I read Paul’s new interview in Rolling Stone where he talked about Soul Station. The interviewer asked him if he was anxious to continue End of the Road and he said something like “Well I like Soul Station because I can just wear flat boots and don’t have to worry about breaking my ankle for the hundredth and whatever time. The boots I’m wearing on this last tour are are in inch taller than any other boot I’ve ever worn.”
When Rush was opening for Kiss, on the last night in San Diego either Gene or Paul came up behind Geddy as he was hitting a high note on the last song and smooshed him in the face with a cream pie. There is a photo of it in Gene's book. Paul was satisfied with their prank until, as he wrote somewhere, 'I looked to the side of the stage and saw Alex standing there with a bag of marbles. You've never lived until you've tried walking on a stage full of marbles in 9" heels.'
They look amazing. Walking in them, do you feel like you're gonna tip over and fall? Im asking this bc I have a pair of Demon boots, made from the Chinese company. Im always on edge in them when I wore them because I felt like I was gonna twist my ankle or fall over.
It’ll take some practice to get more confident while walking on them. I was previously in a musical where I wore platforms with about a 4” heel. I ran and danced in them! They are nice and snug, so that’s good.
Are you performing in these or are they just for costume our purposes? Reason I'm asking is after performing for almost a year in mine, I have some major concerns and was wondering about these because we have to order love gun costumes and im considering going with the custom boot designer of my 1976 boots instead of kiss replicas 1975s.
Truth is, I do plan on performing in them. I’ve actually been spending a lot of time walking around in them, dancing in them, playing guitar while wearing them. I still haven’t been able to understand if it just takes a lot practice to feel comfortable in them, like the real Paul Stanley, or if they’re just tricky to walk in at ANY time.
@@couthon took me 2-3 rehearsals of just walking around and doing small moves. After that I progressed to the big jumps and such but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you do jumps or lateral movement on soft surfaces! Stage surfaces or the like. When my first pair arrived I had to reposition the brace because it was crooked. Double check yours. My 1976 pair is made much better and is very true to the stage gear of paul circa 70s.steel shank with no brace and it allows natural movement. The kiss replica boots are more akin to ski boots or hockey skates. There's no natural movement of the ball and heel, independent of each other. Try bracing your ankles with sports wrap. Start the lateral movement and jumps sloooooooowly and you'll be the next starchild!!
You kinda look and sound like Doc McGhee. The metal support on the bottom is something that I do not believe that Paul has on his own. Unless they camouflage it very well.
Yeah, the metal support is barely noticeable. The Doc McGhee reference gives me an idea though… I wonder if any tribute bands need a “Doc McGhee”… to REALLY, TRULY complete the KISS experience!

The ankle chain was the problem! I modified it by putting a clasp on it, now the ankle chain is removable. They go on much easier now!

Actually, it was the chain around the left ankle that made them hard to put on. I’ve since attached a clasp to remove the chain when putting them on.
