x^2 = 9+ (-4)+ 12í
x ^2= 5+12í ----- (1)
Since,
f(x) = x^4- 4x^3 +4x^2+8x+44
= x^2( x^2-4x+4)+8x+44
Now,
Putting value of x^2 from eqn. (1)-
f(3+2í)= x^2[5+12í- 4(3+2í)+4] +8(3+2í)+44
=x^2[9+12í - 12- 8í] +24+16í +44
=x^2[-3+4í ] + 68+16í
=(5+12í) [-3+4í] +68+16í put value of
x^2 here just to make calculation simpler
= -15 + 20í - 36í - 48 + 68 +16í (í^2 =-1 so 48×-1 =-48 there)
= -15 - 48 + 68 + 20í - 36í + 16í
= -63 + 68 - 16í + 16í
