I'm a little confused. Isn't that A aeolian if there are no sharps and flats? Am i missing something?
A Aeolian / D dorian... Most of the time the name of the scale is given depending of the first complete mode present on the instrument. On the first one it's from D4->D5, a D Dorian scale with a A central note

Celtic minor is really classic scale for beginners.... I suggest to listen to the "shellopango" scale as an alternative with the same mood but more harmonic diversity (heptatonic instead of the hexatonic Cletic minor)
Anybody...I play acoustic guitar in open D tuning (D A D F♯ A D). Also open G tuning (D G D G B D). I would like to layer some Handpan music onto to my songs when I record. My question: Which Handpan tuning would I need to accommodate my songs?
B minor aeolian for D, or a E minor aeolian for G would work. Celtic in those keys would also work. Note that I am not specifically a hand pan expert :)
