Lauren Falcon Absolutely we can sometimes be our own worst critic. It's a delicate balance between being motivated to excel but also not pushing ourselves into a wall. I'm still working on striking that balance for sure!
Thank you for sharing. I am currently applying to medical school and needed this inspiration to get through more applications. I will push through and not let my fear take over!
This really speaks to me. Going through very similar situations. I’ve worked super hard and systemic obstacles always seem to pop in my way. I started to re-apply this year after finishing my post-bacc program but my tuition was too high this semester and I’m still paying for it. God knows I want to be a physician but things just never seem to work out. Hoping things align
Thank you! I’m so glad I came across this video! Currently in med school listening to your story & seeing your journey is just so encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing🧡
I'm currently going through wanting to just give up on med school entirely and switching my degree to software engineering. It's not like I don't want to be a doctor I am interested but the process is just so much and I don't think I can handle that or if I want to put myself through all that stress. Like I can't think of a single reason why I should subject myself to this kind of stress at this point.
I don't! There are so many options to take within the specialty so you just need to create the life you desire with the skills you'll attain during training
Oh my goodness, YES! Comparing myself to others is the root of a lot of anxiety that I felt as a premed. That's one of the hardest parts especially bc some can be competitive. I became very intentional about trying to "compete" only with myself and I found a small group of trusted friends who I studied with and we never compared grades with one another, which was so helpful. Wishing you the best bc I know that premed is a tough time!
Haha this is a common concern, especially for young women who are considering medicine as a career. I am still contemplating my own personal timing for starting a family. However, I have heard from many female mentors above tell me that at the end of the day, there is no perfect time to have kids haha.

I am finding myself in the same situation. I need to overcome my fear of failing. Sometimes we are too hard on ourselves.

Years later do you regret your decision? I’m interested in em but I’m getting scared of all what i hear and read …

Did you ever find yourself discouraged because of comparing yourself to other pre meds?
That’s been my biggest problem and it makes me feel in a rut

Being Bernice Thank you sm 🙏🏻 good luck in residency
What med school did you go to ?
I don’t mean to intrude, but when do you plan on having kids? I’m so worried about that! I really want to have kids in my 20s AND do med school :/

Are you a Nigerian?
Emeks B I'm not but I do get asked that sometimes haha. Thanks for watching!
