- ब्रिटेन में दक्षिण एशियाई मूल के करीब 25 से 30 लाख लोग रहते हैं. इनमें एक बड़ी संख्या भारतीयों और पाकिस्तानियों की है जिनमें से बहुत से लोग यहां मतदान का अधिकार भी रखते हैं. ये माना जाता है कि ब्रिटिश हाउस ऑफ़ कॉमन्स की कुल 650 सीटों में से क़रीब 50 सीटों पर दक्षिण एशियाई लोगों का दबदबा है और वो इन सीटों के नतीजों पर असर डाल सकते हैं. कई दशकों तक लेबर पार्टी के पक्ष में वोट करने वाले भारतीय मूल की बिज़नेस कम्युनिटी का झुकाव पिछले कुछ सालों में कंज़र्वेटिव पार्टी की तरफ हो गया. इस बार लेबर पार्टी के सत्ता में आने की सम्भावना के चलते ये कम्युनिटी चिंतित है. इन चुनावों में दक्षिण एशियाई लोगों के लिए बड़े मुद्दे क्या हैं? क्या अगली सरकार बनने के बाद इन लोगों के जीवन में कुछ बदलेगा? इन सवालों के जवाब तलाशने की कोशिश कीबीबीसी संवाददाता राघवेंद्र राव और देवाशीष कुमार ने. देखिये लंदन से उनकी ये स्पेशल रिपोर्ट.
