Thanks for uploading this! I haven't watched them for years, and really glad I found this. This is the way roller derby was meant to be played, not like the tamed down versions I found recently on YT.
I really miss these days. Kzar Stadium, Sam Francisco Cow Palace, Oakland Auditorium was packed with fans and the excitement seeing Carol Peanut Myers, Joanie Western, Delores Tucker, Charlie O'Connell, Tony Roman, Cliff Butler.... the 🔥 fire was L.I.T!!!
In 1976, we used these orange & brown strip jerseys, at the Washington Coliseum. I wore #34. Michael Spriggins, from Philadelphia, was my coach, along with Douglas Lynn, Dwight & others. Feels great to look back to that time period. 😊
Hello! I am a freelance production coordinator currently working for the Japanese TV program and we are currently producing an urban street program (FOR INLINE SKATE / ROLLER BLADE EPISODE) for Japanese viewers. I would love to use this clip for about 15-30seconds in our edit so TV hosts can watch. Is it ok to use this clip for our show?
Not needed. Derby was beginning to lose it's sheen & doing a few of the same antics many hardcore Derby fans didn't like about it's rival, Roller Games.
Sadly agree with you. Even though I am a hardcore Roller Derby fan of that time period,. wasn't needed @ all. Though I understood the Billie Jean King/Bobbie Riggs angle, not needed. Looked too much like Roller Games!

So very cool...he was one of my faves since I was an east coast guy. The Chiefs were my team.

I was born in 46. I think the best years were in the middle 50s through the late 70s for disco and roller derby.
Those were the best days!!!
1970's were the best - Roller Derby and disco music.
SFBA Bomber women in late 60s early 70s bam!

I cant believe people really behave like this.
That was awful anything to sell to match shame
This was an attempt to capitalize on the Billie Jean King/Bobby Riggs match that was big at that time. Didn't work.

Debbie Cho could NOT skate.
She was a rookie. She got better as time went on.
She progressed into something though in the end.
