Remember that Dick Grayson was just a wee lad of around 8 years old when his parents were murdered and he became Robin. It's just that we only saw that in flashback.
Fun Fact: The reason for Tim Drake being shown as Robin at such a young age is due to WBKids wanting a younger Robin to cater to a younger audience, since this was the time in the 90s where every kids show had a kid character in it for audiences to relate to.
This episode is an adaptation of the tie in comic Batman Adventures Holiday Special but they used new character designs instead of BTAS designs and they cut a sweet Mr Freeze story from it and a later episode (Mad Love) is also adapted same deal they cut parts and used the redesigns instead of BTAS
She's one video closer to "growing pains." When that video arrives, I'm breaking out the popcorn, and if you've ever seen that episode, then you know why.
This is my favorite episode of BTAS. I watch it every New Years (and that scene with Batman & Gordon at the ends makes me tear up after Conroy’s passing). This episode perfectly encapsulates who each of these characters are and why they’re so popular. Also, if you really want more good Bullock stories, you gotta react to Gotham!
that's because the show was no longer on fox it was moved to kids WB and because of that they were able to do things they hardly couldn't do in the original show when it was on fox
@@blueblur2273 Mixed feelings. I really liked the style of BTAS / Batman and Robin and the revamped style, to make it better fit with STAS, lost some of that brand of magic. (and I just am not a fan of the new Joker, Killer Croc, Catwoman and to a certain extend Poison Ivy's designs). I also am of the opinion that the censors required the original show to be more creative (although there are for sure a few duds), adding something special to those storylines. But, I do agree the stories now feel larger, and how can be to upset with TNBA, if it gets Batman form up with Superman on occasion, and eventually giving us Justice League / JLU.
First of all, I am so glad you have made it to THE NEW BATMAN ADVENTURES (you are going to see the new looks of ALL of the villains here). Second, I believe this is the same voice actor from the original (Ron Perlman) Clayface. Third, I believe in the original series, Dick Grayson was 9 years old when Batman revealed his identity to him (so the original Robin started younger than Tim Drake).
LFG ! you've finally made to The New Adventures of Batman , this season isn't as great as the first 3 seasons but still very good and this season still has some banger episodes two in particular that I can't wait for you to get to
Yeah TNBA was a lot more funnier. This is about as classic Christmas watch as another movie for me. Harley and Ivy drugging and kidnapping Bruce to go shopping is what they’d do. And yeah Bullock may be a loud obnoxious short tempered jerk but he is a good cop and a good man under the cynicism and grumpiness. That ending of Batman and Gordon having a cup of coffee and toasting to surviving another year. People sometimes forget that Bruce Wayne is the mask persona Batman is who he really is and for one moment he can just do something as simple as share coffee with a friend for a moment he’s not fighting bad guys he lets his guard down for one moment and just be human.
This episode feels kind of out place but it's actual fun ngl 😂 7:34 he can be whatever he wants to be 12:22 that hit the feelings, and never broke the tradition
Really loving these reactions! Tou might seek out the new opening credits for this season. When it aired originally, they called it the New Batman/Superman Adventures. The new credits were pretty much colorshifted episode clips, but the new theme music us worth listening to.
Christmastime in Gotham is... about as chaotic as any other time in Gotham. As seen with Gotham Knights making it short stories lets you cut right to the main focus of each one.
I don't remember where I think it was in a tie-in comic Batgirl asked if there was anything between Harley and ivy, with Harley saying they are just friends with her asking the same thing between Babs and supergirl which babs says no
Can’t wait for your Justice league/ unlimited reaction later but just till let u know there is an episode “epilogue” that acts as a conclusion to Batman a beyond so I recommend waiting to watch and finish that then watch that episode 😅
I honestly hate the redesigns for Joker and Catwoman(why tf is her skin blue?!) Joker WAY more intimidating and creepy with the yellow eyes instead of the all black ones.
Eh honestly other than Riddler’s brief appearance and maybe Penguin I’d say they’re at least roughly the same or even better. Catwoman and Joker are a bit odd but I like them and both Scarecrow and Killer Croc get a huge upgrade IMO
Not gonna lie I'm not a big Harley Quinn fan I'm kind of sick of her. Especially after that terrible Suicide Squad game. We desperately need Paul Dini back. He can make Harley great again.
Remember that Dick Grayson was just a wee lad of around 8 years old when his parents were murdered and he became Robin. It's just that we only saw that in flashback.
"You're not Santa!"
"Sure I am kid, wanna see my gun?" Man I love Bullock lol
Heads Up: When you get to see "Over the Edge", DO NOT read the description because it spoils the ending of the episode.
Omg you are right

The reason for Robin to even exist is basically that too.
*Kids WB.
Long may Arleen Sorkin and Diane Pershing reign! My first introduction to Harls and Ivy, the best ever!
I think its hilarious that Ivy chooses to kiss Bruce on the lips when her toxins can work with just a peck on the cheek.
I think you and I both know why she went for the full smooch.

When you mentioned Joker being the only one able to break the 4th wall, it remembered me of Imaginary Axis theory on Joker, it's a great video
I like how concerned you are for Tiim's safety
especially because of what Joker did to Tim in Batman Beyond.
Always great to see your Batman Animated Series reactions
you always brighten my day thank you MegMage.🎮📺🎮
She's one video closer to "growing pains." When that video arrives, I'm breaking out the popcorn, and if you've ever seen that episode, then you know why.
Yeah, Joker's arm is completely DESTROYED after that bell fell on him.
Notice that Ivy and Harley's hotel room only has one bed? I'm a little surprised KidsWB let them get away with that innuendo back in the 90s.
Any episodes written by Paul Dini are gonna be the some of the best
It's still the same voice actor for Clayface from the original: Ron Perlman. Can't wait until you get to Justice League and Batman Beyond.
I love watching Christmas episodes in June. It makes me want to break out decorations. I'm going to add this one to my Christmas episodes list.
This is my favorite episode of BTAS. I watch it every New Years (and that scene with Batman & Gordon at the ends makes me tear up after Conroy’s passing).

I forgot about this episode it feels like it was a a Batman version of pretty woman
You can tell the censors eased off on them in this season.
that's because the show was no longer on fox it was moved to kids WB and because of that they were able to do things they hardly couldn't do in the original show when it was on fox

It’s not child endangerment, it’s child empowerment!
Batman must avenge his bank account lol
Man i actually liked the animation change, in S4, and man was this fun!
It’s worth knowing that the Clayface segment is a little out of place because they cover how he got to this point in a separate, very good, episode.
I really miss this Meg. You are so funny and adorable. 🧡🧡 Yeah, that was basically me too, when I first saw that episode.
Thanks for the video Meg! :)
another awesome tms animated episode, they make the coolest running animations.

5:23 - Moments like this are what make me love Harley. My dear crazy little jester ❤🖤❤🖤

12:33 I watch this scene every New Year’s Eve
This is an episode I been waiting to see your reaction to. In fact there a few this season, including the Robins meeting (that's not the title lol)

i love this episode, specially the Harley and Ivy part. and oh you'll see Clayface again
3:45 For Bruce Wayne, everything is for sale.
This episode feels kind of out place but it's actual fun ngl 😂
7:34 he can be whatever he wants to be

11:40 now that’s what I call having bats in the belfry.
Really loving these reactions!

I grew up on this and batman beyond and 2004 series was my childhood

BTTF2 reaction when?? 😂
Hi Meg hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Hi Meg, glad to see that you are covering The New Batman Adventures Animated Series. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
I honestly hate the redesigns for Joker and Catwoman(why tf is her skin blue?!) Joker WAY more intimidating and creepy with the yellow eyes instead of the all black ones.
Meg is going to react to Batman beyond??? 🎉🎉🎉🎉
7:15 let the criminal get away with stealing an expensive necklace!? what sort of poor thought process is that? 🙄
hi MegMage
Montoya speaks Spanish?
RRR reaction
Can you react to avatar the last airbender animated series its one of the best
The only thing I dont like about The New Adventures is a majority of the villain designs are such downgrades 😢👎
Eh honestly other than Riddler’s brief appearance and maybe Penguin I’d say they’re at least roughly the same or even better.
Catwoman and Joker are a bit odd but I like them and both Scarecrow and Killer Croc get a huge upgrade IMO
i agree
