The problem with most internships are actually unpaid, especially UN. Yesterday African Union also released a list of internship but they are all unpaid. It's discouraging when you want to apply but you know you won't have money travel to the duty station.
Really? I actually haven't come across internships that are unpaid since I always look for ones that have at least a stipend. I didn't know that the UN one is unpaid...that's not ideal.
Most of the ones I post are paid
@@KatlegoMakgopo Most UN internships are UNPAID, even the one you shared on the link is unpaid. And they require you to work 40 hrs a week, that's explotation. I understand we need to get experience but times are hard, getting taxi money to go to work while you're being unpaid is stressful.Especially when you don't have anyone supporting you.
I totally agree with you, I didn't know this about UN internships. Thanks for making me aware
Hi Katlego. Wow I just wanted to say you have inspired me a lot in terms of choosing the career(environmental science). It's my first year and already Iam finding it difficult to study. Also I just wanted to ask if whether you could help me with any possible pdf documents or anything cause I don't where to start.
Hi Ntombiko, what kind of pdf documents are you referring to?
@@KatlegoMakgopo like PDFs for chemistry 114, physics116 and statistics etc. I would really appreciate it.
Oh like Notes? Okay, I'll see what I can find. In the meantime send me an email
Ma'am if am doing the following modules which field can I specialize on?
Population and demography
Climatology
Gis and remote sensing
Biogeography
Environmental Impact Assessment
Resource evaluation and information system
Pollution analysis and waste management
Green politics and environmental policy
Hello 😊
Well, that depends on your own interests. All these fields qualify as a specialization. So you need to pick the one you are interested in the most
I can't really tell you which one cos my answer is going to be based on what I find the most interesting 😅
But honestly I did most of those modules with the exception of climatology, and ended up "specializing" in conservation cos that was a topic that was the most interesting to me
I would suggest you research what kind of work you would do with each specialization, that may help guide your selection
