@@raaghavbhatia4543 I think by doing so you are adding additional compounding every year to the inflation money also that is ideally consumed by inflation. Meaning 100 at 10% disregards the reduction in value due to inflation and adds compounding to the lost money. That is why if you widen the gap from 5 to 30 years the amount difference will significantly increase.

But I'm just curious, why would you not recommend someone in early 20s to go majorly in on Small caps and remaining in ELSS to start with (as it will be required anyways). I think that will be a better recommendation to start early for long term in Small caps. And then maybe in later 40s we can switch it to Large/mid caps or others.
