  • Nimrod Arnin is an entrepreneur, party producer, and bereaved brother. He’s the founder of the Nova community.
On October 7th, the Nova community held an open-air music festival near Kibbutz Re’im in Southern Israel. As part of the attack on Israel that took place on that day, Hamas invaded the festival, massacred 364 people, and kidnapped 40. It is considered the single largest terrorist attack in the history of Israel.
Since those events, the members of the Nova production have been helping to locate missing persons and identify bodies in the first days, and provide ongoing mental support to the survivors in the days and weeks that follow.
Nova currently operates "Merhav Marpe" - an emergency mental health center that accommodates the thousands of young people who attended parties in the areas surrounding the Gaza Strip. Dozens of therapists are working at the center - psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, psychotherapists, and qualified clinical instructors. It also includes communal activities.
In an emotional conversation, Nimrod reveals his personal story - how he survived the terrible massacre, what the days and hours that followed were like, and how the Nova production works to provide continuous support to the survivors. Nimrod's younger sister, Ayelet Arnin, was also murdered in that massacre, and her story was told in this episode.
