i have loved EVERY disturbed song i have ever heard and i have been listening since i was 15(now 33) Disturbed has gotten me through all the shit times in my life and will ALWAYS be my light at the end of the darkness called life
late reply, but same here. I was about 16 in high school and I was always looking for a fight, disturbed definitely helped fuel that fire and got me through high school years.
This song is a true masterpiece. I think the song is about the days after the christan apocalypse where the four beasts of humanity come down to earth to judge who will go to heaven. The main character in the song was left behind and curses the evil he has to endure left on a hell on earth. This eventually sparks a revolution where the people left behind "cant stay behind" and still has the humanity of not wanting to "wreaking their vengance upon you" refering to the people who were brought up to heaven. The only line which doesnt fit this is "get back from me demon or be exorcised" but it's possible that this refers to an angel or death seen as a demon from a demons perspective.
Honestly, I don't think it's quite that literal. It's pretty open to interpretation. Main thing is, the character in the song was abandoned by someone in a cruel world, and now wants to tear down the world in revenge. You could fit this to lots of story premises. Hell, I have several OC's who this fits quite well. The biblical overtones are there, like in a lot of Disturbed songs, but I doubt it's explicitly a biblical theme. Still, everyone's free to interpret the lyrics how they wish, and honestly your version of the story does sound pretty badass. And for that one line, could be that the singer is human and is talking about literally taking down the demons around him as well. If you're interpreting it as literally Hell on earth.
