I realized something about Doomsday zone. This isn’t Robotnik’s theme. It’s the player’s. Robotnik is literally running away from you. The only way you die is from running out of rings, and Robotnik just trie’s to slow you down to run away. I like final bosses that make me feel like a badass more than stupidly hard ones. This boss is the former, and I love it.
God I remember how happy I was the day I got hyper sonic. Only did it once, I just remember I couldn't believe I did it and felt so accomplished. Genesis Sonic gave me so much joy as a kid.
I got the same feeling when i finally got Super Sonic yesterday in pre 2.1 SRB2. Special Stage 7 isn't that hard after learning the controls, but it was nervewrecking.
I didnt even know this level existed for so long. Beat the game with each character individually with all emeralds before doing it with Sonic & Tails combo. When this level started i was like WAIT WHAT!?!?! WHAT!!?!?!?!?!?!? Then proceed to get my ass kicked by asteroids all day.
You should play Sonic 3 and Knuckles...NOW! And give it else a piece of your time in your life, that's got nothing else going on so you can enjoy inside this blue colored hedgehog. Because what are you here for? To listen to me? Play Sonic 3 and Knuckles. I mean that, with a hundred percent. With a thousand percent.
I still remember that "Holy SHIT!" feeling quite well. You didn't see stuff like that very much back then, and after getting all the Super Emeralds I was just thinking I'd get an extra little bit tacked onto the ending after I stopped Robotnik from stealing the Master Emerald (I was right, but I wasn't prepared to also suddenly get thrust into a new final showdown). I wouldn't get that same feeling again until playing the B scenario in _Resident Evil 2_ a few years later, and seeing the hard cut to the credit roll from Scenario A get replaced by an ominous jostling of the escape train and the game continuing on from there.
Yeah I’d have to say soaring through space and breaking through asteroids while maintaining a positive ring count was more fun and intense than another Bowser fight, nothing against Mario.

This level sort of scared me when I was a kid. Where'd my happy hedgehog go?! I'd think.
This is essentially who Super Sonic is all the time. Sonic’s mood completely changes and becomes extremely confident, almost arrogant. I mean just look at his standing animation when he’s on ledge lol

Sonic now understands all if this and now he knows he *must* stop Robotnik, and on the ledge he is observing the area, while thinking about all the stuff I just gave a long lecture on.

Easily one of the best final boss themes in Sonic games, I never got to this as a kid but after a couple year into my teen years I got Hyper Sonic which I didn't think was real for the longest time. I was so ecstatic! My love for S3&K will never go away
That happened to me twice when I was in the blue egg robot phase. The first I died in the transition to the second phase. The second I managed to get rings with *2* rings left

This theme is so good and has a lot of depth Put on earphones or headphones (I recommend earphones) remove the right earphone and set the theme to the beginning and the theme should have some parts of it removed this is ironically symbolised in the sonic and knuckles logo
This is called Stereo Audio. Some music notes and instruments can only be heard on one side of the earphone. Channel 2 for example, which can only be heard on the right side of the Earphone. Channel 1, which is the Bass, is for both headphones, but as channel 2 can only be heard in the right earphone, the bass is heard perfectly in the left earphone. Now if your headphones, or your device is set to Mono Audio, the same notes that were being played by splitting to one side of the headphones started to be heard in both headphone speakers. I like how this theme applies for the mecha sonic boss battle as well, but in a different way. It gives a sense of threat, due to the capability of this machine to turn into super mecha sonic. Yes I know that Robitnik used the master Emerald to power up his other machines, but let's be fair, the transformation is so much cooler. Yes I watched SMBZ
Sometimes I just boot up S3&K on an Emulator to go to the level select and play this level again. I don't know what it is but something about it is so appealing and it pulls me in. Maybe it's because I look at it from a perspective that just goes to show how batshit insane Eggman is sometimes, he's willing to go to extreme lengths at this point to just try and stop this hedgehog. I probably also just find it cool that this is a game from 1994 that has so much content in it and probably THE BEST final boss/final boss tracks I've played and heard in years. This is one of the only tracks I've heard that really makes you feel like you're the only one who can stop Eggman from getting away with it. Isn't S3&K 8MB big in total? Maybe 10MB. I might be wrong but I can't get a definitive answer, all I have to go off of is that Genesis Cartridges only held 4MB but after Street Fighter 2 they had 5MB ones so I'd assume they used all the storage they could lol Anyways that aside I fucking love the beginning of the track too. Something about it just makes me feel like it's Sonic coming to realization that he only has so much time to stop Robotnik from getting away with it. Sonic's usually goofing around and being cocky as hell but I feel like this was one of the only moments Sonic was being serious. Maybe it was just the Sonic 3 sprites looking more serious. Themes who makes you feel tense and without time while in space stages: Sonic & Knucles - Doomsday Zone Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere - Freefall (you have only the music time to finish all targets)
The best developed boss battle of Sonic then, and since. Even if you were awful at the special stages and didn’t get all the emeralds, you HAD to be Hyper Sonic in the last stage. Sonic Team made sure you got that nod, even if it was the last level of the original masterpiece.
The absolute SHOCK I experienced when I played S&K for the first time was insane. It took me hours to get all the emeralds, and after I did, I thought I had beaten the game after Death Egg. Then this started playing…
A fantastic cap to a fantastic game, especially the full S3&K epic. This is the last stretch, and the fate of the world lies in the balance. Breathtaking theme. Yet another reason why S3&K is my favorite Sonic game of all time.
*EXTREMELY* random fact: you can change the way this music (and maybe a few others, this is the biggest example imo) sounds by changing the audio balance in your devices settings. this song sounds best when you set it to left

Easily one of the best final boss themes in Sonic games, I never got to this as a kid but after a couple year into my teen years I got Hyper Sonic which I didn't think was real for the longest time. I was so ecstatic! My love for S3&K will never go away

That happened to me twice when I was in the blue egg robot phase. The first I died in the transition to the second phase. The second I managed to get rings with *2* rings left

This theme is so good and has a lot of depth
Put on earphones or headphones (I recommend earphones) remove the right earphone and set the theme to the beginning and the theme should have some parts of it removed this is ironically symbolised in the sonic and knuckles logo
What the actual shit… it feel very different
This is called Stereo Audio. Some music notes and instruments can only be heard on one side of the earphone. Channel 2 for example, which can only be heard on the right side of the Earphone. Channel 1, which is the Bass, is for both headphones, but as channel 2 can only be heard in the right earphone, the bass is heard perfectly in the left earphone.
Now if your headphones, or your device is set to Mono Audio, the same notes that were being played by splitting to one side of the headphones started to be heard in both headphone speakers. And those are the "differences" between Stereo and Mono Audio. Hope this helps! 😉👌

I like how this theme applies for the mecha sonic boss battle as well, but in a different way. It gives a sense of threat, due to the capability of this machine to turn into super mecha sonic. Yes I know that Robitnik used the master Emerald to power up his other machines, but let's be fair, the transformation is so much cooler.

When you’re in last place with zero stars
Sometimes I just boot up S3&K on an Emulator to go to the level select and play this level again. I don't know what it is but something about it is so appealing and it pulls me in. Maybe it's because I look at it from a perspective that just goes to show how batshit insane Eggman is sometimes, he's willing to go to extreme lengths at this point to just try and stop this hedgehog.
I probably also just find it cool that this is a game from 1994 that has so much content in it and probably THE BEST final boss/final boss tracks I've played and heard in years. This is one of the only tracks I've heard that really makes you feel like you're the only one who can stop Eggman from getting away with it. Isn't S3&K 8MB big in total? Maybe 10MB. I might be wrong but I can't get a definitive answer, all I have to go off of is that Genesis Cartridges only held 4MB but after Street Fighter 2 they had 5MB ones so I'd assume they used all the storage they could lol
Anyways that aside I fucking love the beginning of the track too. Something about it just makes me feel like it's Sonic coming to realization that he only has so much time to stop Robotnik from getting away with it. Sonic's usually goofing around and being cocky as hell but I feel like this was one of the only moments Sonic was being serious. Maybe it was just the Sonic 3 sprites looking more serious. I don't know I've ranted enough about how much I love this stage and it's music lol

Sonic & Knucles - Doomsday Zone
Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere - Freefall (you have only the music time to finish all targets)
The best developed boss battle of Sonic then, and since. Even if you were awful at the special stages and didn’t get all the emeralds, you HAD to be Hyper Sonic in the last stage. Sonic Team made sure you got that nod, even if it was the last level of the original masterpiece.
The absolute SHOCK I experienced when I played S&K for the first time was insane. It took me hours to get all the emeralds, and after I did, I thought I had beaten the game after Death Egg. Then this started playing…
A fantastic cap to a fantastic game, especially the full S3&K epic. This is the last stretch, and the fate of the world lies in the balance. Breathtaking theme. Yet another reason why S3&K is my favorite Sonic game of all time.

eggman was actually quite foolish, although it did work for him in this case in general putting a satelite in an asteroid belt like this is actually a terrible idea and makes your space station or in this case death egg vulnerable to asteroids hitting it and damaging your ship
