It changed my life once I started watching testimonies. They’re so moving, each story is different, every survivor experienced different. All people. I realize I have nothing to complain in life

So glad I'm not the only one who has watched hundreds of testimonies at this point. But I love it, get so upset and angry hearing what it done to them. I feel hearing their story is so important, each one unique in their own way. ❤

Wow, just finished watching the whole life history of Edith. It truly was like a "lake" was protecting her during the war. Edith has had a beautiful life, and I'm so happy that she went on to have children and grandchildren. Such a beautiful, strong, and smart woman. Always remember.

I beg to differ; she is credible to the extent that most people don't have the capacity to comprehend the nature and extent of her greatness or the evil she encountered. Her take on Trump resonates with many people out there who recognize the pathological nature of Trump and his brand of evil.

I'm sorry to be so negative but the audio mix is terrible! The interviewer is loud and there's so much echo it's unlistenable. The interviewee is far too quiet in comparison (it's the same with nearly all of theses Shoah Foundation interviews) It's so important these last few survivors are heard! It's too important to mess up like this!

Until I started watching these testimonies I did not really appreciate how strong the family ties were amongst the Jewish people, a fantastic family ethic helping each other

Since this video is a more philosophical persective, and as many commentstors I also have watched a few hundred by now, I can tell you a testimony I remember cleatly is a Survivor who clearly had an emotionally cold family, detached, and even though I listed to the testimony around 2019 I clearly remember how they described that when they realized that the Nazis were about to “liquidate”,a temporary ghetto they (I do not recall the gender) simply walked away from their mother and siblings and shared that they felt nothing at all, they were solely focused on surviving, and how they were, even then, aware that remaining with their family dimishished their chances of survival.
Then they said they never thought of their mother or siblings. I recall thinking how morally despicable the Nazis were for placing the Jewish People of such psychofamilial distress and destruction. As I listened to that testimony I made a comscious effort to accept and not judge that Survivor, even though their words made my stop feeling empathy, I consciously tried not to judge.
When I listen to these many testimonies, I try to catch myself if I start idealizing or distorting the full hetereogeneous diversity of ways of Existing as Survivors, during and after the Shoah.
I believe we should view all Survivors for who they were, without idealisation of their Souls but accepting.

Two months ago on my tablette on youtube, I felt an urge/a calling to look and follow the testimonies of the survivors of the Shoah documentaries. I am amazed by the stories of these survivors...I cried, I was so angry, i felt that the world let this killing go for so long. I am a Fench Canadian woman. I am working still at a young 50 years old 3 days à week at a beautiful hotel at the réception in Québec. We hire a lot of student interesting in the business in summer for replacement. I dont k ow why but for the last month I ask these youngs if they know about the holocauste and if not I talk about it . I feel that a lot of young PEOPLE are not aware. Sorry for my English.

My Holocaust Survivor Grandfather figure told me once that he remembered his birth, he was a philosopher so I believe him. I was precocious and sensitive and remember so much from when I was 4 and 5, I thought I would lose my detailed childhood memories upon hitting my 40s but I still remember so much in great detail.
So I relate when some Survivors recall childhood moments from before and during the war.
I admire Mrs Shapiro for becoming a psychiatrist. I imagine becoming a philosopher, an ethicist also has the power to “dissect” Evil into its raw components, similarly to how Evil becomes less terrifying when analyzed from a scientific psychological or psychiatry perspective.

Incredible woman. Unforgivably bad interviewer and what is going on with his sound? Is he in a cave somewhere in a different country doing his laundry? Sounds like he's reading the newspaper in a cave and throwing out random questions as an afterthought. Would you like to know about the bathrooms at the factory or where the glass in the windows came from? Geez. Anyway, Ms. Shapiro is wonderful. I'm just completely flummoxed that this person was allowed to interview anyone let alone this special woman. Did he wander in from the street and get tangled in the curtains?

Did not even realize it was so long!!!! I only felt sorry for her that did not stop when she got hiccups, she is so well educated she did not want to interrupt I think!!!! I know I should go and have help solving my childless and my relation with my parents. If I was to live close today I thought She would be the only Dr. I would see and talk to....

Ela contava sobre as falsas identidades, sobre o homem que deveria levá-las e esse cara vem com perguntas sobre nomes e soletraçôes, interrompendo a narrativa.

I thank God to hear the holocaust survivors, they are truly saved by miracles to tell their story, yes indeed all people were not the same. Great what I have learned is that all people are created by God every one of us are humans . be it white or black skin , be it women or man ,we have to respect and love one another. ethnic has to be mentioned but not use full to remove one another and fight one another ,one day it will back fire, no one is stronger than others it is a matter of time.
