@@MasterSommelierPeterNeptune thanks, I will definitely take a look. FYi, there's a lot of folks on YT giving reviews on Costco and Traders Joe's lines. I liked your review on Pinotage, though.
Hi Peter, you are the best teacher I have ever had in wine education. Your good taste, intelligent and educated analysis will benefit wine lovers. Thank you. Michelle from your WSET diploma program.
This is very cool. The premise of analyzing Costco wine is outstanding and should be a recurring segment of your channel since, let’s face it, a lot of us go to Costco and stand in front of the wine cases with very little idea what we’re looking at. Thanks for starting a channel and I look forward to your future videos (and success as a TH-camr!)
Hi Peter, I love your new channel. I am one of your former WSET Level 2 students. After watching your first video, I immediately drove to my local Laguna Niguel Costco and bought 12 bottles of the LaTour de Laroque. Can’t wait to taste it. Thanks so much .
Very much enjoy your professional descriptions of the wine! I follow a number of "wine-based" youtubers and they don't provide the educational aspect that you do. Maybe in the future you'll give us your take on Okanagan wines from BC, Canada. Your insights into how the wine maker's style is really important. Thank you!
My husband and I just found your videos - thank you so much! We really like your videos. We found one of the two you really liked in this video at our Costco and are enjoying it.
@@MasterSommelierPeterNeptune We both subscribed. Thank you so much for these videos. Just watched your video on Limoux - how interesting! We're going to look for it.
Excellent video. With decent lighting, decent editing, a decent camera, and a decent microphone, I could see your channel getting huge. You should be very proud of this first video.
Very nice video. You're very eloquent and passionate. It would be nice if you put the wines you're reviewing in the description of the video for quick referencing. Thanks!
This clip caught my eye.....for 2 reasons! You are a Master Sommelier and you were doing a review of Costco Wines under $20.....I buy a boatload of wines from Costco and I always love it when a wine professional will take the time to review Costco wine offerings! Many folks don't know this but Costco is the largest wine retailer in North America....thanks!
Yes I know that they are the biggest. Stay tuned for my tasting and review of a couple of Kirkland brand wines! Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Wonderful video, it’s clear you are excited by and passionate about wine. And I learned a lot, so full marks. I’m interested in Kirkland wine, Costco is getting better and better as negotiating for their wines, and the Tier 2 markup is largely out. I’d appreciate mixing in a bottle of Kirkland in future Costco vlogs. 🙏🌺
I am soooo fortunate! WOW! I joined Costco last month and visited Total Wines yesterday for the first time to compare. Stumbled over your channel. Love it! Subscribed! I'm with you! Just what I need. Thank you for finally getting off your rear end (your words not mine)😅.
I totally share your taste in food! This was a great tasting and I encourage you to continue. I’m subscribed, so you’d better. Hahaha. Love your spitting in the solo cup. My only criticism is the suit jacket and background. Love the shirt, but otherwise you deserve better. Bon chance!!!
Based on this fellow's recommendation I got the Kirkland Barolo for about 20$. It was OK, but not great. I mean, at that price. Still, I'm dubious about his recommendations.
Don’t you think there’s an inherent contradiction in eschewing objective “scores” of quality but using objective measures of structure, color, aromatic intensity, etc? Either there are objective truths about wine or it’s all fugazi. Not liking the 100 point rating system is a fair criticism but that doesn’t mean all rating schemes are worthless.
Scores are not objective at all. They are completely random. What is the real difference between 89 and 90 points? 99 and 100? I mentioned on a recent video that I saw one of these so-called wine rating experts rated a wine 94+. What is that? 95? 94.5? The whole thing is ridiculous. Meanwhile, passing exams like the MS exam proves that a taster has the quantifiable ability to describe a wine correctly and objectively. I passed the MS exam, the WSET Diploma exam, the CWE exam, and the FWS exam. I hope that you enjoy my videos!

It would helpful if you provide a printed list of the wines. Camera shots can be difficult to read and closed cation miss spell everything.

Nice to see a down-to-earth wine review. I agree, the 100 Point rating is meaningless. Have we ever seen a wine rated at 50 or 60 points?
Right. It is a 10 point scale and a complete joke.
