@@MatthewThewsey did you set the internal microphone manually? I've got a Nikon D7200 and even when I manually set the sensitivity it doesn't sound as good as this.
No, automatic gain control is left on. I must admit, the first time I tried recording bells with this method, I was very surprised that the internal microphone and AGC was able to cope.
Love the sound of the bell at 4:18 what note is it

excellent video Matthew, any chance of a video of the back eight/all ten from the belfry. What camera do you use, it's excellent!
Thanks. I'm waiting for the opportune moment to record the 10. The camera is a 60D, 10-18mm, and using the internal microphone!

@@MatthewThewsey nice bells
How did you know the 9th was up wrong?
Looks like the stay on the 9th had a hard time after all those prangs
That was me. Not used to ringing with the clapper on the wrong side 🙈
Have the back 3 all got wooden shafted clappers?
No. Just the tenor.
Wooden clappers affect other things than just the ringing up ease. The bells aren't rung down often anyway
are they tuned to c or c sharp
C, but a high C. C+44 cents which is not far off C#.
@@RingerJake Thanks the sound like Hereford. cathedral bells because. there tuned to C sharp
They are similar. Similar weight and they're a ten. But Plymouth are definitely in C, not C#.
the 9th went up wrong
Yep. I sort that out at the end of the video.
