No, those were all sets. The only Green Screen MV is Whistle, and that was their first video and music release. They even Badazlled a T-series Soviet Tank for a video (Real Tank). Rosé is the main vocalist and the one with Lavender blonde hair. Jennie is the Brunette with Blonde streaks in the front, Main Rapper, and lead Vocalist. Jisoo Is the brunette in the scene with the hole in the wall and the umbrellas on fire, Main Visual, Lead Vocalist. And of course you know Lisa, Main Dancer, Lead Rapper. Just a simple tip Lisa almost always has bangs. They change their hair color often, so in the beginning, it may be hard to keep up with who's who! Jennie and Rosé also have solo projects out; Jennie's song is called Solo, Rosé, has On The Ground and Gone. Plus, some covers she has done, and Jisoo has a couple covers as well. about “how have I been all my life?” I had the same feeling when I was in the kpop fandom after a month, more or less. in high school I was a fan of indie music, especially with a folk-y vibe to it. It was hard to overcome at first, I was extremely overwhelmed with this new world, when I started to appreciate the production value (both musically and visually), I was like “why didn't joined the fandom sooner?”. That thought was 7 years ago and now I thank a good friend of mine to have introduced me to this world, learning something different from what was cozy ♡

Good music is still entertaining even when you don't know the language. I don't even bother to turn on the captions; the music is good enough. But, what I discovered, is that language is a real major barrier preventing people from stepping into a different world of music. I've given up trying to convince even people in my family. They get turned off by the language they don't understand, and usually can't even finish listening to a song I introduce them to.
@@raffin8854 in my case it was just a "sound adjusting" because I was a huge fun of indie folk songs and such. As an Italian, generally our radio stations broadcast many songs in different languages (for example, French) and the concept of a song sung in a foreign language wasn't unfamiliar to me >

And they dont use green screen, theres the behind the scenes for all of their MVs i guess, even the red scene with the umbrellas (Jisoo's scene) they were actually on fire (you can see it on 'Blackpink 24/365 EP 2), so if youre interested its really cool to see their sets :D

Blackpink member lisa. She is thai but came to south korea to be in a kpop girl group call: blackpink.
Lisa can speak 3 fluent languages and 2 more intermediate level. She is fluent in english, korean and thai.
She had to learn korean to be in the group. She speaks like a native american but never was once born there.
Blackpink is the current biggest gir group in the world base on how many fans they have. Bigger than any american group in america cause america don’t have many boy or girl groups. Not all but a lot of blackpink mv are in the 1 billions mv views count.
Hedden meaning in MV:
The beginning scene that many misunderstood for an angel (or a fallen angel of some sort) is actually the representation of goddess Nike (the torso of a woman attached to wings).
This is a representation of a theater stage and where a Greek God (actors) would be lowered down from up the stage. However, the wings have been added in the video specifically for one reason: furies. Furies were winged creatures who represented the female Goddess of vengeance and they hated men. Eris the Goddess was their mistress, the Goddess of strife.
This has a lot to do with female empowerement overall. The goddess Nike represented victory, the wings of furies represent war and vengeance, and Eris' biggest enemy was the God Eros, who mostly ruled over men and their ****** emotions. The girls are saying the feminism is rising and is fighting the oppression.
Here we see her being lowered down to the ground in what appears to be a coffin made out of flowers. This scene is extremely symbolical for a couple of reasons.
Greeks believed that wedding and death were very much linked. This is because of goddess Persephone many of you have probably heard a lot about. Persephone was the Goddess of nature and seasons who was kidnapped by Hades, the God of death and the underworld, to be his wife. This gave Persephone a dual role, she was both the Queen of hell, and the Goddess of nature overall. In the end, Persephone convinced Hades to let her back on Earth at least for half a year, which is the period of spring and summer. During Autumn she would be leaving, marking her complete absence from our plain and bringing winter.
This leads us straight to the girls of Blackpink DANCING THEIR WAY THROUGH THE SEASONS.

It's important to mention that Persephone wasn't destined to be the Queen of Hell, only of nature, but her destiny was chosen by others instead of her. This is often the destiny of kpop girls as well, who do as they're told, not as they wish.
Moving on to Lisa and a very important scene of hers::
Here we see Lisa next to a falcon. In the Greek Mythology, this bird represents Pheme. She was the winged messenger of Zeus himself, and also the Roman Goddess of rumor, fame, and infamy. She was described as petite, however, as the rumors would begin among a nation, she would grow larger and larger until her wings could cover the whole sky. This is a strong reference to fake rumors about female idols in K-pop and ****-shaming them based on uninformed grounds. In the next scene, the girls are confirming this theory.

Notice how in the second photo girls are imitating gossiping by impersonating people's usual reaction when they hear a gossip.
Here we have Jennie and her dancers imitating spiders crawling on her face with their hands. Additionally, the next photo shows us Jisoo sitting on a chair that looks like a spider itself and as if she's being trapped in hell (This being a reference to Christianity, a religion that claims committing suicide sends you straight to hell):
In Greek Mythology, there's a story of a mortal woman named, Arachne. She challenged Goddess Minerva (Goddess of Wisdom but she was really just a major envious little bit*h) on a duel of weaving. Once they finished, Arachne's work of art had no flaw in it, it was PERFECT(just the way kpop girls need to be). This caused great fury within Minerva and she started beating and humiliating Arachne. This caused Arachne to commit SUICIDE out of great SHAME. After committing her suicide, Arachne was transformed into a, you guessed it, SPIDER.
These two scenes and the story behind them is a direct reference to how many kpop idols committed suicide only during the last year because their image of being perfect had been shattered for one reason or another. Their fans and the overall population would then start humiliating them on the daily basis, until they would commit suicide.
As you can see, for some reason, YG and Blackpink decided to include a lot of symbolical background into this video. Not to mention that all of this story-telling gives a lot more meaning to the lyrics (how you like that) which can honestly draw a parallel between this song and Britney's Gimme More. Both are basically saying how people want more from them and they keep giving.
The statue also has another meaning that even hater destroy their arms and feet they will grow wings to stand back up
The Music Video industry in korea is absolutely insane man. Set setup, post production, choreo, lighting, everything is just done to such an incredible level. When I used to live in Korea I was able to do videos once a month for Korean-English textbooks (from about age 8-13) and I was able to catch glimpses of some of the sets in one of the main broadcasting buildings (KBS was the station) and mannnnnn the teams they got for this is crazy.

@@TrapLotto also, every Korean agency has, what I like to call, a “flavor”: for instance, you can instantly recognize if a song belongs to YG, SM, JYP or HYBE (these are the most influential agencies in South Korea). So, everyone has a style + a particular skill they want to focus on (for example, YG focus on the “grand” performance, making it looking luxurious. SM focus on the vocal ability of their artists, making them great vocalists and making their choreographies elegant and visually “royal”. JYP focus on the catchy and easy-looking dance moves [in reality the moves are intricate especially with hand movements] and ear-worm tunes).

YG is known to not ever use GREEN SCREEN.. everything they have in their videos are brought to life!!
The other girls are Jisoo (jee-su) straight out of South Korea (born and raised) she’s the oldest of the group.. in this video she has brunette hair.. then there’s Jennie born in Korea but went to live in New Zealand when she was young.. she’s the one who starts the song off with the blonde in front.. then there’s Rosé born in New Zealand raised in Australia.. she has the most unique voice is kpop.. she’s the blonde one or gray.. and her and Lisa are months apart in age..

My guy is about to go into the kpop rabbit hole 😂... my daughter makes me listen/watch all of these. One thing is for certain... the lyrics and the effort are wayyyy more advanced than what we have here. The dude groups are a little too feminine for my liking but the dancing and some of the tracks do go hard though.

you can listen and watch the mv of kill this love. Also if you go to Blackpink channel - they had the music channel with most suscribers in youtube- you will see a list of their MVs and Solos. And even their first release has 1B views- Boombayah. But i recomend Whistle, wich is the only MV where they use a little bit of green screen and Playing with fire.
