Been a fan for years, and awesome review of the can-am and always liked the sound of the 1000cc motors always sounds tight and responsive and as always thanks for always giving us viewers your honest review and opinion 👍
That's awesome! Thank you!!
That’s Why I always like their videos as well is a true honest review
@@dirttraxtv never heard you guys mention who won the prize pack you mentioned in the video
My friends had the exact same machine last year . In less than a year they put on nearly 3000 kms riding with us with zero issues . They actually sold it though this spring to buy a Maverick Sport X RC 2 seater . I have always been a Yamaha guy but I actually went out 2 months ago and drove 7 1/2 hours to Quebec and bought a Maverick Sport X XC and so far i have just shy of 1000 kms on it and love it !
I’ve moved on to a new Jeep Rubicon but I still watch all your videos to keep up with the industry. Thanks much! 🇺🇸
I like that you are testing a used side by side that to me is better than a brand new one
I have a 2020 max. Bought it the weekend after memorial day 2020. It now has 2200 miles on it. As a family of 4, and sometimes the dog, we have enjoyed every second of riding. Even took it from our home in WI out to the black hills of SD this year in July. Regular maintenance only. Need to start looking for a new set of tires as we do travel a fair amount of miles on pavement. I mean, why not? Can ride right from our house 17 miles to some of our states finest sxs trails. Love the review. Disagree with passenger grab handle because the seat is adjustable
The tablet holder is actually amazing for Backcountry riding. 2200 miles on my 2019 Maverick Sport, and it's been nothing but fun!
One big reason I own a Can Am, a Maverick Sport. How well Can Am's hold up. Love my Sport over 3000klm's and nothing has broken, stop working. Oil, filters and grease.
Have a 2019 maverick sport 2 seater with 4000km and it’s held up amazing haven’t had to change a single part and still feels brand new
I'm turning 70 and bought myself a canam watched your review and loved it.Your right very roomie and suspension is awesome...love my canam😁
Right on!
No smoke, no rattling I'm impressed.
I have 7500km on 2013 Ranger 900xp that's lightly modified. Regular maintenance is key. Nice to hear that Can Am is still tight.
Long term review.
I have a 2005 Arctic Cat 400 4x4 automatic and when the odometer stopped working after 10 years I had just over 12,000 Km on it. I did not bother fixing it, so I have no idea what it currently has for Km’s.This has been the best machine and the guys I ride with can’t believe that I still ride it, and are also amazed what it can do.
I have changed the belt once, lots of breaks, 3 front axle seals on the same side, 2 CV boots, lots of wheel bearings, shock bushings, A-arm bushing, and a few batteries.
I snorkelled the air in and out for the belt, but the air intake for the engine is still stock. Clutch is still stock, and nothing has been changed on the clutch (still the stock rollers etc…). I have taken it apart several times to ensure it’s clean, and I have an air filter on the the air in for the belt to help keep dust out.
I have had to remove the spark plug several times to pump water out of the engine. Put the spark plug back in, start it up, and keep riding. But I would change the oil as soon as I got home. Engine still runs, and sounds perfect.
Also used to plow snow in the winter.
You can watch a video on my channel of me pulling a trailer load of wood out through a swamp. “I thought is was going to be an easy day” is the name of the video.
I’m not saying that Arctic Cat is the best or anything like that, but this machine has left me with no regrets.
Biggest problem I have right now is I bent the frame. Did the best I could to get it straight, but it is still steering funny. Then my son (20 years old) took it out for a rip down the road with the snow plow on and couldn’t hold the handle bars, due to messed up steering because of the bent frame, and he did a flip when the corner of the plow dug into the ground, and it landed on the right rear tire. Bent and broke upper and lower A-arms, rim, bearing carrier, and plow (my son only got minor scraps, nothing serious, he was luckily). After replacing all of this (minus the plow) the right rear wheel is not running perfectly straight.
Looking for a new frame but they are not available! Found a used frame, but seller has no ownership, so…… I’m not taking the chance.
I live in Ontario, Canada. If any one has a matching machine that they want to sell? Running or not, I would be interested.
If not, looks like it might be time to buy a new side by side, but not sure what to get.
Thank for this review, I love your educational videos.
That's awesome!
I watch almost every video you guys put out, the honesty and integrity is what keeps me coming back. Like this overview, the little detail about the passenger “oh crap” handle not being adjustable was a negative. As far as mileage goes for a year old model that’s a lot. An I think like you said it was a tour/rental rig which make sense with all the extras. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Travis! Really appreciate your support!!
I would like to say, u guys make shopping a lot easier. You are very informative when it comes to your knowledge. Thank you.
Great to hear!
It's good to see a vehicle that's been used already. I wish there was a way to have more that way
Glad to see the sport platform getting some love! I’ve got just over 3200 miles on my 2020 sport, has been an awesome machine! Very under rated
Love watching new episodes on Sunday mornings with my coffee! Great content, and love my dirttrax decal!!!!
Best off road video producers on TH-cam hands down! Keep it up.
Appreciate that!
Great video 2 quick things ground clearance? And wish u would have sat in back seat to get a idea how big it is.
Getting a 2021 outlander max 850 next week and I'm super pumped of course and maybe some day I can get into the sxs world. Thanks dirt trax for the wicked content as always. Lots of love from a fellow ontarian.
Awesome! Thank you!!
Always enjoy y'alls videos. Appreciate the honest feedback you give of all the different units. Looks like whoever had the unit before didn't spare any expense on the accessories!
I love the smell of dirt trax on a Saturday morning. Makes my day. Thank you all for doing these reviews. Also huge thanks for keeping the videos straight forward. Keep up the great work guys, and gals! Cheers from southern Nevada!
LOL That's awesome!! Thank you for tuning in!!
Brother has one nice ride been very reliable for him in the last year!!
These Can Ams are built to last, I love both of mine! I completely agree with the build quality especially with the doors! I've driven a few different manufactures before and the doors alone made me feel like I was driving an adult-sized plastic powerwheels car 🤣
Built to last lol, def not built to be worked on
Yup, i had same machine. I sold mine with 2,400 miles on it and not one issue with that machine. I changed the belt simply out of precaution at 2000 miles and it was still in great shape and i ran 32s on mine also. I have a bunch of reviews of it on my channel. I also had a dynojet tuner on it which made a huge difference.
Clutching is horrible though it does need a clutch kit.
Bought this in '19 and have it all decked out and very happy with it. Only issue was the 'drive train rattle' that is pretty well known (and happened very early on) that was fixed with a set screw. I would like more ground clearance (I'm now on 30s), that's about it. Agreed with most of the commentary in this video in terms of power. Most of the Maverick/Trail/2dr accessories fit on this, too, though you need to make sure before purchase. Great walkaround, love to see these on well-used vehicles.
I have this same machine. I added 32 inch tires. It made a huge difference, look wise and ride ability. I think you nailed the walk around review. Thanks for reviewing this machine. Can't wait for the ride review.
How much of an offset did you go to get the 32's on
@@2amendment1 5+2 off set. That gave me a little over 60” width, stock it was like 58”. But I really like my set up
My family has a defender 1000 and I can agree with you guys on the clutching
I have been a fan for years and really like your videos. They are always very informative, honest and educational. I am looking to purchase a new side by side and because of Covid, it is very difficult to visit a dealership and view, walk around, sit in and get a feel for the machine as there is no stock. I really trust your non bias reviews that has really helped to make my new purchase.
Awesome! Thank you!
I am surprised to find out that 2400 k is a lot to put on a Sxs in a year as my wife and I bought a General Xp last year and put on 3200 k. Didn’t think we rode it enough last year, as we didn’t get it till June. Makes me feel even more blessed to get out and ride as much as we do. Love watching your reviews, always well done.
Got ours in May and have 850 miles on it now. Thinking 2000-2500 per year was "normal"... guess I'm wrong.
I plan on buying a side by side next year. I really appreciate your honest reviews. It helps alot on my decisions!
I tell you, as a Polaris rider of many years, thats a sick looking machine, and the fact thats it has held up over the course of that many miles really well is really a good sign. The machine sounds like new with a nice V-Twin rumble and I can't wait to see how the test ride goes. I enjoy each and every video you guys put out for every single manufacture out there and am also a big fan of the SnowTrax TV as well and love the reviews from that channel too! Love each video guys, keep op the good work, take care.
Awesome and thank you!!
Good walk around review. We get plenty of Can Ams coming through the shop mostly because the local dealer sucks and most won't ever go back. When they're right, you can't touch them, amazing machines. Repairs are complicated because of the design and the parts are expensive and hard to come by in the states. We've got a Renegade X that has a problem connected with the factory anti theft device, we can't connect to it without the factory computer to read the code, the next dealer gave us such a high estimate the customer doesn't want to spend big bucks for the parts and labor to maybe fix it. 2 years worth of dust collects on one of the most amazing machines I've ever ridden. We ride customers Can Ams and own most everything else.
I like the video and the machine..1600 miles Is a good amount for a year and you saying it was tight is a testament as to the quality of a Can-Am..keep up the great work..
Great Video. I bought my first ATV last fall because of the great job Dirt Trax does. Now if I was in the market for a 4 seater I would put this Can Am at the top of my list. I am impressed with fact that there are no rattles after a year of abuse. Thanks Guys
I love Dirt Trax and I haven't missed an episode in since I bought my quad
That's awesome! Great to hear and thanks for watching!!
Nice initial review - 2400 kms is just getting it broke in to see if there are problems, sluggish could be the belt or dirt clutches - but I'm sure they conducted an inspection prior to loaning it to you. I like the rear winch and with all those lights, someone put one pointing to the rear - smart. Cheers and hit the trails and see if it fits in the tight spaces.
I put nearly 5,000 trouble free hard miles on a Mav Trail. That chassis/engine is solid!!
I really liked the walk around I have a 21 on order... I've never ridden in the machine and have been using videos to try learn about the performance, ride, and durability of the Maverick Sport Max. I hope to be able to pick the machine up in the next week. Going into my fairly large purchase blind it gives me confidence that you said you are impressed with how the machine has held up to the many miles that have been put on it over the past year.
That's awesome! Congratulations on your purchase!!
My mother has the same machine and many of the same accessories. Very comfy trail family friendly machine. I'll be getting the new commander max xtp and can't wait to get out camping. The interior bags are awesome and I'll be adding them.
Big fan of the show and big fan of the Maverick Sport. I have a 2 seater and love it. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
That really is a cool perspective. Ive had my can-am defender since 2018 and it doesnt have that many miles. It is holding up perfectly though. The rear winch is definitely handy.
I would love someone to make doors like that for my '14 Maverick. Good work guys
I have OG Maverick with 4000 miles on and it running strong
I have a 21 Maverick sport xrc and I will be extremely happy if it's that kind of shape with the same amount of kms. I appreciate your honesty and yes the doors seals are awesome. .
I really enjoyed the walk-around. Durability is probably higher on my list than all the cool toys the manufactures put on the units now-a-days.
I watch your videos pretty often and this one has great info on the Maverick. I also love the idea of a rear winch. Keep up the great work!
Thanks 👍
Great video, pointed me in the other direction as my family and I are all 6 foot and above, thanks!
Awesome review. Someday ill have a maverick sport. Looking forward to more vids to come!
Thank you! Stay tuned!!
Great walk around video! I own a 2021 Can-Am maverick sport max with the same accessories. It’s very good to see a review on a machine with miles on it. As always, great content.
Thanks for watching!
Love the walk around think the 2400k answers a lot of reliability questions
Awesome review! Really like the Can Am machines, and am excited to see the unique test ride!
Great video and review! Would love to see that on some 30’s!
Great overview! 1500+ miles is nothing. These Rotax engines will stand the test of time. They are rock solid! I like these units more than the X3 but I agree, they need to have more power, specially the 4 seater. They will reveal their new lineup this week. Turbo for 2022 maybe?
Nice unit. love to see more reviews with vehicles that have some miles on them like this! Nice to see how they hold up.
Very cool review and glad to see it on the Sport Max. I have a '21 on order since April and still waiting for delivery. Delivery has been bumped a few times and now I am being told it will be 9/28...we will see. Looking forward to getting it and put some miles on it. Thanks for the review...looking forward to your next one.
I like seeing a unit that has more miles love all the accessories
Considering what these machines go threw. It’s nice to see it held up.
I bought a 2021 max sport 4 months and I agree with everything you pointed out. Especially the tires. They need to be taller, it doesn't have the ground clearance needed. The tires need to be 30's. Good to know it will go the distance. Looking forward to the test drive.
Thank you for another content-rich video. I like the long-term review, I hope you are able to offer more of them.
More to come!
Great video. When I am ready for my next sxs I will check out a 2 seat maverick sport.
2400km isn't enough to tell a whole lot, but enough to get an idea. I wanted one of these last spring but couldn't get my hands on one. Ended up with a Wolverine X4, will be a year old on the 12th. Just rolled over 5300km last night
I was considering this rig when I picked up my talon. It’s a really solid family trail machine. Love your stuff! -Joe
you guys do the best review very easy to watch strait to the point keep the videos coming
Much appreciated!
With proper maintenance I've never heard of any major issues with Can-Ams - the caveat being mud seems to cause a ton of issues regardless of how well you clean them afterwards. I have 5000km on mine and it's never been back to dealer - but I don't ride mud.
Been watching for years love the content. Would love to see a 4x4 system comparison between brands.
Great suggestion and thank you for watching!!
I’m interested in a two seater sport so the long term review is helpful. I’m Looking forward to the test ride and your opinion.
I’m new to the sport you gave a very good review of what you felt in your rides. I feel that the mileage is about normal to high. But being new to the sport I have a limited point of reference, your review was very thorough and I appreciate that.
Overall I enjoy your content on this and past videos
Thanks again and I’m looking forward to more great content.👍🏻
Great video, going to be buying a utv soon and now the maverick is on the list.
Excellent walk around of this 2020 Can Am. I don't have near the miles but I hope my machine, an X3 900 HO, holds up as well. Good review, honest critique, keep then coming!
Right on! Thanks!!
Been looking at sxs and have always wondered what kind of conditions it would be in after some good kms can't wait for the test drive video Dirt trax always have the best info 👍🇨🇦
Thank you!!
Great review and walk around, Can Am is the most reliable brand on the market.
Great video, been following you guys since I first found the TV show years ago. Looking forward to the full test ride. Nice to see something with some good miles on it get put to the test.
Awesome! Thank you!
I love the walkarounds! I'm going to be in the market for a Commander 4 seater so this was a great idea of what to expect with that machine!
I’ve been riding a Polaris trail for about a year and put that many miles on so I think that’s a good amount of time to determine how reliable and how good a machine is. Good to see a walk around for a four seater since I’ll probably be in the market for one that is not as long as a limo soon. Thanks, love the show!
Thank you!
I have a maverick sport 1000r dips. It’s 4 months old, 1600 km already. Hopefully I get another 10000km out of it. Not sure I was gonna love it but I do. Great video looking forward to your drive review.
It looks awesome. I'd be ok with the softer less twitchy 100hp. With young kids it might be a little less intense for them. Thanks for the review! We love DT TV!
Thank you!!
Great review, I always like that you pick at the little things because a door may seem simple, but for every time you drive it, you'll use that door twice. And your right, for a limo of a SxS, bigger tires would have seemed to make sense, better clearance, better ride too. Not to mention so many sub 28" tires make the SXS's look like the wheels came from a lawn mower lol. Put some manly tires on there please.
Great video - love getting the low down on a model with some hard miles with many different drivers. Thanks
Another great walk around! We have a 2 seat sport XMR in our crew and it has been incredible. We agree with your comment about the lack of low end grunt but I can say a tune really wakes them up. Can’t speak for a clutch kit but I’m sure that would be worth the money as well. Keep the vids coming!!
Also, you may think the tablet holder is silly but it’s worth it’s weight in gold. I have my tablet with trails maps every where I go, no more stopping at every crossroad to grab the map and try to figure out where you are!!
I have a maverick trail awesome to know they can take a beating. Thanks for all the great content
Right on!
I love how you guys explain all details of the different sxs and the way they all preform. We just bought a 2016 maverick max 1000r turbo and I'm in the middle of putting a set of Dirt doors on and there not lining up right do you guys have any videos of putting doors on a max? Thanks again for the help and awesome videos!!
I have a 16, theres some adjustments on the brackets, don't over tighten until you're fully installed. The bolt the lasp hooks is also adjustable.
Love your reviews and all your detailed work- keep it up
Thanks for the walk around I’ve got 5300 miles on my sport max and love it I do wish can am would offer a turbo model I’m the sport line though. The X3 is just not for me as far as seat position and width.
Always informative and entertaining. Thanks Dirt Trax!!!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Looks cool but how does it stack up to a general as I'm in the market. Love you guys keep up the great work
Thanks for the video guys! They really help with decision making when the time comes!
Awesome!
Thanks for all the great reviews and product info.
Our pleasure!
Nice overview. It would be a good comparison if you could now get a rzr s 4 seat that is a year old.
First I want say is that you guys do an awesome job love all your reviews.
I have a 2020 Mav Sport XXC that I bought new at the end of 2020 so it really has just a yr worth use, and at a little over 1000 miles and 58 hrs already the Trans output seal is leaking, water pump seal is leaking, one tail has already took dump, had to replace seal on top of gas tank cuz that was leaking and my doors rattle and squeak from day one. I ran the hell out my 06 Polaris 4 wheeler and after 10 years had to replaced front diff seal. I don't ride like that anymore cuz now I have a passenger and just basically enjoy the ride. So with this little time of use and issues already I'm afraid what this next season is going to bring.
I enjoy ALL your Video's and reviews, and I think this particular one is one of the best! If I were to be in need of a 4 seat Machine, I would certainly have to check out the Maverick Sport Max.
Right on!
Great walk around info, thanks for sharing. I have this exact model / yr bought this spring one yr old. Love it,
Right on!
Good video and good looking machine. Thank for the honest review
Thanks!!
That machine sounded great. I have never been able to get a sport side by side but that might be the one to get because of the doors and build quality.
Love watching you guys. Always does a great review on your stuff. Been thinking of getting one of these and cant wait to see the test ride!!
Thank you so much!
Another awesome video!
Always good information and feedback and what you see good or bad. Love your videos great work from the dt crew
Awesome! Thank you!
We have the 2021 Sport Max and it's been a blast to drive. I'm pretty hard on it but hoping it holds up as well as the 20' in the video. I did add 30" Terrabites to gain a little ground clearance. Biggest drawback of the Sport platform is a lack of aftermarket support, everything is geared towards the X3 but I understand the reasons.
No issues, or regrets? Im looking at one.
@@kbar6304 no real issues or regrets, I do think I'd like to have a turbo 2 seater at times though. I've added 33" terrabites and superatv arched forward control arms over the winter.
@@mo_hacker how does handle chop in the trails?
@@philturinsky27 mine isn't a good example for handling chop, it rides rough because I've put so much preload into it for ground clearance. Thinking back to the 1st trip I took it on it handled rough trails more comfortably other than bottoming out. The guys in Honda Pioneers and Polaris Rangers were complaining about how rough the trails were I took them down and we barely noticed LOL.
Greqt video, your shows are always good and informative.
I appreciate that!
Been looking at 4 seater, and somehow overlooked this one. Be interesting to see a shootout between it and say the Talon4, and RZR4.
I always look forward to every time you guys post.Always like a can am they sound cool.the miles are kind of high
That's awesome! Thank you!!
