Very helpful review! I’ve been attracted by the site and branding, discouraged by the price. But print quality is paramount to me, so you’ve saved me from a big let down. Thanks!
I'm binge watching all your reviews . . . super helpful! I used one company for 10 years and they are obviously falling apart, so now I'm restarting my photo books and don't want to waste time on a bad company. You've been a great source of information, so thank you, thank you, thank you. Also, I can help out here for you - I know English isn't your first language and you've probably never heard this word, so no problem, but "Mohawk" is a name of an Indigenous people in North America (both Canada and the US), and I've only ever heard "Mo-Hawk" (not "moh-awk").
Thanks for this review. It's good to know about the paper limitations, especially considering the cost. Was tempted to try this over Printique/Adorama but now I'm feeling like Printique is still the best option for my preferences.
Call me crazy but I think matte is actually the most popular at the moment, especially with the craze around achieving “film tones” in digital photos, which means faded blacks and muted highlights.
Thank you for this! I'm looking at getting my friend a photobook for christmas but I am not too sure on where to go for it but now I know that I'll have to look at other options
Thanks for the review! For a wedding album, which one do you recommend me: Artifact, MILK, or Kiss photo book? And for a family album which one has better quality: Artifact, Chatbooks or Mixbook?
Thank you for this review! I just received an order of AU hardcover and was indeed underwhelmed with the matte print. What other companies do photobooks with a similar minimalistic aesthetic in your opinion? Thanks!
how do you spell the alternative companies you listed in 17:23 and 18:13? Which alternative do you think is the closest to AU in exterior appearance and minimalist/modern design? @photobookguru

Excellent video , your right its very expensive and living in Australia takes it off the table for me

You might be right, I blame filters

Does anyone know what brand he mentions at minute 17:16? I can't understand in the video :(
Thanks for the review!

I don't know Kiss. Artifact and MILK are very similar, I would say MILK has more options and 6 colour printing too
As always another excellent and informative review. Thanks!
Any thoughts on how AU compares to Blurb? Thanks
print quality is the same but AU is a lot more premium in presentation. Blurb has far more flexibility for editing options and is a lot cheaper
Thanks for the super helpful review! Do you think the print is quality would acceptable/worth the money when using the Lustre paper?
The print quality will be the same on all papers but is perceived nicer and richer on lustre paper than on matt

MILK in New Zealand is very similar but you can create similar styles in most editors, you just need to pick the right elements.
@@PhotoBookGuru thank you!
