Do you think retired staying at home doing nothing is better? This may be the only thing they are good at and proud at, after all they had been doing this for 50 years. What if they are not after the money? They just want a meaningful old age life.
sometime is not about money, is their interest. maybe for them working then meet & chit chat with customer make them more happy & time go faster then they stay at home doing nothing
Nothing to pity about. It’s something they love to do...Working will keep a person motivated with life too, just like our PM. 🙂
There are ppl who find more joy in working than just "enjoying" life.

Most hawkers in Penang will still cook themselves. The pride is there unlike in KL where it's all run by foreign workers.

That's why Penang hawker food is still one of the best. The original operator / cook will personally handle the cooking by themselves rather than delegate it to a foreign worker.

Nowadays hard to find food stall with owner themselves hands on.....usually boss will employ workers from China or elsewhere will mend the stall....standards never the same

There's another wantan mee stall at Gat Lebuh Melayu which sell large wantan mee for rm3.80. Taste good for me but will give this a try one day.
