Thank you so much for all this. I am confused what is the difference between plush velvet and naples. Naples also looks like velvet but what is the difference pls? Pls reply.
would you recommend velvet for blazers that are meant to be worn casually? we're some blazers made for our debate team and are unsure on which material would be more flexible
You could use any of these: www.onlinefabricstore.net/product-group-velvet.aspx?use=apparel We'd suggest the micro velvet if you don't want stretch or the stretch velvet if you do. The micro velvet is a bit thicker and would provide better structure than the stretch.
Do you know where to find velveteen fabric by the yard? I want to make shorts of of it. I have scoured the internet (including the website you recommended above and etsy) and cannot find velveteen fabric by the yard. Do you know why it's so hard to find? I'm specifically trying to find dark brown. You can find tons of velvet but velvet does not have the same look. Velvet is too shiny. Velveteen is more matte. I have some fabulous velveteen shorts that no longer fit that I wanted my tailor to replicate but we can't find the fabric! Or I might consider velvet it is was non-stretch, matte, and not too thick. Again, this is to make a pair of shorts. Any recommendations? Thanks

I know this video is old but I was wondering if you could help me. I’m looking for a fabric for a gaming table. Specifically I’m hoping to find one that could hold up to metal dice being rolled on it
They have a distinctly different look and the backing is different. Velvet is woven, while historically suede is made from an animal pelt (we do offer faux suede thought and that is probably the more popular option at this point.) Generally velvet has a little more "nap" than suede so the length of the fibers is a little longer and each fiber is a little thicker which makes it more fuzzy feeling. While suede has a really low nap and I would say that for most it is going to feel more like a soft fabric, not a fuzzy one. That is a very watered down version of the differences, the materials are usually going to be vastly different as well. I would recommend ordering samples of each if you are trying to decide between the two.
We're not sure. We don't carry silk/rayon velvet, so we can't test it out to see how crush resistant it is. Our guess is it wouldn't be very different from 100% rayon velvet because the percentage of rayon is often high in silk/rayon velvet.
Any of the upholstery velvets could work, but the Bella upholstery velvet may be the best for this sort of application: www.onlinefabricstore.net/product-group-velvet.aspx?product=micro-velvet&application=upholstery&category=basic
We are manufacturer of cotton velvet, viscose velvet fabric. Please let me know if you have any requirements and also we can come to your office and discuss more in details as we are also based in Panipat Look forward to hearing from you.
Hey, I just found your channel and I love it. I recently graduated from Excelsior College. Their school colors are Purple and Gold. I wanted to add a purple background behind my degree but I got confused when I started noticing all of the options, e.g., Felt, Velour, Velvet, Silk, and then the multiple variations of each of them. This feels like finals again and I'm overwhelmed. What purple fabric would you recommend for the background of a degree picture frame? Thanks! Like and subbed!
Any of our upholstery velvets or the chenille would work well. The velvets are actually more durable based on the double rub test. (The higher the number, the better.) But the chenille may be a little easier to maintain because the nap isn't as noticeable. It's more a matter of which you like the look of better. You can order samples from our store. Here's links to the upholstery velvets and the chenille: www.onlinefabricstore.net/product-group-velvet.aspx?application=upholstery www.onlinefabricstore.net/product-group-chenille.aspx
