Everybody talking about how Lue got embarrassed, AI was serving Kobe most of the game. That's what happens when you get your opinion from highlights
Pan Black Solutions, FACTS! That's what happens when most of American citizens are influenced and indoctrinated by media. Clueless sheeples
Exactly that's why they put Lue on him in the 2nd half to match his speed Iverson was too fast for Kobe to handle
Allen Iverson in this series is literally my player in nba2k. No business being in the finals but one guy carrying the whole city 🤣🤣
Which is exactly why he didn’t win..... that 2K shit don’t work in real life 😂
It is fun to watch tho!!!
@@IGHarrythawizard_ one of the stupidest comments I’ve read in awhile. He was going up against one of the best teams EVER that’s why he lost..
That man came through so much adversity bro and even in the league they wanted him out he changed the game in many ways he's a goat 🐐
I can name you 10 Better players, allen Is a Beast and One of my favourite player but he isn' t a goat and a top 10
@@mattonella7878 what? You are sadly mistaken allen is in the top 2 PGs of all time top 15 best players of all time he popularized tattoos and braids the killer crossover the jewelry and "Urban clothing" and not being afraid to speak your mind and the league didn't like that and blackballed him somewhat and to this day those things still stand but the urban clothing got replaced by the weird shit and suits they wear while in the game tunnel but dont disrespect AI
@@DemonTime08 i am not disrespecting but ai is not Better than this: Jordan, LeBron,Kobe, jabbar, wilt, hakeem, shaq,Bird, magic,Duncan, curry and pg magic and curry are Better but he Is the third for sure
Magic and Stockton are 1A and 1B when it comes to top 2 point guards. AI was probably more talented but inefficient and wasnt dedicated. He wanted that party lifestyle.
I can't tell you how much of a gift he was to the NBA. I was a Lakers fan, but somewhere near halftime I just stopped rooting for LA and just watched this magnificent performance. He roasted Kobe in this game, every shot all net. He had so much heart. Man I loved watching AI play.
This is probably the greatest single player performance in NBA finals history, all things considered.
the emotion I went thru in this game as a lil kid.......my dad and his homies all rooting for lakers and then just me rooting for sixers ....didnt realize then lakers were 2 strong for the sixers cuz I thought iverson would overcome anything.
I was only 8 but I remember it vividly. I remember Shaq punishing and abusing Mutombo all series. I thought we had a chance after game 1 but Kobe turned it up too after AI got the best of him.
This wasn’t as big of a mismatch as history tends to think. People say the sixers should have never gone to the finals but they were clearly the best team in the East. They had 2 starting all stars with AI and Mutombo. They had 6th man of the year Aaron Mckie. Legendary coach Larry Brown. The whole squad was just dogs. Kinda like that Pistons team that won it all (coached of course by LB). What history forgets is all the injuries the sixers had. Idk if they win a 7 game series if they were completely healthy but it would have been closer. Sixers played nearly the maximum number of games- two 7 game series with Raptors and Bucks. Lakers played the least number of games.
this is lowkey the game that made me a fan of iverson. watched it at my friends house in middle school with his family and everyone there was also lakers fans, and so I just kinda went a long with it. but as I watched I was so blown away by iverson cuz at the time I wasnt really paying attention to the nba like that and had never heard of him yet even tho I had hooped a lot thru my childhood.
but I quickly identified with him being a smaller guy with a similar look. instantly became a fan and began to study him and now my whole game is pretty much matched off of his. i wore braids all thru middle school almost exclusively because of him. he is my favorite player of all time without question. the man inspired so much of my life. Long live AI 💯
Same here.. this series made me really understand how dominant shaq was if you catch my drift
Kids.. If y’all ever want to know the full essence of iverson watch this game start to finish. It defines him as a killer scorer, as a fighter and clutchness. This dude was all heart… y’all rarely see that today and that sucks
Yeah cuz the league is weak as HELL now bro lmfao little soft ass kids playing ball now....
Put any warriors team against Jordans bulls or bad boy piston team lmfao there would be season ending injuries against the pistons 🤣😂🤷
7:34 - "ya cooled off because of the defense from tyron lue"
iverson: smiles lol
Kobe was getting COOKED!
Facts kobe fucked up vs detroit. His only good moment was that buzzer beater.
Kobeused to get cooked by Mike Bibby also during the Kings vs Lakers series lol. Mike Bibby was a great player the US has forgotten about.
AI is the reason Kobe lost all his hair lmao
Kobe: "It's all about hard work and practice."
Iverson: "You talkin' about practice?"
Almost every shot from Iverson is a swish.
Highlights don't show the misses, and Iverson also had a lot of misses. He shot 40 percent for the series.
@@turtleislandlac1490 not too bad considering the amount of shots he did take lol.. just sayin haha 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Gotta feel for Ty Lue, so disrespected that it’s still being talked about almost 20 years later hahaha
@@juliusstuckey3913 ppl wont rmb lue for winning a ring in that finals. Ppl rmb lue cuz he got BMed by AI
@@demonised_5466 and the guy that won a chip as a coach and coached james
every crossover of Iverson's iconic. That's why he's got the best crossover in nba history. I mean, even MJ gets crossed and they still talk about it. Ty Lue should be proud Iverson makes him relevant. LOL.
Ty Lue at peace. This is making him more famous. Plus he won as a player and a coach. He said his two idols growing up were MJ and AI even though AI was just two years older than him....
That's my favorite player off all time in all sports. Nobody played harder or was tougher
Lakers swept every series up to this game. One of the best teams in NBA history, and AI took it to them! 🔥💯
“He was holding me the whole time” lol A.I carried tht dam team
*Eric Snow* & *Aaron McKie* really played their assist & defensive roles perfectly when it came down to supporting the team's star player such as *AI.*
Man i miss this Jerseys
@@hyl2735 Just say 'fire'. No need for bullshit high school girl emojis.
Allen Iverson made you believe he could overcome anything! He was unstoppable. He was a GOAT in his position.
Iverson claimed at the end that Lou was holding him the entire time which is likely the reason he stepped over the dude lol
Yeah he was pretty annoyed xD But thats facts tho if you watch the whole game Lue had his hands on him the whole time it would annoy anyone
I'm still a Bulls fan, but those years after Jordans retirement 2000-05 I was a 76ers/Iverson fan. That's the first and only time I rooted for a team because of a player. Iverson had so much heart & was small compared to his competition, but he went out in the blazes of glory and I respected that lol.
That's exactly my same story. After Jordan I became a 76ers fan just because of AI. He was amazing
I’m a younger fella. That’s how I feel about the Angels in mlb. I’m a Yankees fan but Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani. Gotta root for them too.
I’m the same way I grew up watching Jordan play ball and Allen Iverson is the only guy that I’ve ever been just as excited to see play the game, it was like falling in love with Jordan all over again when I seen Allen Iverson play the game, haven’t felt like that again til this day.
Best player under 6'4 in nba history 💯.. don't @ me
AI is a mini-goat for sure, but Stockton and Thomas are better, maybe CP3.
uneedrambo Iverson’s better. Curry would never be able to carry a team to the NBA finals like LeBron or Iverson.
Remember this game like its yesterday... classic performance from a hell of a player
Iverson was amazing, he just so small he had to work so hard, its crazy how he schooling Kobe and the best team in the league, this aint some lousy team that he lighting up.
Pound for pound on the biggest stage against the greatest odds perhaps the best single performance by a player in NBA history. Thee Answer.
Now I know why he didn’t need practice
Lol I know AI is athletically gifted, but wouldn't you want to practice to make yourself even more dominant, just saying.
@@Abstrack23 The reason AI wasn't more dominant (aka the reason why he didn't get rings) is because he always had a shit team.
@@jameswalker6864 He didn't always had a shit team, he had Iggy, Korver, Webber and Melo with the Nuggets. But that was nearly past his prime. The 76ers team in 2001 was ranked the best defensive team in the league, but I agree offensively they didn't have as much. He is the best scorer for his size I have ever seen and one of the true mini goats along with Stockton, Thomas, Nash, Murphy + Manigault.
The practice comment he said is very misleading he really meant he had already done the practice u don’t get an mvp without any practice
I'm Philly born and raised. Diehard Sixers fan my whole life. My dad the same. I was 21 watching this. Still one of the best days of my life period
Lakers were undefeated in the playoffs until this game. Legendary performance by AI.
I don't know why but I was so hyped up while watching this,I mean a 6 ft guy going nuts and cooked an all star team all by his own.
AI had tremendous stamina as well as speed and skill. I remember watching a regular-season game, and I was so impressed by his speed on defense. He ran across the court as fast as a pass almost. He didn't reach the ball to steal it but knocked it away. The audience gave him a standing ovation. He was the fastest man on the court for the longest period of the game that I have seen. I surely miss effort on defense today. The Lakers had stints last season, but they did not sustain the AI level of effort on defense.
I am always impressed by his shooting form. The way he shoots, with his legs kicking out and moving back in the air takes so much energy. He does this night in night out. It's crazy how he's able to score so much having to flail around being a small man.
also, most people don't notice, but Iverson runs around screens just as much as Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and Richard Hamilton, who are all tasked to just run off screens for open shots. Iverson does that while also being a SUPERSTAR and iso a ton. This guy just keeps running with that speed of his. It's crazy.
He also played football and I think ran track so that training probably helped him reach that level of speed.
Allen iverson straight owned kobe this game
Damn Philly didn't have no one. Imagine him being with the Philly team of 2020 they would win the East for sure.
Great player for his size and a fearless player. However, after watching these highlights I’m surprised how many long 2 point jumpshot NBA scorers took back then including Iverson, Kobe, Carmelo, Wade. NBA has been transformed by the three point shot and Warriors changed the style of the NBA
Most of the best players in the league like today like Giannis, Kawhi, KD and LeBron still take lots of long 2's
@@mcoeif even harden is transitioning his game to taking more 2 pointers since hes slowed down on his ability to finish at the rim.
@Mike Stone It could've been from the help of euroleague players too to where more three pointers were taken in game when realized that taller players who could shoot the three might be an advantage over shorter defenders and could spread out the defense for for easier cuts to the rim. Dirk, hedo turkaglou, peja stojakavic, all took effecient threes before it became more emphasized for American players to work on.
Ppl forget just how good and dominate Iverson was this is what you call willing your team to the Finals and making things happen with less talent everybody always says Lebron took bums to the Finals who the hell was a top 50 player Iverson played with Mutombo was old asf at this time so he don't count Iverson was that dude one of my favorite players, my lil brother God rest his soul use to Model his game after A.I.

Damn AI timing was impeccable, he made those layups on Shaq look easy
that step over T lue was so iconic
What a performance. One of teh greatest. Dude was so fast and smooth and considering the height and weight advantage of his opponents, he torn them up.

BRYANT ATE THE DUST LIKE NEVER BEFORE AND LATER......Iverson is one of the best in a head to head, everyone was afraid of him in a one to one.
this game is why i start to watch NBA
This game gave me high blood pressure and 16 anxiety attacks, we had no chance but A.I carried us thru the whole playoffs and coming off a 40plus point game to get the Bucks outta here and give the Lakera their only loss in the whole playoffs. A.I is my goat and people can sat Curry is better but no little man can get big in that paint like my boy man
Iverson out there wit a bunch of role players even Snow was a role player and gave the entire lakers wit a prime Shaq a 43 piece with no sauces in the bag sheesh

That step over though 🔥
Shaq made 44 points and 20 rebs on this match, one of the most underrated finals performance lol
Thats what happens when you lose. People Still call game one of GSW vs Cavs “the game JR forgot the score” Meanwhile Lebron was cooking everyone they put in front of him. KD,Green or Iggy. Nobody brings that up tho.
