I'm so scared to sing this song! I'm Andrea and there is a line in this song I have to sing and it's pretty hard for me to sing the line and I also can't train myself too well to sing it because you can't hear Andrea to well, anyways when I try to sing it, it always comes out low and doesn't sound too good... This is one of the hardest songs in the soundtrack in my opinion!
Please give me advice! I'm playing Andrea, but I am an alto, (and tend to sing barritone bcuz most ppl r sopranos in our cast) and the notes are so difficult! Can you give me any advice?
omg the very beginning when Ti Moune dies, I started crying when eurazulie is talking, and then when the little girl starts retelling the story it was soooo touching i love this song
well she didn't exactly give him back - the Beauxhomme took him :p but the part about him giving her false love is pretty messed up. Plus Papa Ge really did mean to kill him in the first place..
I was the assistant choreographer for a local production of this show and it was awesome! I co-choreographed "We Dance" and "Pray" and choreographed "Rain" and "Ti Moune's Dance" on my own. It was first time working on a show instead of being in one and it was a great experience! Though I have to say, during full cast run-throughs, tech and dress rehearsals, I would always leave with a lot of the songs stuck in my head and "A Part of Us" and "Why We Tell the Story" made me wanna cry (I shed a few tears during opening night LOL)!
Ok so I auditioned for Papa Ge but I got Storyteller 3. And you know what I loved being Storyteller 3. I mean I was basically on stage the whole time lmao. So I'm not complaining hehe
I'm a bird, not a lead but anyways the cast is horrible this year and we cut this song so all we sing is why we tell the story. I'm so sad, and the show is tomorrow and half the kids don't even know their ques!
I've been cast as Daniel for my schools production of Once on This Island, I really like playing the part, and our rehearsals have been great, your videos have made it much easier to learn the songs.
This helped me so much!!! Thank you! :) My theater group is doing the whole show process in a week starting on monday and a show friday night this week. I got the part of Mama Euralie!!!:) I have to be off book tomorrow so this helped so much!!!!!! Thank you times infinity!!!!!!! :P
I love this show!!! I'm one of the gossipers. I really wanted Asaka, and I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get her, but I'm still excited =D Ensemble roles are always fun.
I disagree, she was kinda stupid i mean she saved his life, delivered him back to his family, made him fall in love with her, and then he snubbed her because "it's how things are done". He didn't deserve to live :/

Wow, congrats! :) Yep, I just tried out and got the part of Agwe, even though he was going to be cast as a guy! All the guys think I'm really cool now because I got a guy part. So excited! This is like, the best part I've ever gotten!
