    Duuuddeee….
    The way you so confidently map your shapes shows a master’s hand. Like you instinctually know exactly what the glass will be able to do! I’ve watched a few more of your tutorials, and your precision work is incredible! Thank you so much for making this series!

    I'm going to do a digital painting of a stain glass window and it has always seemed very hard but this really showed me with clarity how easily it is done. Thank you for this you've saved me a lot of trouble :)

    I am finally wanting to start making my own stained glass and know that I don't need to go to a workshop. I figured I can find everything on you tube and the internet. I am pretty crafty so I know I can learn myself. You make it look very easy. Thank You kindly for posting these videos. Now all I have to do is find out where to get all my supplies.

    (I am not really trying to make a stained glass window. I am just trying to make black and white illustrations of them.)

    Cool. I’m brand new to learning how to make stained glass… sculpture - images (?) - uhhh i suppose I don’t actually know… stained glass pictures lol. Determining the shapes has been my biggest block (which I imagine is like the whole talent of stained glass) and you make it look so easy!

    To be truthful, I'm not so flash with drawing either..... :-( That is why I use tracing skills to give me a kick start on great designs. Once you find the fundamental lines and join them up discretely, you merely need to ensure that the shapes you have got are cutable in glass. Good luck Garliclover, get tracing!

    Hi there,
    Firstly I want to say I LOVE all your videos. They have helped me learn so much.
    I've been having trouble with my projects lately and was wondering if you had any suggestions on what I should do.
    Every time after I'm done soldering my project it starts to fall apart where the seems are. I let it cool down but it looks like the copper foil tape isn't sticking to the glass. It's so frustrating.
    If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
    Thanks 😊

    I like your work and it has given me necessary info which I had forgotten, having done it 20 years ago.
    I would like to ask you what is the correct width of foil to use with a 3 mm glass. mine seems to come loose especially on longer runs 15 t0 20 cm long.

    • @karalnz
      @karalnz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's come loose, the glue has failed which suggests the roll of foil you used is very old..... or you have a poor quality foil. Buy some new foil stock...
      Oh and I usually go for 1/4 in foil for "ho hum" work, 3/16th for delicate / fine finishes.

  • @jacobpaul13
    @jacobpaul13 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great work!!! I was just wondering if you could tell us what would be the best glue to use from your local hardware store to glue 2 pieces of glass together ( or multiple pieces ) for a dimensional effect for wall art?

    • @karalnz
      @karalnz  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Clear silicon rubber will work. Make sure it is the one formulated for bonding glass (e.g. building aquariums with) as it has an etching agent in it and smells like funky vinegar. A solvent for it is turpentine. Use this glue very sparingly and as accurately as possible, Over applications can be removed later when it's cured, or wiped away with the turps when still wet..... good luck Zimmy...... :-)
