    I have been watching your videos for the last 12 months or so, ordered my MYLR last October and took the delivery yesterday, my wife ordered M3LR last week and she is picking hers up tomorrow. Weird how she got hers in a week and mine took 10 months 7 days 16 hours (hey who is counting!)

    My average commute in Georgia is about 100 or more a day. Destinations here are spaced out like Texas. 4 to 500 miles are very necessary

      What it means is -you cannot order it!! You can order many models that are for 2023…..but the LR M3 you are unable to order because it has been halted…..thats the difference…

      @@Cocoatreat "Sold out for 2023" means they will not have any for sale next year. It means their production for 2023 is sold out. Temporarily not taking orders is not nearly the same thing.

    Ryan, I’m a Y reservation holder. I suspect 3LR orders stopped because of oncoming tax incentive:
    - my Y ETA was moved into Dec from Mar. $7500 (if that happens) likely had many people choose to get back in line so line is shortening for this year I bet.
    - 3 LR qualifies but performance doesn’t. This enables Tesla to focus on customers that won’t change their minds and screw their planning since performance model doesn’t qualify for tax break.

    I've been a little concerned about all the different battery types they are using, then realized that in my ICE cars of the past I've never worried about who made the Piston, or where it came from as long as it was reliable.

      As long as the design is the same it wont matter who made the piston. That is NOT the case with Tesla, the different battery types and chemistry could defiantly cause some issues with service and repairs eventually.. Unless ALL of these batteries end up being essentially good for the life of the car.. which should be 1Million miles If not.. then its a problem.

    Anecdotally, I ordered a Model 3 in March. Our delivery date was August, got pushed to September. Delivery slated for Sept 8th reservation. Makes sense 2022 model orders right now can't hit before 2023 given that timeline.

    I find it pretty crazy that the M3 & MY are still so popular after multiple price hikes and high interest rate. I found it barely worth it when I order my M3LR in February at $51k but that's just me. Whatever you buy, be financially responsible.

    I saw an F150 Lighting at a dealership 2 weeks ago in Muncie, IN. They only had 1 and the manager told me they were not allowed to sell it for 6 months. He said when they do sell it, there will be a $20,000 mark up on the list price. Not sure if this is the case at all Ford dealers, but this small town dealer had specific instructions from Ford to not sell the truck yet.

      Depends - there's a $55k msrp cap limit. Also if your gross adjusted income is >$150k single, $300k married, you won't qualify for the EV tax credit.

      Just so you understand, cancelling means you forfeit the pre-order fee paid. That is several hundred dollars gone. If you order again, my 3 I ordered in the early part of this year is only getting delivered Sept 8th. If you re-order after you cancel, and you get luck enough the price goes down below 55k (wont stay there long), then you are paying $500 bucks in wasted pre-order and the 6+ wait time that WILL be going up with the tax credit qualifications if they meet them. So you likely won't see that Tesla until July 2023 if you go that route and wait until after tax credit is confirmed applying to the Tesla 3 at it's price cap.

    A UK perspective delivery dates being quoted from Jan - March 23, so similar wait times to other electric car vendors, but literally 1,000s of model 3 coming off lease after 3 years and going on to reseller sites, most of these with good residuals that are dropping, and you can get them straight away, so no shortage. But people are buying Kias in almost as big numbers as Tesla now, this is due to the price, current pricing is 25% more than just 1 year ago. Tesla not quite the tempting prospect they used to be.... With another price increase then numbers will struggle to gain ground against other manufacturers.

    The M3LR is not available in all of North America including Canada and Mexico(can someone double check if Mexico is included in the sales lockout) if it's for tax related stuff why not just lock sales on US sites?

    Ryan Great Video as always!!!!!! Yeah, Porsche got the fastest time in that track, but the company is mute about the many problems that the battery pack is having and saying nothing. Porsche battery packs are made by LG Energy, and have the same design as the ones originally in the Chevy Volt and Hyundai Ioniq that were involved in spontaneous fires. So yeah Porsche, keep on adding titles but I stay with Tesla.

    With current climate change affecting places like Puerto R. what is the effect of water on the battery pack. Would a Tesla be in any danger if it were immersed in water up past the battery pack? Has that been tested? It seems like a reasonable test but one that probably has not been tried.

    Will tesla 3 long range qualify for 2023 ev tax credit? I've an order for Tesla 3 LR which is scheduled for delivery next week. I'm in IL which has 4K tax credit until September. Should I wait until Jan 2023 for 7500 Federal credit, but IL tax credit might go away.

    I ordered a M3LR in June, arrival was set for October-December. Two weeks ago it was changed to September-October. I looked today Its November - February 2023. What the heck is going on? I was almost in a panic when it said delivery was in September, got all my ducks in a row, ready, now this delay again. It's a rollercoaster, not sure if I want delivery in mid winter.

      The dates are gonna change quite a bit. They try to be conservative in their dates. It will move closer. I order in March it said June delivery. Then moved to October. Then moved to august and then delivered end of June.

    My bet is that when the long range comes back it 1) qualifies for the new rebate by being under $55k; 2) uses a gigacast underbody; and MAYBE 3) has a structural battery pack.

      they don't use the legacy auto terminology - like "Fall 2022 is model 2023"; your manufacturing date is the date. My Model 3 was built in Oct 2018 so 2018 Model 3 (bought 12/31/2018. Hope that helps . you will enjoy.
      The bill appears to say: must take possession in 2023 to get the credit.

    I have a M3 on order since May and qualify for the tax credit except my delivery date is in October. Advisor says I can only postpone 2weeks. What should I do?? Super bummer

      It’s really up to you. Do you value the $7500 more or the 6 months you will have waited?

      I'd wait. the vehicle will be cheaper next year and will qualify for $7.5k. you might be looking at $10-15k in savings

      Wait. They didn’t sell-out of Model 3s, they are waiting to drop the price until next year. For those that take delivery this year you will get to pay more and not get a tax credit.

    As always great video Ryan!!!. I am not sure if tax credit is the reason for Tesla no more taking M3LR orders as we aren't able to order M3LR in Canada as well, but there is no such credit thing here.

    Hopefully tesla using thirsty cement in there massive parking lots to reduce flooding increase groundwater levels.
    Oh and add solar to reduce heat on cars add energy to gride.

    I’ve been looking forward to a 500 mile EV for years now. This makes a lot of sense for people who cannot charge at home, like me. My 300 mile Model S gets supercharged 20% to 80% every week for an effective range of 180mi, and a 500mi pack would realistically give me that magic 300mi.

      Another reason for a 500mile EV is, realistically people drive 70-80mph on the highway greatly reducing the efficiency. That 500mile rating drops down to around 350miles when driving those speeds.

      Yea, especially if you work full time and stopping alot to charge can become an inconvenience especially when gas cars takes couple of minutes to fuel up and go.

      Newer buildings are going to start mandating EV charging for indoor garages. My hope is that eventually, offices will have EV charging spots as well. It'd be easy to implement... they just need level 2 charging which is basically just a washing machine outlet.

    I'm still annoyed that my "1000 miles of free supercharging" (referral) had a time limit on it but I like the concept of a "loyalty program". I hope that the "15,000 km of free supercharging" isn't similarly limited.

    The wait time on model 3 long range prior to this change was only couple of months, so claiming it was/is "sold out" is bit of a stretch; and even if it was, it would be until, not for, 2023. More likely there is some changes coming; maybe related to the incentives and tesla wants to halt the orders until they can figure out the best way to take advantage of those.

    If they drop the LRM3 below the $55k limit they’re going to have to drop the RWD a decent amount as well. If not why would anyone buy the RWD model going forward if the price is only $500 less. There would be no point to make the RWD model.
    They’re going to need to reduce the M3P as well because if the MYP gets the full $7,500 it is now cheaper than the M3P.

      If Teslas are still selling like hotcakes even after multiple price hikes then I don't see why they would decrease the price. The only thing that will drop Teslas' price is competition and I really hope that other manufacturers _really_ pick up the pace in 2023.

    So should I cancel my M3LR due next month? Finding it hard to do this not knowing if the price will actually be lowered next year. Also there are stringent requirements many of which the current version of the M3LR may not qualify for.

    The FSD should go with the driver not the car especially since it’s not fully working! I feel I got duped buying FSD and can’t get it unless I’m somehow approved! $12k for nothing! Not happy 😡

    It’s weird how hyper positive you are on them being battery “agnostic”. For consumers it sucks that they can never truly know what kind of battery solution they are getting, especially if one is supposed to be much safer than the others. Changes to the battery chemistry itself will also have an impact on battery longevity so it’s really confusing to have a new chemistry being introduced but not become the full default. It would be somewhat understandable as production compromises for the cheaper Model 3 but the Model Y is supposed to offer quality of life improvements over the 3. Not knowing if you are actually getting the best possible version while paying $70k is incredibly anti consumer.

      Good points @Marc. The counter would be the fact that the Tesla Warranty on the battery covers all chemistries and the thermal management software will optimize the battery based on its chemical specificity. This is the power of being a software company first.
      From a manufacturing standpoint, this allows Tesla to take the dominant position that "we'll worry about the battery implementation and warranty" - "you worry about the driving experience and reliability." For the average consumer, this arrangement works. Said another way the average consumer could care less about the underlying battery chemistry if the experience and reliability are above excellent.

      @@LoveForTheTruthTV oh believe me I understand the counterpoints and I don’t actually think it’s bad for Tesla to have a diverse supply chain, especially in these early days. But it’s a tad weird to be celebrating/ excusing the lack of information that consumers are getting. Battery day has basically become a combination of self celebration and over promises when it should exist precisely to inform anybody who actually wants the latest info
