- Esta Father's Sword é fabricada pela Windlass Steelcrafts, feita em aço carbono 1085 temperado para dureza 52 HRC e sua espiga é full tang. Ela pesa precisamente 2,284 Kg e seu ponto de equilíbrio fica a 13 cm do início do cabo (parte envolvida em couro). Os acessórios são feitos em metal fundido simulando bronze.
Algumas informações tiveram como referência o GUIA DE IDENTIFICAÇÃO DE ESPADAS DO FILME "CONAN, O BARBARO", de Alexander Marcos Vivone.

Finally received my Conan's Father Sword made by Windlass today and is beautiful 🗡️😍. I'm very happy with it...

I just watched the movie again today on dvd. The inscription "Suffer no evil yee who wield this in the name of Crom" has a deeper meaning. When it is wielded against Conan, who prays to Crom, it fails its wielder. When Conan brings it to finish Thulsa Doom, he is protected from Doom's mind controlling powers. He used it to exact the revenge he prayed to Crom for, thus he was protected.

If you notice in the scene where Conan's father is forging the sword, he thrusts the red hot blade into the snow to temper it. When the sword later breaks it does so at the point and angle at which it was buried into the snow... obviously a weak point in the heat treatment.
@@ronaldjeffrey8712 well the snow itself would not have quenched the blade at all, cuz of the surface area....but even if you think of the snow melting to water.... First of all it would not have been enough water.... Second of all water just would have cracked the blade..... Which is why they quench an oil in real life.....but you had a cool way to think of it none the less...

Great sword. Windlass makes the functionals swords in India, and Marto, spanish company, makes the decoration swords. Diferences? Windlass versions are functionals to practice and combat simulations. Marto´s swords are made with stainless steel, more hardened but more fragile than the windlass version to use in simulations. Stainless steel dont need maintenance, but the functionals swords need it. Clean and apply oil to preserve and avoid the oxide.

One thing that nobody ever seems to notice from these swords (even Albion) is that the Elk head should not have see through eyes so you can see the blade under... that bothers me greatly
One of the things that bugs me is the outline for the text down the blade doesn't do what it should like in the film where it kind of almost cross over it'self before continuing. If you know what I mean. At least Albion did that right.

This sword is no wall hanger. Carbon steel. Full tang. You can take it into battle.

Olá David! Conforme está descrito no vídeo, a espada que possuo pesa 2,284 Kg. Eu utilizei uma balança de precisão para fazer essa aferição. Não sei se há tanta diferença de peso entre as espadas de mesma marca, no entanto, a forma como são fabricadas pode ser um fator para influenciar no peso. Boa sorte na compra! Abraço!
