the same size as your wheels. You also wanna swap out the 3X crankset for probably a 1X square taper or hollow tech crankset, with a 30T to a 34T chainring, your preference in cadence. You could change it to a single speed, or if you wanted to keep the gears, you could get a cheap aftermarket derailleur that should improve your shifting and peddling under load. If the chain keeps coming off, get a chain guide. He probably has mechanical disks brakes on that bike, so go ahead and buy a new brake set, and upgrade the brake calipers on there too, 2 piston if possible. And get some 2-finger brake levers. Upgrading the braking system will make for more responsive breaking, which you need for doing wheelies or trying to do tricks. You can go the hydraulic route, but if you're trying to do a build on a budget, hydraulic brakes can get a lil pricey and are tricky to install and adjust. A bike like that, you would probably need to pump $500 to $1000 into it to make it a solid hybrid BMX cruiser. But it could be done, and on a budget. Alot of parts are universal, or standard. You can still find alot of parts cheap, and any aftermarket part you can buy and install on a bike of this quality will probably be better and provide better performance than what came on the bike stock. Just take your time and turn it into a project that you could do over the course of maybe 1 to 2 years.

dude lift the seat till you knee is allmost strate put bmx bars on and you will need longer gear and brake cables just to start with it will make it much better for wheelies bro

Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
Get odi grips the se ones suck And the seat clamp get it on ride out supply the one you got I had on my big ripper and it sucks the bolt is easy to strip

Take off the biggest and smallest sprocket and keep the middle, get rid of the front derailed completely and it will feel and look so much better
