Wonderful class by a senior Iyengar teacher! I really needed your expertise Kathy as I have a good bit of ankle stiffness due to achilles tendon surgery. Thank you.
Dear Kathy, I Have done this course this morning after my personnal practice and not only my constant interest on you teachings, this has been a great expérience : After the class I happened to feel my feet restored, with significative energy and blood circulation, even now after5 hours😃 This is really a great feeling😃👍 Will regularly add it to my practice and share with students. We tend foorget how much feet are important untill we are aging Thank you so much for sharing this 🙏🌸🧘♀️ Bliss and Joy Namaste
Hi Myriam, Thanks for your note. Exactly, our feet, toes and ankles are so important. They are much like the breath, so foundational but so often taken for granted until there is a problem. Enjoy and yes, please pass on. Namaste, Kathy
I am curious why you say that it is the worse thing you can do for yourself to walk barefoot??? As a yoga teacher for 24 years I strongly disagree, but am curious about your opinion. I enjoy your teaching!
Please tell me more. Where on the toe? Pain all the time? Or just when pressure applied on the toe. Bottom or nail side. The more you can tell me the more I Can advise
I have very high arches and find the toes tucked under positions most helpful. PS... You mentioned wear shoes as soon as you get out of bed because going barefoot is one of the worst things we can do...then later you said wearing shoes is one of the worst things we can do. Just thought I'd point that out. ;)
Thanks Danielle, good comment. I understand that may be confusing. Putting on the shoes first thing in the am is useful as that is when the feet are most tight and sore. Purring full weight on the tightened muscles and be very painful. Once you have time to warm up going without can be done as per your body and experience. The wearing shoe comment comes mostly from wearing improper shoes, tight, too loose, not supportive for you body, high heels etc. I find it very individual as to the shoe that best supports your foot and over all health of the foot. Some of us have high arches and some no arch, the shoe to retrain, develop and support the muscles in the feet and legs will be very different. What your shared for your high arch maybe very different for a no arch foot. Hope that helps you with what I said. All my bests! ❤️❤️
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga Thanks, Kathy. My feet seem to be pretty tight not just in the AM but ALL the time! 😅 I’ve been massaging them by putting my fingers in between the toes…And working to spread the toes as well as lengthen them in asan and daily life. Idk if anything happens but I guess that’s what faith is designed for. 😅🙏
