  • The longest floating bridge in Bangladesh.
    It is located at Rajgonj in Jessore. It is approximately 30KM away from Jessore city & almost 250KM away from the capital of bangladesh, Dhaka.
    The bridge was built on the Jhapa lake, locally called, Jhapa Baor. The bridge is also called
    Bangabandhu Floating bridge, named after the father or nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh
    Mujibur Rahman.
    The bridge is almost 1300 feet long & 9 feet wide. The bridge is made of plastic drums with
    steel sheets . Around 50Lac taka has been spent to construct the bridge.
    It is a community built bridge. The bridge was built without any govemnment fund or any
    assistance. Even, no engineers opinion was taken in this regard.
    The bridge was built on the initiatives of 60 local youth . They started to built the bridge with their intellect.
    Now this bridge can be used by small vehicles such as motorcycle, cycle, rickshaw, van etc.
    Before constructing that bridge. people had to travel about 10km to get around wihout a
    boat. This bridge put an end to the misery of local residents.
    Many curious people are coming from different places to see the bridge. That floating bridge has already caught the attention of many people.
