    Boy...some crazy nasty comments. This is a beautiful little boy with a loving family. Tiny babies run in my family. No matter what I did, my babies were preemie, or low birth weight. Other people have issues that cause high birth weight. Enjoy this adorable video and keep the comments positive.

    To those who think this baby is just large and not fat, well, I strongly suggest you get your eyes tested. He has wayyy too many huge rolls and because they were literally squeezing his lungs, he needed a respirator right after he was born.. This baby is fat. Period.

    • @lonelyheroine
      @lonelyheroine 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Um, I believe you are showing yourself to be somewhat clueless & not too bright. I hope you never have kids, because you'll likely feed them constantly like those sniffling mothers on Maury who let their kids get morbidly obese and then have no idea why Sean is "So big. He shouldn't be so fat. What can I do?
      And in case you are wondering what started heavy kids down the road to eventual immobility, I present this very video. It has been proven that when mothers suffer from gestational diabetes, their babies are born fat. Yes, fat. I suggest that you do a bit of digging on this site to find the growing problem of obese babies becoming obese toddlers & then very obese children. I read that this generation will have a life span less than their parents and grandparents because they may develop type 2 diabetes before they get to high school.
      That old saying, "eating for two" when a woman is pregnant is false. Mothers only need 500 extra calories and bearing children should not be an excuse to eat far too much so that your baby is born heavier than average and will likely be doomed from day one.
      I hope you are able to extract some important facts as I have laid them on this board, but judging from your response, it isn't likely to happen and that is truly frightening.

    • @bessadok
      @bessadok 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      lonelyheroine In this mother's specific case, she had type 1 diabetes which is an auto immune disease. You are aware of the definition of 'autoimmune' is do you not?
      I can see why you're lonely.

    • @lonelyheroine
      @lonelyheroine 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      uhhh what Yes, I know what autoimmune means. My cousin has Lupus, which is just one of several illnesses that fit that diagnosis. Gestational diabetes can be prevented if the mother has her blood sugar tested regularly, refrains from eating too much sugar, of she has Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes herself. She knew this before she got pregnant, so she should have taken steps to keep her own blood sugar under control. There is a very high risk factor for the baby. Frequent ultrasounds can let the doctor know if the fetus is growing at an alarming fast rate. Modern medicine has advanced to the point where gestational diabetes doesn't necessarily happen. Using that diagnosis as an excuse to justify having a 14-pound newborn when there are ways to prevent or at least lessen the effects. Of course there are cases of gestational diabetes that cannot be explained, but they are in the minority. Judging by your username, you are likely very young. And by the way, I already posted about the mother having gestational diabetes a few months ago. Do you read the comments on here or just post to them?

    • @tnthardin49
      @tnthardin49 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +lonelyheroine I am sorry you need to get better or more facts. My sister has inherited diabetes. In a pregnant woman with Gestational Diabetes, the cells become ‘insulin resistant’. The pancreas makes ‘the usual’ amount of insulin to enable the cells to absorb the glucose, but because the cells have become ‘resistant’ to the insulin, the amount of insulin needed increases. When the pancreas makes as much insulin as it can, and the cells continue to struggle to absorb the glucose, this is Gestational Diabetes. The blood glucose levels in a woman with GDM rise as normal after a meal, but stay elevated due to the cell’s inability to absorb the glucose.So what can you do to prevent or stop insulin resistance and GDM from developing? There seems to be this myth floating around that fit and healthy women don’t get GDM, and unfit or unhealthy women are probably going to have GDM. It’s false. In pregnancy, insulin resistance is mostly caused by an increase in pregnancy hormones (hormones produced by the placenta). The hormones are thought to reduce the effect of insulin on the cell, as well as reducing the response of the cell to insulin. While keeping yourself healthy can reduce your risk, there is nothing that can stop your cells developing insulin resistance from the hormones made by the placenta. Although there appear to be some risk factors which could increase the chance developing Gestational Diabetes (for example, age, ethnicity, weight, personal or family history of diabetes, or some hormone-related conditions such as PCOS), there are many women who develop insulin resistance and GDM who do not show any risk factors. In short, you just can’t control how your cells respond to your pregnancy hormones. There is a lot of research to suggest the most pregnant women will develop some insulin resistance during the pregnancy because of the increase in pregnancy hormones, but for many women the pancreas is able to produce enough insulin to maintain stable blood sugar levels and so it does not develop into diabetes.There is also this idea that women with GDM can control it. Women are told “You just need to keep your diabetes under control.”, like it’s just that easy. Unfortunately, no one can explain how to control a cells response to the pregnancy hormones. You can’t control Gestational Diabetes. It happens sometimes. But telling a women that she should be able to control it really put unnecessary shame and blame on mothers who are frustrated and disappointed enough as it is. So if you’ve ever said this then, please, never say it again!You can’t control Gestational Diabetes. It happens sometimes. But there are ways to help your body deal with it. Monitoring diet and engaging in regular exercise really can be the key for women who have low-to-medium level insulin resistance. The aim of monitoring your diet is to balance the amount of carbohydrate in your meals.And having a healthy baby.

    My father was a 13 pound baby. My daughter born naturally after 42 hours labor at 9 pounds, 10 ounces, 21 inches long . . . and my son? . . .1 and a half hours labor, 11 pounds even, nearly 23 inches long, born naturally, at home! . . . He was diagnosed as "Immature" with underdeveloped organs, particularly his respiratory system, with oxygen levels at 84 and 82 and dipping into the 70's his first few weeks of life. Neither my father, nor my babies are diabetic, by the way. And me? I gained normally during my daughters pregnancy . . . . . . yet, lost over 40 pounds during my sons pregnancy, and of course was very concerned of how this could affected his health.. . . additionally, my daughter has mostly been 100 percent on her growth charts, while my son is usually in the 120 percent, the top percentage of growth charts . . . I have read a medical journal article stating that Caucasian woman (perhaps Scandinavian descent) commonly give birth in the 41st or 42nd week, if allowed to progress normally. Yet, doctors prefer C section after the 40 week and definitely if past the 41st week, to save baby from possible stillbirth and other complications. My babies were both born in the cusp of their 40th/41st week. Babies can gain 1/2 pound a week in the end of the pregnancy. I am Scandinavian and Native American.

      Kierre Hodges Glucose. In this mother's case she had type 1 which is auto immune, this translates to something beyond her control unlike type 2 which is developed usually due to obesity.

    • @clarkjc44355
      @clarkjc44355 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those who have diabetes have a risk of having bigger babies. Its glucose that causes it.
      Some women end up with gestational diabetes from weight gain and not eating right which in that case their ob will try to get them to control what they eat and their blood sugar so their risk of a bigger baby is less. It can come with breathing issues and even feeding issues.
      She has type 1 diabetes which is a childhood one. She has no control over it. No matter how she eats she will have type 1 diabetes.
