A note on the Weekday Voyage jeans: if you have a bigger bum/wider hips, I found them to look too wide and baggy in the leg and not that flattering. A great alternative would be their Seattle style, which has a slimmer leg but still looks like a straight fit. Hope it helps someone! xo
This video came at the perfect time! Was just searching through your blog and Insta for white trousers at the weekend. After nearly ten years of wearing mostly all black all the time, I wore a cream top and trousers for my birthday last week and felt amazing, so want to expand on that lol. Looking forward to trying out your recommendations. ☺️
For future Testing Basics I’d love to see coloured trousers going into autumn (they don’t need to be super bright, they can be subtle colours). I’d also love to see ankle boots that aren’t real leather, and cardigans when it gets a bit colder! X
Would you do a testing basics on loungewear? Especially as we gear up for a more relaxed winter season. Love the videos and your energy these days, as always. xo
I tried weekday jeans because of you and absolutely love them! Unfortunately they don't ship to the US so I get them on ASOS for anyone else that's been looking for them. It's so hard to find jeans so thank you so much for doing these videos :)
I've never had a pair of white jeans due to being paranoid re spilling something on them and the last white item I bought was a cashmere poloneck which I only wear layered under other darker knits or jackets for the same reason !
It frustrates me greatly how brands will label their jeans leg lengths any old length they feel like without actually measuring the leg length... love that
I wonder whether sometimes it's because the jeans are cropped, so it might be a pair of jeans intended to fit someone with a 30 leg in a cropped style, so the actual jean's inseam is only 28, but they're labelled 30 because that's who they're supposed to fit. That's probably giving the denim industry too much credit though, and even if this is the rationale, I would rather jeans be actually labeled with their real measurements.
I've bought these Voyage Weekday jeans (my first Weekday purchase, shocker) and am very impressed. I was so pleased to see my 'in-between' size of 29 listed. Great video!
I would love midi dresses as they are a personal favorite. I feel I am getting past the age of mini length skirts. Would especially love cotton and/or linen dresses.
I think white shirt that's not Linen would be nice, like the medium thickness too, and may be tanktop but well the weather will getting cooler so I don’t know by the time you finish with testing tanktop we can still profited from it. Thank you, love your series so so muchhh.
For the Selected Femme jeans, why not cut them off into shorts? You'd get more wear out of them then....maybe! I did that with a pair of skinny blue Levis and they look super.
I need to know where you would place your Levi's column jeans in this !!! I really loved the look of those jeans, they don't seem to be selling them anymore unfortunately, but i'd be so interested to hear how they compare with the rest of these jeans x
Dear, You helped me a lot more consciously to choose jeans (specially the lengths) - 2 pairs has arrived fr Weekday and they fit me perfectly. Please continue:) thanks.
At 13:10 what converse did you wear with those jeans? Like what color/style. Sorry for the random question lol I’m trying to imagine what shoes would pair well with those jeans
Been obsessed with white (more off white tbh) jeans since last year! My current ones are Cotton On Mom Jeans (the only mom jeans that don't look horrible on my small frame, love that it doesn't have any stretch) and Mango Grace slim-fit (which looks quite baggy on me, this one's stretchy but isn't too bad). I am small and have extremely slim legs so it's hard to find jeans. Just throwing some options if some of your viewers are looking for more affordable price point. I think I'm gonna invest in some Weekday jeans when I decide to buy new jeans based off your recommendation. Not now because I've been wearing boxers since March lol
I've been randomly going through some of your old videos, and I must say, your style has got so serious and streamlined lately. I recalled how many items you still prolly have that I don' even remember you wearing anymore. I read your latest blog post where you mention how weird these times must feel for everyone, and how out of comfort you run towards the same pieces each time, creating almost like a capsule wardrobe for yourself. But I think you'd be cheered up to just try put on some of your older pieces, and see how they feel... sort of like shopping out of your own closet type of thing. Ofc you're going to wear whatever you feel good in, I am honestly saying this as I would say to a friend. Clothes have the power to turn our moods around, colors, print, different textures... just try it as an experiment. If all fails, it could at least be an idea for a future video, one where you revisit old clothes/old styles etc. Much love Lizzie, I really hope you can find happiness in the littlest of things ^_^
For sustainable denim you should check out King of Indigo (don’t know if you’ve mentioned it before) That brand is a personal fav of mine, at least of skinny jeans.
Great video! I adore Weekday and their denim! Their Rowe jeans are amazing (I think you converted me to them!) as are the Rowe shorts which I now have in 3 colours. The Lash jeans are very nice too :)
Hey Lizzy! What would you say is the difference between the weekday Voyage jean and the Rowe jeans you bought a few weeks ago? Is it just the high-waistedness?
Could you PLEASE do a testing basics with dark wash denim?! I’m in love with the shape and shade of the Raey ‘push straight-leg jeans’ but I’m not sure if they’re worth the investment or not. I need your help! 😊♥️
Hmmm, I just got motivated to go see if my local Weekday shop has those jeans. I don't have any straight-leg white ones at the moment and they do look really good. (For other jeans styles, I have found Levi's do good skinny white jeans, Topshop good flares, and (quite premium) Eve Denim for wide-leg ones.) I think the COS ones make you look lost in them! But that's probably personal taste. Thanks for a great video.
Loved this! I was trying to guage which had the lowest rise- I'm all legs and no torso so really high ones compete with my ribs! Love the really straight ones but not easy to find in the states yet without distressing and 11.5" rise. Any way... Excellent Testing Basics Lizzy!💜 Oh! I havre a pair on the way from Everlane fingers crossed
loved this video!! Been looking for a pair of white jeans for a while now, but how did I know weekday would win as soon as you brought them out 😂 Also agree w you on the leg taper, still looks nice and I wore a lot of that style a few years back but I've grown out of that look and I'm more into the straight leg now!
Lol I loved the selected femme on you, they seemed to be the only ones that didn’t crease or have noticeable lines. But as you say it’s all personal preference.
The other day I was casually browsing the Weekday site and I saw they offer international shipping. I was so psyched!!! Then I looked and, yeah, they ship everywhere except the U.S. 🙄 There’s definitely some kind of denim cartel here that’s impeding the free market...LOL. ASOS US has a tiny selection that includes no shorts at all. So frustrating! Anyway, loved the video (as always). Thank you for all your work!
Hi Lizzy, I really like everyone of your outfit choices and how you paired them together. Also, I really like your loafers from the third and fifth outfit. Where did you get the slip-on loafers from in the fifth day outfit because I absolutely like them?
Lizzy I’ve been a fan for so long! As someone who is influential in the fashion industry, can you recommend finding basics but from sustainable and transparent brands (those sharing details on how their materials are sourced and garment workers are treated). I understand being gifted clothes and advertising is how you make your living, but incorporating more ways to be fashionable responsibly would be amazing and hopefully encourage other brands to become more effective at this and create it as the new norm. Maybe a suggestion: video on sustainable brands (check goodonyou.eco for ratings for almost every brand) and maybe addressing the topic of greenwashing as more brands try to attract customers as mindsets are beginning to change.
So I know you upload on a regular schedule but I wanted to let you know I've missed 2 videos already since Google turned off email notifications. I don't know if you're noticing fewer views. The emails reminded me to come check out your newest video and now I have to actually go to TH-cam and check the notification feed and hope I find you as I scroll down. If I were a content creator, I'd complain about this.
Please folks don't buy jeans on a whim. Everytime you buy new jeans it has affected the physical and enviromental existence of someone who had to make them. I get we all want new and pretty things, i like that too. But making jeans uses tonnes of water and through the dye process even more. Only buy what you truely need and think of those getting paid poorly and their life circumstances if you do. We have to step up and be the change we wish to see in this world.
You look lovely in straight leg jeans but you have long legs and for those with shorter legs and longer bodies these are very very unflattering and a slimmer leg in jeans looks better, it would be good to see some other styles as I'm sure with your figure you could style most types of jeans..
4 minutes to the video and i find it so weird about the L30 in Weekday and &other stories ones, it is so long in compare to L30 in topshop ones for an example. AND you are tall, i can't get from it how to pick the right lenght for me.
Michal Kitainik I am also her height and picked up a few weekday jeans. Lizzy is indeed quite long legged for 5ft8. Chose same length as her only to find it to be too long for me. For your reference, had 28 in voyage and Seattle for cropped length above my ankles and 30 in Rowe for full length just hitting my heels not touching ground.
@@LizzyHadfield I agree😓 Topshop has one of the weirdest sizing for jeans among the high street brands, it's way much easier to find jeans true to size in Weekday.
For future videos- I'd love to see midi dresses/black straight legged jeans testing basics or an overview of your favorite handbags!
A note on the Weekday Voyage jeans: if you have a bigger bum/wider hips, I found them to look too wide and baggy in the leg and not that flattering. A great alternative would be their Seattle style, which has a slimmer leg but still looks like a straight fit.
Hope it helps someone! xo
That's so helpful, Thanks!
I support that. Have wider hips and the seattle is great!
Hoping they bring out the Seattle in white for us wider hip girls 🤞🏼
Seattle model no longer exists unfortunately..
That yellow top you’re wearing in the end is gorgeous.
yes love that - please can you tell us where it's from Lizzy? 😊
I think it’s a Sandro top!
Thank you! it’s from Sandro but last summer I’m afraid! Zzz

@@LizzyHadfield Thank you lovely - I have found a very similar Sandro cami top in gold on Selfridges if anyone's reading this and interested Xx

I'd say another interesting characteristic you could mention is thickness and feel of the fabrics of various brands.

The Weekday ones looks the best on you! I do like the shape of the Selected but they look more like mom jeans because of the tapered ankle.
As always looove your testing basics!
